Need kitchen cabinet/counters remodel suggestions/advice
Saguaro replied to Viper's topic in Classified Ads
If you decide to replace the cabinets, save the old ones. We did that in the house I’m now living in when we remodeled the kitchen in the late 90s. The left over cabinets and base cabinets went into our workshop and were now our storage and work surfaces if you don’t have a workshop, talk to someone who could use them rather than chitcanning them. I recently remodeled it when I bought the house and painted the old cabinets and bases and relocated them a little. Of course the old cabinets won’t fit like a glove in a space that wasn’t measured out like the kitchen was, but you can get creative with the layout and come up with ideas that complement the old stuff. Look at the pics. I know they’re not the best resolution, but you can get the idea. You can see the old microwave and hood location in its new spot. This are just a few pics I have saved. -
I’m located in Holbrook. I travel to the valley to visit friends and could make the handoff if others from there are interested in any of the other items I have listed in other threads. Same goes for the places in between like Payson etc. I also travel regularly to Show Low and Flagstaff.

Tool cabinet $220 sheet metal Safe. Doesn’t lock, I’m sure it’s a part needed from the supplier but I’d rather get rid of it. It’s sheet metal and looks like one of the Stack On®️ type that you get from Sportsman’s. Make offer. Misc Hobby boxes. $10 each or all for $25.

One dog story I remember hearing about dogs and turf is when a smart German Shepherd went to its newly installed turf and was just studying it for a while and it couldn’t figure out what it was. The dog ended up finding a corner of the turf and peeled back a little and dug down past all of the underlayment until it reached the native soil and stopped. It’s like it knew it was wrong or at least different than normal grass and had to investigate it. After that, it never messed with it again.

How does that turf handle dog excrement? I guess if it’s in solid form it won’t be a big deal but if it’s a little runny, does it get stinky?

Sounds like a rough road got it stranded since you can’t drive right up to it. I’m glad it worked out.

That sucks. Sorry to hear that and good luck. I guess the good thing is that it’s next to a road and will be easy to get to when you have the parts. I can’t imagine you were driving it off road.

Never met him but traded pms a few times. Every post he made about hunting makes me think I’ve met him somewhere. He has a habit of mentioning all of the areas I go and people I know.
-
Sad. What happened? He seemed jovial lately.

I’ve got a Bushnell 2-6 gloss. PM me if interested. I’m in Holbrook.

It was one of my favorite units for years. Well actually 3A was, most mean 3C when talking about the unit. It’s still good though. Roads are everywhere so you won’t have an issue getting around.

Where can I find out about this? It seems too unbelievable. No way does the state need to promote hunting, the hunting in our state promotes itself. Where else would you want to elk hunt or stand a good chance to get a book antelope or deer?
-
Good luck. You won’t get much help with this crowd. Unless it’s a shelf item they can get at Sportsman’s or Cabelas, they can’t picture what you’re talking about.

I agree with briant. There has to be a reason for them to do anything. If they show up and ask for your money, guns and truck, just give it to them and you will survive. Don’t give them a reason to harm you at the checkpoints that look like they’re checkpoints run by the military or police.

Looking to get an Anschutz 1727 Fortner action in left hand and 22lr. Just checking to see if anyone here would like to get rid of theirs.

Scammers are getting creative. I bet that pm will lure some guys. If you think about it, guys like to hunt. Guys also like to fornicate. This kind of pm would be attractive because it takes away a lot of work required to secure a mate and the lonely, or manwhores could be sucked right in with the idea that a woman who uses words like sexy in a pm also likes to hunt. What could be better? It must be my lucky day.

Thanks for sharing. Cool find! Glad to see you took safety serious, at least more than I would have done with the helmet and all. Keep this place secret. All I see is places getting screwed up because once places like this are known, it’s like a magnet to others. Just look at what happened in Utah with that metal monument in the middle of nowhere.

It really is a better way to live. I just moved back to my hometown after spending 15 years in the valley. I would brag about me not having a lot of stuff. It turned out I had way too much. I figured out I was one of the catch all’s in the family that would hang on to things for the others. I would end up with bedroom sets when a relative died in Tucson. That was fine because the spare bedroom was empty and now it was set up. Add a few more deaths, and relatives that want me to hang onto items like desks until they can come back and get it or wait until I drive across the country and drop it off. Add the meaningless items like the hand me down artwork, pots and pans, and tools that I already have and it starts piling up. Now that I moved into the new house, I said it’s time to start over. I’m getting rid of all things that serve no useful purpose. The house I bought has nice things, so I have to be careful chitcanning an oak mirror cabinet that was $1800 when new. Those things I will try to sell. The other positive that comes out of minimalism is what happens when you depart. The family will like it more if they can handle your property in a weekend rather than taking a month to sort out your junk.

It looks like it hasn’t been messed with that much. Not like the ruins in 3a. From 1995 til about 2003, all the ones I knew about have been excavated around Holbrook and Snowflake. One is still untouched but I expect it to be gone soon as the wind turbines brought roads closer to it. I wish I could have caught the people that did it while they were in the act.

Thanks for offering it to left handed shooters.

I like all kinds of music, country is one of those. I think I like the 90s more than the modern stuff although there are some good recent songs. I always thought it would be nice to hear dirty country music like rap and some heavy metal is. The country music stars couldn’t bring themselves to that level because they are full of church and other morals. Still, if there were a few out there were flawed like most of the population, I think they could make a lot of money doing that.
