It looks like they killed Dick Matt

I was never a member, I would sign in with a buddy's password just to see the pics. I remember there was a young guy on there that really liked posing and posting his picture. I got a kick out of that. It's been so long since I've been on there, I had no idea it's gone. For Arizona, this is the best place.

I've been dreaming of a new toy for quite a while now. I would like a real accurate 22 cal centerfire that would push a 45 or 50 grn bullet around 3000 fps. I already have a m700 in 223, so I was thinking about a 22 K Hornet or a 221 Fireball. I made up my mind that it will be a Cooper Custom rifle. Does anyone have experience with the K Hornet or the Fireball? How about Cooper Rifles? Any ideas/opinions are appreciated. Thanks

I've read it, own a copy. I was the same way, once I started I had to finish.

What unit is everyone hunting on Friday?

azbackwoods, good luck. That is my favorite hunt. Let me/us know how it went please. -
Anyone heard the prank calls from Howard Stern's Richard and Sal? Some of them are real good. Those two are a real good part of the show. It's not just their Tradio prank calls, other types of calls are real funny too.

Need Help with choosing .243 or 7mm-08 Remington/Savage or Ruger???
Saguaro replied to Stallone A.'s topic in Youth Hunters
Just wondering why you pick the Remington over the savage? All my guns are Remington however a lot of people are leaning me towards the savage axis II? Just a personal preference. Most of the shooters I've been around make jokes about Savage being cheap and tacky. That's just opinion a far as I'm concerned. Like you, I have heard a lot of good things about them. I also talk to talented gunsmiths that will build a custom Savage for someone and make it sound like the greatest thing ever, so I can respect that too. I have 3 model 700's and 2 of those are custom jobs. Remington has always been a personal favorite of mine, and no matter what I hear about Savage, I can't bring myself to buy one. Lots of people may say the same about Remington. -
Need Help with choosing .243 or 7mm-08 Remington/Savage or Ruger???

Pretty good advise so far. My opinion would be to get him a 270 WIN. That was my first centerfire and I still use it from time to time because it's a light and proven rifle. Mine is a Browning A-Bolt stainless stalker that has a 19" barrel with a BOSS and likely has 1500 rounds through it over 25 years. Even as a young kid, I could manage the recoil and comfortably carry it wherever I went. As for Remington or Savage, I would go with Remington. -

Take it to PCR. It's worth the time. Brad did my rifle and I'm very happy with it. -
Welcome. You should do well. There is a thread somewhere on here of a guy that took a real big non-typical during the archery hunt. I do not have any real good info for you as I do not spend time in that unit other than shed hunting. From what I hear, it might be good to focus near the Park Boundary.

Phoenix City Grille. It's near 16th Street and Bethany Home. I stop in when I'm working in that area to get my grub on.

I liked him. I enjoy the Comedians that use the big F-word, it adds a lot to the entertainment value of a performance.

Planes will be much cheaper. Good luck and try to get a high wing Cessna. If your real lucky, you might find someone with a STOL kit and you can cruise at 40 mph.

Barnes 145 grn LRX for 280 Ackley Improved
Saguaro posted a topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Does anyone out there reload for the 280 Ack. and use the 145 grn LRX bullet? It seems like it should be a real good bullet. I have a 26" number 2 barrel if that makes a difference. I have plenty of 4831 and IMR 4350, but I'm open to other powders. Just looking for suggestions and a little advise on where to do some research. If not the 145 grn, what are your best loads for the 140 or 150 grn? Thanks for the help. -
I'm right handed and would shoot right handed if I could. I have a vision problem in my right eye that forces me to shoot left handed. The problem was found when I was in Kindergarden when they test your eyes and ears. Since then, I was trained to shoot left handed. I can't see anyone in their right mind shooting left handed otherwise. There are just way too many options for right handed shooters. All of my dad's rifles are right handed and I have no issue shooting them. He bought me my first left bolt when I was about 13, and that was all I used for years. I got to where I could cycle the bolt really well and just kept buying left bolts ever since.

I'm a left-handed shooter. Everywhere I go I always look for them. All I've seen lately is Tikka, Savage and maybe some expensive Brownings. I would recommend ordering one you want. If you're looking for used, can't really help you. Keep looking in the classifieds, I bought a used Model 700 from someone on here about a year ago so they're out there just keep looking. Good luck.

Antmo23, I think you'd be surprised how many agree with you. I lean more to your side. As said before, Religion, or lack of is a very hot button issue and relationships are wrecked or made very uncomfortable because of it. That's too bad.

I was lucky growing up. My family did go to church but never made it a weekly requirement. In the last 20 years, I've been in that church house maybe 9 times. I agree with Trophy, nature is my church and I worship all the time.

I've seen some shady people on that road before. I like that area for shed hunting. I hope they put it out soon.

More short videos of some awesome 3A-3C deer and lots of kill shots. Good luck on the draw!!

I agree with you, way too many roads. 3A is better and one of my favorite units. Too bad about the wind turbines on the Pink Cliffs though. -
I hope the truth comes out. If it is poached, post the names please.

With a name like Lefty, I was really hoping these would be left-handed rifles.
