I side with the police. I'll save my sympathy for innocent victims, these clearly were not. When will people learn to comply? It's not that hard. If you have a problem with an officer, fine, get a badge number and take care of it at a better time and place. I somehow never find myself in situations like this.

It would be interesting to count how many arrows were actually in it. The first time I saw the tree was in 1998. I had a seasonal job with the FS out of the Clifton RD. There were a few locals from Clifton/Morenci that were seasonal as well. One of them told me that they would shoot an arrow at the end of the season if they didn't get anything. Also they said the idea is to hit as high as you could on the tree.

selling guns and reloading stuff

as far as the younger generation its of no interest to them unless it is Tactical or black. That's true. They just don't know what's out there. I spend most of my time reading and learning the history of guns past and present. If I'm reading a book, it has something to do with guns. It all started when a girlfriend gave me a book about guns for a present once and now I can't get enough. A good gift for a gun guy is a book and they can see what their missing. To me, there's nothing wrong with used guns. Sometimes that's all you can get if you want a nice pistol like the Python or Sig Hammerli or a good lever action center fire rifle. I remember I went shooting with a young 20 something guy a few years ago and brought a Winchester model 52 rifle my dad had sporterized and let the lad shoot it. He had no idea there was a 22 out there like it. He loved it. I explained that he doesn't have to buy Ruger, Remington or the like. And there's others like this one and Remington 40x, Anschutz, and Cooper that make good 22s. And to keep an eye out for a good used one and he should have a real nice rifle to have forever. -
selling guns and reloading stuff

I think it's because tastes in guns have changed. 15 years ago you spent around 700-900 dollars for a quality bolt action rifle. Now it's about 300 dollars. Most don't make the quality versions anymore. The younger generation sees this and think it's silly to spend $500 for a used rifle. If you look a pistols, a quality revolver from the 60s or 70s is laughed at when they can buy a brand spanking new M&P striker fire pistol for $300-$350 on special. It breaks my heart to see this. The one country in the world that should be proud of its guns has made just about all of them discount, dime store versions of what they used to be. I stopped buying new from the manufacturer about 5 years ago. -
54' wide and 40' long, that's a big airplane, it will be interesting to see the crash site when it's found. I still can't believe it hasn't been.

I was thinking about this today. May is a long time to go undiscovered. There have probably been a few dozen trips trying to find it both by the owner and his pilot buddy community by air, trophy elk hunters scouring the area, and others that know of areas that can hide a plane. The fact it didn't start a fire or send up any smoke and hasn't been found yet, makes me think it's under water. But where? Not a lot of water out there but that's where I'd look.

The problem is social media all around. Every offense is a hanging offense now. That's why I have never had a facebook or twitter account. If I did I'm sure I will have offended tons of people by now just by posting photos, videos, questions or retweets. If it's political, forget about it. Every one out there is so trigger happy that they can post their disgust and slowly build up a few thousand likes and now there's a newsworthy headline. Take a look here in the church thread about how divisive our social media is. I want bad to reply to it but if I did, some would think I'm a horse's butt, I'm not saying which side, It's better I don't post and have everyone believe I don't care about it. I think society is slowly wising up about outrage. I think in a few years it will take a lot to shock us.

That's exactly what I was thinking about. I'm in the process of getting a barreled action built in 6mm ppc and since I have all of the practical sporters I want, this will be a showpiece that will see the range and maybe some prairie dog shooting. I won't be hunting or fighting brush, fences, and weather with it so it could be an heirloom that should stay nice forever.

I've thought about doing that. I would want to meet face to face with them before hand to personally select the blank and go over options which is why I kind of wanted someone in AZ. About 35 years ago my dad got a model 52 Winchester stock custom made by Hunters Haven in Flagstaff that turned out really good. It's one of the nicest I've seen and it doesn't even have checkering.

I don't know if it's still there, Circle Q Western Wear in Flagstaff, AZ.

So far the three that I can think of have been named. Hensley's had a lot more up than what's there now. In the late 90s early 2000s they had some real monsters. Two that I can think of have been taken back from the owners. Back then, some in the hunting community would display their trophies for a while there.

I was talking to someone at work about the drought and how I would hear frogs at night from my bedroom in the late 80s and how those days are gone. He brought up Horny Toads and how scarce they are and it made me think, I haven't seen one in maybe 25 years. Before that I would see at least one a week. Do any of you still see them?

It's from 4 hours ago. It's the one that says RL320>ErnestoC. You can't click on it but you can see the message sent.

I bought this in January with the intention to restore it. My plans changed. It has the 345 v8 and automatic transmission. I have the soft top to go with it. Asking $4500. Located in East Mesa.
-
Maybe I'm wrong. It looks like RL320 sent a message to ErnestoC and all of us can read it. I was going to send myself a message to try it out and the box says public instead of private message.

4bbl. It has a little rust.

I've been told that by a few people. I might do that later. The trouble is I'm very nervous about Craigslist for a number of reasons, but I might find the courage somehow. I'm not too desperate to sell, at least for another year or so.

Follow everything Lance said. I think the reloading manuals are the first thing to start with. You can read up on the fundamentals in those because they're about half load data and half educational.
-
My opinion is sell it. I have a few reasons. One is because I'm not a big shotgun guy. I have three and those seem to be enough for me. Another is because he would be getting a rifle that he will use and not something that will sit there. I understand the sentimental value but, maybe find another hand-me-down and put a lot of love in it. This is coming from someone that has 45+ guns and about 20 of them were passed on to me.

I'm right handed but I shoot left handed. My right eye has 20/200 vision so I really can't shoot right handed. For 20 years I shot pistols right handed but recently switched to left handed and my accuracy went way up. You think there's not enough rifles out there for leftys, try looking for pistols that are good for leftys.

Personal responsibility is long gone. Everyone knows that. There's no hope. every once in a while there will be a good judge that believes in responsibility but that's rare. All you can do is get out and enjoy it while you can and don't let it bother you.
