I'm hoping someone makes this into a movie. It's not really an AZ movie, but a 4 corners movie. It's about the guys that attempted to rob the Ute Casino and got into a shootout. https://books.google.com/books/about/Dead_Run.html?id=0s4s2RlNUcMC&hl=en

The Getaway (1994) was pretty good.

I don't have a favorite, but Easy Rider is up there because so much was filmed in Az. A few from near my town are Natural Born Killers Midnight Run Another Oliver Stone movie was U Turn, filmed in Superior. I'm real surprised there are not that many movies filmed here. Most movies that have Az as a location, only have a small part filmed here.

Just ordered myself a new rifle

I can't find the Browning Heck's Canyon, only heck's Canyon. Is the Heck's Canyon new? Edit: I guess it automatically turns the h word into heck. -
I will follow up with the department tomorrow, but want to see if anyone here knows the answer. I have a friend that is interested in hunting. He is not a citizen yet, but has a SS card. He's been here for almost 28 years legally and works. I just finished up my application and noticed there is the question about being a US citizen, and if not, the dept will generate a number for you as a foreign person. He already has a SS, so why generate the number. Anyone have experience with a case like this? Can he even handle a firearm legally?

I can't make it this year. I usually tag along with people that get a table, but can't this year. I bought a few tickets for the 3 rifle raffle and noticed Rich Williams is the President. That's great. I worked around him for 12 years and really got to know him. He did a lot for the NWTF. He also did a lot of work in the electrical field for apprentices. He is very well connected.

I'm looking for a talented person, or gunsmith that works on Smith and Wesson revolvers. I'm about to buy the 617 and would like to have the trigger worked up to be smooth and crisp. Do any of you guys know of one that stands out above the rest here in Arizona? thanks

I'm right handed but have to shoot left. Always have, ever since they found a problem with my right eye in kindergarten during the eye and vision tests. I inherited a few rifles from my dad that are right handed. The rifles I buy, must be left handed. I now have 8 with two on the way. I always held a pistol in my right hand until recently, I found I shoot them better in my left hand. Maybe it has to do with form. Pistols now have to be ambi for me to buy. Bows always have been left handed. It really bothers me because all of the best rifles are right hand.

I too feel lucky to have had a dad around every day. Boys need to have someone tell them to stop crying and walk it off. I think there is hope for the next generation. I went shooting by myself last weekend. I don't know what the area is called, but it's at the end of the Bush Highway north of the Bee Line. I did my shooting and then spent some time exploring the country. All kinds of people were out. No one was really rude, but I would say they could learn some manners. The kids, 9 - 12 year olds, that were riding their machines were nicer than the people in their 20s 30s & 40s. After that, it was the older, 50+, that were nice. The kids and older people would do things like get out of the way quicker than the others when riding on the roads and approaching vehicles. Also they would do things like smile and wave.

A question to all who support wildlife groups
Saguaro replied to 125coues's topic in Contests and Giveaways!
I think rifles, muzzleloaders and bows. I'm left handed so I would like to see options. Options would be like this- "Remington Rifle Raffle" if you win, you pick the rifle. If you're left handed, you get the left hand version. I know some of the people that donate the rifles to the orgs let people to this. Some even let you pick the caliber. Options like this would be real nice. -
All good questions, which I could help. One thing I did was buy two, I believe, 530 models used from a guy at work. I gave one to my brother in law. The other I transferred about 500 waypoints to using the radios and sending it to the new unit, one by one from my 110 which I still use (i just like it more) that's about 15 years old. From there, I transferred the waypoints to the computer using the software that came with the 530. I try to do this about every two years, it's cool to see the places you've been. It's also nice to have a back up gps/radio.

This is a real good idea. I can't make it this time. I am real interested in going to these in the future. I'm not going to be the best shot out there, but I'm sure I will learn things I haven't thought about. Let me know the next time one of these is organized.

Nice place. I like to hear people use quality products like Dunn Edwards. Most people think Home Depot is the end all be all..

I've heard of people doing this before. They use a small amount of wax to cap it off. -

Nice gun, one of the better builds I've seen in a while on here. I may have to copy you if you don't mind. I could call mine a 6.5-280 AI. Stomp442 I may reach out to you in the future. I don't own a Tikka, but might have to look for one now. -
Basic rules is they get to call home on Christmas and Mothers Day, other than that it is all letters and email.Just the way it is set up....... That has to be tough, especially for parents. Can he ask for permission to call more frequently?

Nice job. I'm sure you put in a lot of work.

Come on guys. You know what it says in the Bible about not forgiving? It's against it, right?😎

IA Born is right. It doesn't get any better than a Model 41. I keep looking around for them with the hopes I find one some day, I would have no problem buying a used one. For semi autos, I have a Sig Trailside that has never given me any trouble and it has a real nice trigger. I don't think they make them any more but if you find one check it out. I also have an old Colt Woodsman. It's a fun gun, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone because I can give me problems from time to time. The fun part about it is that it has a scope on it. I like these types of threads. We don't always have to discuss the big bores and 1000 yard guns.

I really like Ruger. Their model 77 and revolvers are my favorite from them, their other firearms you can have, I'm not interested. The triggers can use a lot of work. I have the single nine 22 mag and a Super Redhawk 44 mag. Both have had trigger work done and they are to die for. I can't speak for the semi autos but have read good things about them. My opinion is to get the single six. Good luck, it should be fun either way.

I'm not a rider, too dangerous for me. I'll ride in the hills in the dirt if I have to. I remember reading about a study involving accidents between cyclists and vehicles years ago. The study showed that the ones involved in most accidents are the ones that wear all of the get up like helmets, spandex, gloves, shoes and shirts with logos. It's like the drivers noticed them and considered them pros and didn't give them room. At least not the room they would give a redneck or hillbilly seen riding a bike in the same situation, they were extra careful around those type of people because there was a sense they were accident prone. So if you're a rider, loose all of the ppe and you should be safer.

It was in unit 27. I forget where the thread you are talking about is, but I think it was a 'where am I' topic. I believe the old ranch where it happened is called XXX. I'm sure the ranch got its name before the Adult Film industry took it.
