I have this bow with me at work today! This bow is a 2008 Hoyt Katera XL in camo in excellent condition. I bought this bow and have not shot it much as I bought another at the same time. The limbs are 60/70 pounds and the draw length is 29". This is a bare bow that comes with a D-loop and peep. The only mark on this is a tiny rub mark that you cannot see unless you look for it. It would not even show up in pictures. I can get some pictures together, but feel free to contact me to set up a time to check it out, it is in excellent condition, very seldom shot. $415 shipped to your door or $400 picked up. This is an EXCELLENT price on a superb Hoyt model! VERY quiet, VERY smooth!!! I have a stabilizer and rest at home, if interested. Thanks, Brian

Try to get close to the shore, close enough to cast into the water at least. The closer, the better. That should increase your odds of catching something there. Just kidding, good luck. I will live vicariously through all of the fishing stories posted, as I cannot seem to ever get out anymore.

I'm Looking for a Wench.....Haha for my truck!
My Rights As An American replied to buckfever10's topic in Classified Ads
Besides, a heavily used wench may not be worth wasting any money on. What you need is a fresh wench, something that has not had to pull too much weight, has not been overly used and can take a good licking and keep on going. -
Finally They're UP

Who is this "Amanda" person and why is she trying to make us all sane by changing topics at such a turning point in our lives? Man, I wish people would just let us all go insane just a little more by continuing to post useless comments just in order to keep the thread at the top of the page and keep people thinking "Hmmmm, just maybe they ARE up!"!!!! Oh wait, is that what I am doing? -

Amazing animals! -
Depends a lot on what you are towing the trailer with, also. I went from an older pop-up trailer that I had rebuilt to a 1993 26' Prowler and the change was like moving from downtown Phoenix to uptown Scottsdale! If you can tow a hard sided trailer, you can easily get an older one (late 1980s to mid 1990s) for $2,000 nowadays in this economy, and make everyone in your family quite a bit happier!

THE STORM!!!!
My Rights As An American replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Outstanding precip! We needed this soooooo badly! Unfortunately: 1. It all came at once, which helps to quickly fill water holes but makes it hard to soak in everywhere. 2. South-central and south-eastern Arizona avoided major amounts of precip, again. That area of the state is really in trouble in more precip does not come their way sometime soon, especially those lower deserts. Glad to see all the snow and rain pics! We sure needed this storm pretty badly!!! -

What are your thought on Predator Control?
My Rights As An American replied to IHunt2live's topic in Predator Hunting and Trapping
That may be the Three-Bar Wildlife Area outside Roosevelt Lake. I am not the expert on this at all, however, if I remember correctly, they did comparisons to inside the fenced area and outside the area, concluding that the predator depradation was extensive. I also believe that the fence had to be knocked down during the large fire back there a few years ago in order to save the animals stuck inside the area. I am not sure whatever happened consequently. -
Excellent sheds and beautiful area!

Mesa Police Would Like Your Help

Great post, thanks for spreading the word. Someone has to know at least one of these people through various connections, and you never know, it may be someone here. Reduce crime, reduce costs. -
WHAT UNIT ??????????????
My Rights As An American replied to RTAYLOR's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
If I had ever shot a big deer, I would say. All the deer that I have taken, all less than 75" (those are just fine trophies for me) have come from 33, 34A, 36A, 36B and 36C. Although these are well-known units, I never seem to connect on big ones, and have actually passed on deer bigger than the ones I have already shot. Both bow and rifle. If I get one in 2010, that will be 10 deer total for me, so I would not consider myself a master hunter. Same with javelina, one more and that will be 10 with a bow for me. -
WHAT UNIT ??????????????
My Rights As An American replied to RTAYLOR's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
kkay, I completely understand your point. I, too, hunt some units that are quite locked up already, and adding hunters to these areas or having them closed down would not be a great thing from a very selfish perspective. Like you, I prefer to put on the pack, hike an hour or two before first light and hunt from there. More rewarding and better exercise for me! -

AMEN! Oh, can I say that? -
WOW, just WOW! I wish you had a picture of the back of the truckbed full of your sheds from that trip! I think I might go into cardiac arrest (just joking, hopefully!).

WHAT UNIT ??????????????
My Rights As An American replied to RTAYLOR's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I am always afraid to ask what unit for fear of this kind of response, but I too like to know the unit simply for getting more to the story. I have lots of areas that I hunt, all of them are public anyway, but I do not give them away to anyone not closely related to me because I do not know who they will tell. More times than I care to admit, I have given quite generic and sometimes incorrect information to those same beer holding, road hunting slobs that often never leave the view of their vehicle. However, asking the unit does not mean you are giving away your honey hole by any stretch. It adds to the story. I also like knowing the terrain. The terrain I hunt whitetails the last few years has not been pinon juniper or scrub oaks, but seeing pictures of these beautiful deer that people are shooting enriches the story and gets me the itch to get higher into the hills. Right now I hunt lower elevations, around 2800-3300 feet, but I sure like to see those pictures of 5000-7000 foot elevations with nice deer. Especially for that early hunt in late October when the temps are still pushing 90+ daily. I guess what I am saying is that asking the unit should not be a sin, nor frowned upon. Hunting units are huge, and giving away secret spots is not the same as giving away unit numbers. -
Obama picks another winner
My Rights As An American posted a topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Check this one out, for content-apropriateness only. I am not encouraging a debate on one's sexual preferences. I am just shocked at the brazenness of this. Obama and his "leadership" selections leave much to be desired. http://biggovernment.com/2009/12/09/fistga...n-your-partner/ -

I have always wanted to do a Texas hog hunt, maybe combined with some other species of deer or rams. Does anyone have any leads that they could IM me of some reasonably priced hunts in Texas for this? The best I can find is three days of hogs for $650 (no trophy fees), plus one small Texas dall ram on a low fence hunt, that I am somewhat leery about (license not included). I am trying to convince my wife that we can afford this small trip for me, but it would help if I could find something even less expensive but still offer opportunities. I have to think that this economy has got some people offering deals! I have two other people interested, so at least three hunters would be going. I could do either bow or rifle, but would prefer not to do a high fence or high trophy fee hunt. I just want to shoot some hogs and maybe an "exotic" or whitetail doe or small buck. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks again!
