I believe there have been a few confirmed reports of ocelots, but lynx as we know them generally are much farther north.

Meat Grinder Recommendations?
My Rights As An American replied to rossislider's topic in Cooking Wild Foods
I have the small cabelas grinder that I bout about 10 years ago for $100. put many deer, pigs and elk through it with little problems. Friend bought the brand that sportsman's warehouse carries and it broke in under one minute (I know because I am the one who broke it). Do not get anything with plastic gears. Well worth buying your own after the first animal you process yourself. -
With all of this talk lately about jaguars, I thought I would bring up a topic that I have not talked about in years----jaguarundi. Has anyone seen one in the wild? About 8 years ago, I was hunting deer late in the evening and after not seeing anything sitting, I decided to walk some flats and very large washes to see if I can catch something lower. As I popped out of a deep wash, something jumped up about 10 yards in front of me and I quickly raised my rifle thinking fox. After a VERY good look at it, I knew something was not right and that is was not a fox. It had a very long, slender body with short legs and a flat, cat-like face with whiskers. The body was jet black. It was the first and only time that I KNOW for sure that I saw a jaguarundi. Anyone ever seen one in Arizona outside of the zoo and the internet? This is a jaguarundi: http://www.pima.gov/cmo/sdcp/species/fsheets/jag.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaguarundi And no, I will NOT reveal the location, so please do not ask!

VERY cool that you have a trail cam pic of one! They are supposedly extremely rare to be photographed. I hope I do not stir anything up but I was interested to see if anyone else had seen one. Thanks for responding. Would really like to see that trail cam pic someday in person if possible, I think they are really neat animals!!!

Don't you mean Michael Bolton? I hate that no-talent assclown! Sorry, I had to make the reference to Office Space, great movie! Lighten up the mood a little for everyone on both sides of this!!! -
VERY cool!!! Reminds me of Yellowstone when the bulls are hanging in HUGE groups (that was, before the wolves decimated the herds!!!!). Thanks for sharing.

Only fished it once or twice, but caught fish each time in short periods using a panther martin in 1/32 and SUPER light line. I have a great memory of there with my daughter who was probably 18 months old and I brought her down the steep trail on the south (?) side and caught two fish in about 45 minutes. She wanted so bad to hold them. Shore was rocky and hard for her to stand but she stood there nicely and fished with me. Then I carried her all the way back up that trail on my shoulders. GREAT memory!!!!!!!!!!! I have thought back on that moment quite a few times and smiled ear to ear! I think that south side trail is the best one to use because less people use it. Lots of shoreline access. Have to think a small crayfish lure would work well, but not sure.

Flagstaff recorded almost 1.75 inches yesterday. BUSY day!!! Looks like the NWS shows that 1.14 inches fell at the airport in 9 minutes!!!!

WESTBORO BABTIST PROTEST PRESCOTT

They want confrontation because it gives them an audience and an income stream when they sue. These people are disgusting but they live on the revenue from lawsuits! -
WESTBORO BABTIST PROTEST PRESCOTT
My Rights As An American replied to gonehuntin's topic in The Campfire
Would it not better for the City of Prescott to issue peaceful demonstration permits to line both sides of the road all the way to the funeral and all the sites around there to the general public prior to these scumbags? That way everything is done legally and the scumbags will have no course of action? -
Now THAT is some good cooking right there! Fresh fish in Alaska is the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!
