Good point. My f150 fit into my garage and my 250 was about 4" too long.
-
I have a newer 250 and drove a 150 for 13 years. I've had 3 F150 work trucks in the past 6 years. Get the 150. My 250 is heavy, has a lot of wheel hop, and is a much, much rougher ride. It seems to have less headroom too.

I guess this is over since nobody has replied in a while.

I like what RedSparky had to say. I had a deer hunt this year and on one morning, I saw headlights behind me about a quarter mile away. It had to be a deer hunter, nothing else made sense at that hour. I knew the area and there were only maybe two places that deer can be found. I didn't want to screw up whoever it was behind me. I stopped, waited, and started talking to the driver as he stopped next to me. He had one passenger. As far as I was concerned, I would go to wherever they weren't going. I figured that would do us both a favor. I figured out seconds later that I knew him and the passenger from growing up because they were both dads of friends of mine. That was a nice surprise because I hadn't seen them in about 15 years. I spoke with one of them later by phone and got all caught up. He ended up taking a nice 4x4 and on the last day I got a 3x3. It could have been much different. He could have zoomed past me with a wave and I would have been left guessing his plans and could have spoiled his chances or he could have blown mine. It's nice to have the older, 50+ year olds because they usually stop and talk with people on the road.

Yes, do it. I bought the kit that has the 1" and 30mm set up. There are videos on YouTube that has a few different ways to do it. Watch a few of them and then do yours. I see it as another way to maximize shooting. Anything that can be done to improve, do it.

cool pic. I don't think I would have seen it. You must have amazing vision. That fox on the pole is going to have a hard time getting down. I can picture it climbing up but not down.

Looking for recommendations on a builder
Saguaro replied to yotebuster's topic in Long Range Shooting
I looked into a post 64 build a long time ago because I could get a lefty as a donor. I found few people that would build one. There was one company that would, I haven't looked into them for a while but it was called Echols. Beyond that, there has to be someone that could do what you are wanting. Look into the Prescott area, there seems to be old talent there, at least more than the modern gunsmiths I know about in the Phoenix area. Good luck, I like the way you're thinking. -
I have one in left hand. Probably not what you're looking for. http://www.coueswhitetail.com/forums/topic/75741-2-lh-rifles/?fromsearch=1

I'm thinking it's from a tool to clear weeds and had a long handle on it if those are nails and not rivets. Kind of like a Keizer blade. Some people call it a Sling Blade, I call it a Keizer Blade. How did you do on the archery deer hunt there? I was on the rifle hunt with another person and we had a hard time seeing any good bucks. Plenty of does, not a lot of bucks.
-
You're lucky. Replacement blade or not, that's what gets us in trouble even more if you're by yourself. I had a solo hunt this year and had to be extra careful not to hurt myself after I got my deer. Maybe it's my job as a Superintendent that forces safety that life has become a big safety concern for me. I know when I got mine down, my attitude was get it done as quick as I can and that's when I start being sloppy and can cut myself. I had to take pause a few times. Thanks for sharing, it's a lesson for all of us.

I don't know Koury from anywhere but I hear a lot of people that like him. He probably innocently used the pic to bolster his guide business because he does guide a lot in 3a/3c. -
I sent a text as well. I got seconds.....or thirds or whatever it's up to. I have a Vixxen in 6mm PPC and could use another one.

I agree. You're doing something right. Keep up the patience. You've done better than most I know in 10.

Sorry for the late reply, I'm in Mesa, AZ.

I'm not a parent, so my opinion may not be worth much. It seems to me from what I see, kids are going to have a hard time getting into hunting if they live in the City. I grew up in a small town where it was so easy to hunt and shoot that my dad and I would do it a few times a week. It seems like if you live in the city, you can only do those things maybe once or twice a month. Even at that, some of those trips will be half assed because you can only spend a few hours doing it because of the need to get back and take care of other things. That and kids being so plugged in constantly it's easier to enjoy other hobbies out of necessity. It's the way small town and city people evolve. Don't think I'm bashing city people because I'm now one.

That area around the Pink Cliffs and the wind turbines used to be a great area. Now it's a wasteland of roads and substations. Some areas that were hard to get to in the past now have well travelled roads.

This is an important topic. I try my best to not screw anybody's hunt up. I think it's a big deal during archery antelope season because they will just about run at sight of a vehicle 300 yards away. I actually screwed up someone's hunt about 11 years ago by driving trough a push down where there was a group of antelope. If I was thinking, I would have noticed his truck at the beginning of it and backed off. At the end of the day I met up with this truck at a gate. I started talking with him and figured out that he and his dad were on a stalk and were making some serious progress when I pushed them away. They were cool about it but I felt horrible and now try to be aware of these things.

I let them live too. There are enough haters out there that it sort of balances out. I'm dying to eat one and try it out. Up north, they're small and not worth the effort, but if I find a decent sized one in the low desert, I'll take it. One of my favorite movie scenes has a speech about a rattlesnake. It was from Natural Born Killers and an old Navajo tells a story of how a young woman gathering wood comes across a snake frozen in the snow. She takes the snake home and nurses it back to health. One day the snake bites her, as she lays there dying, she asked the snake "why have you done this" and the snake answers "look bitch, you knew I was a snake".

What if he has nothing to feel remorse about? You keep forgetting it's not proven yet.Believe me, I know what you mean. The trouble I have is with his past. If this topic was about a City Municipal worker with a few traffic violations in his past, my attitude would be different.
-
Can someone that knows him please comment, does he feel any remorse?
-
I feel bad for those people that defended him in the other thread. It's posted in another forum too. Bad deal for sure.
