I haven't tried yet... Lol. Wear all grey and slather in synth doe piss... Don't let them get too close though, they might get a little frisky...

    Broadhead tuning help please!

Also, I have a 1/2doz of the same arrows that are about 1/4in shorter than the ones I've been using. Is that enough of a difference to affect the spine or not really noticeable?

I'll give it a shot maybe tomorrow. It's a little windy today and I want to eliminate variables in this. I don't plan on shooting at anything living past 40 yards or so, should I still BH tune at 30yd. I assume to give the arrow time to react and really see what it's doing? At 50 yd I feel like a medieval archer aiming in the air and then waiting for the arrow to hit. It's kind of cool though. I can usually get all of them in the circle though, just 40 is about where the groups start getting too big for shot placement on an animal.

    Broadhead tuning help please!

Where the rest was before with FPs, not too bad. They hit pretty straight. I haven't tried BHs at 30yd yet since I only have a little 18in target and all the ranges in Tucson say no BHs... GBA, I used 3" vanes with right helical after reading about the spin helping BHs. I also used te 3" since they were shorter than the blazers as I was worried about rest contact wth the old spring rest.

Good tips scooter! I'm in the same boat as the OP as this is my first season trying to kill anything with a bow. I'm at the broadhead tuning phase and having a bit of trouble. I finally bought a cheapo black hole target so now I can sling a few everyday at 10-15 yards in the back yard. 20-whatever if I head to my mom's place and set up in the alley!

    Broadhead tuning help please!

Thanks for the replies guys. Yeah I was gonna try my best, but like you said if it doesn't it doesn't and I'll sight in the BHs and call it good. All I want to do is get the old thing set up to kill a pig then it's going back to my bro ready to shoot. But I would like to get it shooting as well as possible. Question: if I center it back to where it was and I then take a turn or two out of the limbs and they start grouping together, that will prove the underspine theory without having to buy new BHs right?

    Broadhead tuning help please!

That was gonna be my last option, just sight in for the broadheads and call it good. And yeah, I gotcha elkhunter! But all this dang reading on broadhead tuning I want to get it right! Heat, I'm using one of these... I told ya it was old school.

    Broadhead tuning help please!

I know the last pic I was probably getting a bit tired, losing a bit of form. But the shots still felt ok and I could see the arrows fly funky (old slow bow, lol. It's fun to watch them arc at 40 and 50yd!). And then the weird impact angles... It just seems weird to me that they NEVER lined up or grouped even when I was still shooting tight groups of FPs and BHs... I think that rest got adjusted at least 1/4" to the left, seems way far from where it was and do those impact angles prove it is too far?

    37A/34A Archery

I have the same hunt. Haven't scouted too much, but plan to stick mostly in 34a as I live on the south side of Tucson anyway. I know where a couple herds are in the flats by Sahuarita I'm gonna try to track. Other than that I haven't had the time to get out and try to glass some up.

    35B help please Black Friday...

Depends on the temps and the wind. If it's real cold I'd hit those south slopes that get more sun. Same thing with the wind, really windy, check the lee sides is the hills and ridges.

    Wow 2013
