CWT group effort Wildcat Rifle build
Saguaro replied to Zeke-BE's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I've heard of people doing this before. They use a small amount of wax to cap it off. -

CWT group effort Wildcat Rifle build

Nice gun, one of the better builds I've seen in a while on here. I may have to copy you if you don't mind. I could call mine a 6.5-280 AI. Stomp442 I may reach out to you in the future. I don't own a Tikka, but might have to look for one now. -
Basic rules is they get to call home on Christmas and Mothers Day, other than that it is all letters and email.Just the way it is set up....... That has to be tough, especially for parents. Can he ask for permission to call more frequently?

Nice job. I'm sure you put in a lot of work.

Come on guys. You know what it says in the Bible about not forgiving? It's against it, right?😎

IA Born is right. It doesn't get any better than a Model 41. I keep looking around for them with the hopes I find one some day, I would have no problem buying a used one. For semi autos, I have a Sig Trailside that has never given me any trouble and it has a real nice trigger. I don't think they make them any more but if you find one check it out. I also have an old Colt Woodsman. It's a fun gun, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone because I can give me problems from time to time. The fun part about it is that it has a scope on it. I like these types of threads. We don't always have to discuss the big bores and 1000 yard guns.

I really like Ruger. Their model 77 and revolvers are my favorite from them, their other firearms you can have, I'm not interested. The triggers can use a lot of work. I have the single nine 22 mag and a Super Redhawk 44 mag. Both have had trigger work done and they are to die for. I can't speak for the semi autos but have read good things about them. My opinion is to get the single six. Good luck, it should be fun either way.

I'm not a rider, too dangerous for me. I'll ride in the hills in the dirt if I have to. I remember reading about a study involving accidents between cyclists and vehicles years ago. The study showed that the ones involved in most accidents are the ones that wear all of the get up like helmets, spandex, gloves, shoes and shirts with logos. It's like the drivers noticed them and considered them pros and didn't give them room. At least not the room they would give a redneck or hillbilly seen riding a bike in the same situation, they were extra careful around those type of people because there was a sense they were accident prone. So if you're a rider, loose all of the ppe and you should be safer.

It was in unit 27. I forget where the thread you are talking about is, but I think it was a 'where am I' topic. I believe the old ranch where it happened is called XXX. I'm sure the ranch got its name before the Adult Film industry took it.

Great find this past weekend.

Very nice find. Careful with what you do to it. I found this video a while back- https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jfcUwMWxJ2U -
what to do when an angry bear approaches?
Saguaro replied to portas.d.ace's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
I never had any encounters. I usually carry pepper spray so I can spray my friend in the face and get away. -
Nice Buck. Good luck with your sheep tag.

I would hate to be next to anyone that makes a lot of noise out in the tulies. Sometimes it might be fun especially if there's pretty ladies around. Most of the time when I'm out hunting I just come back to camp and I'm sleeping within a half hour because I'm so exhausted. There are a few times where I am in just the right mood and would join in the party. Not too many, but its happened before. Its mostly hanging out in a local bars that are a long way from home where most people don't know me and I can get away with a lot. I have had some good times in bars. If its a real serious hunt, I would just move down the road or go to a motel for one night.

Zeke, That Steiner scope sounds good. I cant find it in MOA. Do they make that 5-25x56 in MOA? If so, please show me where to find it because I would like to put that on a 6.5 Creedmoor I'm having built.

Bedding is positive. Now is the time since your rifle is taken apart. Go for it.

A Fun Little Gun Followed Me Home
Saguaro replied to Hoss50's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I get on line and read and watch videos of rifles every day. I keep running across this rifle. The only experience I have with the 7.62x39 is in the SKS, Mini 30, and AK47 rifles. I have never been able to shoot better than about 6" groups at 100 yards, so I'm not a real fan of the round. But this rifle seems to talk to me, I probably would have bought it too for a few reasons. I don't have kids but this seems like a good introduction rifle for them because its so cheap to shoot, a 30 Cal, and has open sights. That's the way to learn shooting in my opinion. It would also be a good introduction to accurate reloading because I know the bolt action will be more accurate than the semi autos and along the way the kid can learn brass prep and all of the tricks to reload properly and be able to see the results better than a round like the 223 that is far more accurate. For me I see it as an experiment or another hobby to get a round that has a not so good accuracy reputation and play around with to get to shoot better trying all of the home remedies like bedding, crown and reloading. The specs mention that it may not work with American Ammo. I would be surprised if it didn't work. Please let us know more about how it performs. I'm more interested in is its grouping at 100 yards. -
Anyone interested in Long Range Rifle deal?

I didn't see left-hand options. Do they make left handed rifles? -

It is Hutch Road, close to Chevlon Retreat. I was joyriding around a few months ago killing time and found it in the road on its side. Went back weeks later and saw that someone moved it away from the road and tore it up some more. I feel for those people that live out there. Some nice homes, and then some people that are just looking for a place to cook meth.

Snapshot got me thinking about this one. I think someone will guess this right away since there are hunts and scouting that have been going on since I took this pic. I really like these "where am I" topics.

It looks like this now. Someone pulled it off of the road and beat it up more.

4b, yes. Did you see it out there?
