I saw the same thing last year and laughed my butt off. I'm sure it's a joke to the person that has them. Maybe it gives him something to talk about. I can understand, I'm kind of a joker.

remington 700 sendero nightmare
Saguaro replied to 5guyshunting's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I think it's the scope or mounts. Try playing with those two things and let us know what you find out. That gun should be a lot better than that. I think there are more lemons in scopes than rifles. Someone mentioned crown, explore that and also bedding. -
Shotshell reloading worth the effort?
Saguaro replied to bigorange's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
You're right. I only mess around with pistols, and do not have the progressive reloading set-up. Pistols are real labor intensive with the rock chucker type so I decided to quit reloading them. I have never even been around shot shell reloading so I can't really give good advise there. Rifles seem to be one of my favorite things ever so the time spent on them does not seem wasted. That may be the way to look at shot shell or pistols. -
Shotshell reloading worth the effort?
Saguaro replied to bigorange's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
To me it's a matter of time. I am not really a shotgun guy though. I am planning to get out of pistol reloading soon because of the time vs return. For me, I can notice a big difference in accuracy in rifle reloads vs factory, not in pistols. There is where I will now focus my time and effort. In the next week or so, I should have lots of pistol components up for sale in the classifieds. -

Would you be interested in trades? I have about 100 once fired 22lr. -
No problem. You could also try Navajo and Apache county records department, that worked out for me one time. Since you have several months, collect your info and present it to them. I had to wait maybe a week to get the information back, it may be faster now. You can also try the AZ State Land Department in downtown Phoenix to get the maps you need. It is fast cheap and easy. Again, remember to stop on the highway between Holbrook and St. John's to take a look.

A lot has changed since I had my Antelope tag there in 1998. The landowners back then were fine with just about anyone that asked for their permission. Now, those same ones will deny most everyone. Some of the best areas can be seen from the highway, don't forget that.

Nothing here, 4 points for Elk, 17 for Antelope.

Incredible! I would be thrilled with just the Mule Deer horns.

I just picked up a 22 mag from them today. Great experience, will go back to them again. I was loyal to another store for years and lately got the can't do or even try attitude, so I gave Healy a shot and am very happy I did. Thanks again!!

I've been in 2b a lot. There are small groups of Resident Elk, but not huge numbers. It looks to be more of a winter habitat. Like you said if you scout it a lot you won't have a problem, but expect the local Springerville and St. John folks to have the advantage of the bigger Bulls. Don't let that discourage you, as in any Elk unit in AZ, big Bulls can be taken by anyone. The biggest I've seen there are in the 320-350 range, but have talked to people who have taken and have seen pictures of bigger ones. Good luck and let us know how it went.
