I haven't heard of any of this. Second Knoll near the pig farms?

I don't know why anyone would do business in the residential market. I did work as an employee in the residential field for about 8 years for a GC. I've now been in commercial as an employee for 11 years for a GC. I really notice the difference between the two. Residential is much tougher. In commercial it seems there are much better subs. Also the clients seem to know what costs really are. An example would be Asbestos testing. In residential, people would freak out at the $800 cost. If areas tested hot, then the abatement costs are up there. Another would be fees for Special ins. Permit fees ( county, local, adeq, impact), haul fees, dumpsters, porta johns, etc. All are necessary and I've seen push back in Residential, not much in Commercial.

I didn't answer your question. Yes you can hunt with a two wheel drive. I know plenty of people that do. One in my home town has only had two wheel drives for as long as I've known him. He has taken some nice deer. He's a huntin fool too.

I would say 4x4 truck. The reason is because of their practicality. You can run to the Depot and toss 10' whatever in the bed on a Tuesday and run to the desert on a Friday. It also helps if you need 4x4 not just to get unstuck, but for the control factor. Sometimes 4x4 keeps you from wheel hop or controlling speed when descending hills. The idea of trailering an ATV is fine, but then you have another expense and items to maintain. Another SUV is fine too, but be careful, because before long, you will have toys and vehicles that cost you a couple thousand a year just to have. That's just my opinion. I'm single and without a wife and kids. If I did, I might have those items everyone mentions because they would be fun for the family and also they could fit in the SUV. If nothing else, 4x4 is a must. It's so nice to turn a knob and pass right through or over or up most anything. This is a good topic.

Hmmm, so what was the strange object in the sky this morning?
Saguaro replied to down2hunt's topic in The Campfire
I saw it this morning. The coolest thing I've seen in a while. It turned the night into day for a second or two. We had a big concrete pour that started at midnight, so there were a lot of us. It was cool to be around a big group of people and get to see their reactions. -
I love those low desert bucks. I also suck at killing them. They always see me and run.

I love both places. I wouldn't mind either one. Like someone said earlier, you can buy an over the counter tag as a non resident if archery is your thing. I think the price is fair too, $250 or so.

I cant speak for unit 10. One time I believe in 1994 I had a deer permit in 8 with my dad and BIL. I think there were about 800 permits at that time, maybe more. Hunters were everywhere and all we were seeing were does. One day we were in the truck road hunting and spotted a fork running down a hill that had an obvious wound. We bailed out and I dropped it. I walk up to it, it gets up and runs down another hill. All we heard were people unloading on it below the hill about 50 yards away. We left right away. That deer went through at least three people before it was killed, it was kind of scary. I wont hunt unit 8 anymore because of that. You might want to plan on wearing a little blaze orange. I wouldn't have any problem doing that if I was in your shoes. That's a lot of people for those two days, especially since a lot of them might take long range shots.

I would say that's a good deal, not seeing the rifle. I always wanted one of those but never made the deal because of their proprietary components. I'm a lefty so I wouldn't be able to use it. I didn't know they would build from a Sako. Did you have them build it? I would love to see pics.

I like Outdoor Writer too. No way he even knows who I am. He seemed to know a lot about the history of our State and hunting stuff.

I saw your post and I thought there was still luck. I checked my account earlier and saw there were some funds missing. I checked and saw a charge from the AZ Dept of .......................................................Revenue. I seriously thought I had an Elk and Antelope permit. I almost made a mess in my pants. It was my tax payment.

Another couple questions- Where are you located? Are they Fuel Injected? Are you willing to sell separately? Thanks

Thanks for the heads up. Just updated or I would have spaced it out. That's never happened to me before, it seems like I'm too busy lately.

1994 Flagstaff pop up. Used once in two years. It has a refrigerator, heater, three burner stove and sink. I haven't used any of these items as I used it to sleep in only so I can't say for sure if they work. There is one section where the canvas has about a 6" tear. The water faucet is broken but there is a spare new one. $1099.99

$1000 firm. I'll keep it if it doesn't sell. Not sure about the fridge and heater, I'll check into it, but can't do it right away.

here is one I see often.
-
It sleeps 4-6 people. Still available.

Price reduced to $1099.99

dang, guess I'm going to Clay Goldman next time I get something worth mounting. Very nice.

Snakes scare me too. After I get spooked by a rattler, it seems like I'm looking more for snakes rather than deer. Sometimes, it's over if I can't get my head straight again. I'll try again later, or the next day.

Don't worry about lions, nothing will ever happen with them. They will disappear before you see them. Headlamps work well. I'm not a fan of the cold, so I pick different areas as you would in the winter. I'm hardcore I guess in the fall. During that time, my biggest fear ever is a skunk at night/early morning.

ANYONE HUNT CALIFORNIA QUAIL HERE?
Saguaro replied to billrquimby's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Bill, that Petroglyph Park was a place they liked to hang out. There is a plant that grows along the Leroux they seem to like. I'm not sure of the name or spelling but I've heard it called Chamisse? It's the plant you see people harvesting along I-40 near Sanders. -
ANYONE HUNT CALIFORNIA QUAIL HERE?
Saguaro replied to billrquimby's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
There are still Scaled Quail in Holbrook. Not as many as there were in the mid to late 90s. Back then you would see them at the Airport and the Hennesy Butes. The last time I saw any was about two years ago near Navajo, there were maybe 6 together. -
Also remember to treat the scale with the highest respect. Don't drop it or be rough with it. Always be thinking about it through the process. It's easy to get sloppy with these. Once you zero it, you can't bump it or it throws off your charge. One thing I learned is to use two scales. That way I can check things better as I go. You can even mix it up with electronic and the conventional bar level type.

One thing I think works well is reading through a reloading manual. Not just the load data. Speer manuals have a lot of good stuff in the first half. It explains brass, pressures, and a lot of other scientific type things that are real good reads. I still read through the old and new manuals. That's my advice, start with a manual, then get your setup. All of the rounds you mentioned are popular so you won't have any trouble and some are even used as examples in the pages before the load data.
