Just some pics from a couple weekends ago One of the areas at first light A stinkin rattlesnake...I have never seen so many...I ran into 5 ...one was when I was walking into an area to glass in the dark..and no more then 5 feet from me one started to rattle...I have never been so scared in my life. It made me more paranoid about snakes then I have ever been...i was shaking pretty bad This is a little forky...cant tell in the photo since it is so blurry This is a pic of a spike Can you find the deer in this pic?(it should be very easy)

it will be a tough hunt...lots of small bucks will be shot...you should have plenty of chances at em'. the november hunt kind of sucks cuz we get the second crack at them....they will be pushed around a lot. Plus opening day there will be muley hunters in there ...just get out and glass your butt off...or hike or do both....ac guy posted the game and fish stuff...its a good starting point....dont overlook the lower elevations

I would have but you were up in 6A...helping people find small bulls ..jk they should have listened to you The bucks are there nothing real big yet but that will change when I have the 15's on my doorstep by the end of this month

I agree....I just found out I can get the Bogen carbon tripod for $197... its kind of a no brainer now...then i have to buy a head...I will get either the Jim White fluid head or the 701RC2

well thats the MSRP price...im guessing it would be between $500 or $600 But ya thats a very steep price...thats why I was just curious if it is possibly worth it I could use my swaro points on it and get it free but the 15's are first priority

Kevin K...I like the sound of them servicing the tripod...that would make it almost worth paying the extra...how did you like the tripod? was it noisy pulling the legs out? was it sturdy enough? DB...I am also curious about the sturdiness of the carbon tripods....there is supposed to be an advantage to them other then being lighter and that is it is supposed to absorb the movement from wind or what not therefore making it more sturdy...got to test it to see if thats true. The Swarovski carbon tripod msrp's at $710...the Bogen carbon tripod w/701RC2 head goes for $410 I am thinking about just getting the Bogen and then possibly putting the Jim White fluid head on to top it off...anyone use that head? Some guy the other day had a sweet little setup he had created. It was really light...he bought the Bogen carbon tripod and then bought the bogen adapter piece w/the quick release plate and put the on the tripod and then went to Ace hardware and bought a $0.79 piece to adapt his outdoorsman head to the quick release plate then welded the head to the quick release plate...it was a nice setup Red Rabbit, that seems like a good idea buying that rock bag...especially if you want your setup to be real sturdy. I also noticed on some tripod setups that a majority of the vibration or movement came from the head and not the tripod

I love the look of that country...I would def be hunting that if I had that tag. As far as the deer in the area...there has to be plenty in there..but it could be one of those great looking spots with very little deer...I would keep trying that spot if I were you....good luck

maybe not the weirdest thing but I think one of the funniest things I have come across.........this past early archery season I watched a hunter walking threw the woods blowing buck grunts...he had the call in his mouth as he was slowly moving through the forest....I could not beleive it ha!...needless to say but I dont think he saw any deer

only 25 days and counting...find yourself some nice bucks...whens lucas's elk hunt again?..ill try and go for a day with you guys
