  1. You must be super Covid bored!
  2. I just realized I never posted an update to this thread. Lame!................. My gramps killed his ram at 80 years old with his bow on the 3rd day of the hunt. This was his final animal to give him the AZ Big 10 with a bow. (That makes four of us in the family who have been able to do so!). It was an epic day to say the least.

    Looking for B&C official Measurer

Corky Richardson lives in West Valley (My dad). Not sure if you got hooked up with Ed, as they were both together at Cabelas. Good luck!
  4. We will definitely keep you all updated. It is going to be a great experience. This is Gramps' final animal with a bow for the AZ Big 10. It will be special. He has a 5BS archery bull tag first up in Sept.
  5. My grandfather, George Richardson, has finally drawn his sheep tag! Gramps, as everyone calls him, has been putting in since the 60's with no luck and was a max point holder. Gramps has been on all 4 sheep hunts that my family has drawn through the years, and now it is finally his turn. Gramps turns 80 on Nov 1st and will be spending the month of December in 44BN chasing rams with his bow. My Gramps is in extremely great shape for any man, let alone an 80 year old, but this unit is going to be perfect for him. Lots of sheep, potential for big ramps, and plenty of archery conducive terrain. Can't wait! -Russ

    Sheep draw

Awesome! I am happy to have you over to the house and show what you I know. I did not go with a guide last year, but if you do, there is absolutely no question that the Koon's brothers and Jason Sherwood know those units better than anyone! It is a true wilderness adventure hunt right here in AZ.

    Upcoming Buffalo Hunt

Hey gang, Make sure and go to the AZGFD seminar for tag holders. My father Corky Richardson and our good friend Russ Jacoby will be MUCH help to everyone. High success rates are very dependent upon working together, coordinating who will sit where, making sure you don't walk in on each other, staying off main roads, camping out of the buffalo areas, etc..... I know this seems odd compared to most hunts when everyone seems to be scrambling to beat their fellow hunters to the best spots, the next ridge, nearest bugle, etc.. The hunt is much different now that the buffalo do not go down onto the ranch. (I think the last year they were down was in 2009 when I had a permit. I was lucky enough to hunt both of my bison when they were down on the ranch. It was a lot more fun not having to worry about the park boundry) We just came off the Kaibab yesterday. My wife Lauren shot her cow with her bow on Friday afternoon and the next day our hunting partners shot two more cows with rifles. (Two hunters working together two shoot cows out of the same herd). Call Russ Jacoby or my father Corky if you want more information or want to discuss fully guided hunts. It is a blast! Work together and you will all have more success! Russ

Who has the 6A Sheep Tag?

A heard of about 20 Ewes was literally standing in the road this morning. 260 just above camp verde.
  11. My mother, Cindi Richardson, took her 13th bull with a bow this past week. Needless to say, I am very proud to call this woman my mother. She is a heck of a lady. The G2 on the left is 27 inches long! We green scored it at approsimately 429 Gross and 407 net. (Who really cares though!)
