Are they easy to sight in? Does it come with a strip of paper that you put on the wheel with the yardages already on it or do you write the yardages on it for yourself?

HI everyone, I have a few questions for guys who have had rifles rebarreled before. 1st: I have a Ruger m77 Mark II that is 30-06. My question is what caliber's are offered for rebarreling this rifle? 2nd: About how much would it cost to rebarrel? 3rd: Am looking to build a decent long range gun without having to break the bank. I would like to hear what caliber you guys think would make a good long range rifle for elk/deer that my rifle could be rebarreled to? 4th: I would like to hear your guys thoughts about this? and if it would be worth rebarreling or just buying a new rifle and starting from there? 5th: Finally what gunsmiths do you guys recommend and think do good work for something like this? Thank you and looking forward to what you guys have to say.

Ill double check but i believe that is the scope i have on my rifle now. But its been a while since i have checked it out. It is a leupold
-
Another question is stocks. Is it better to have a heavier stock or a lighter one for long ranger shooting
-
What scopes are you guys using and recommend? NOT a Huskemaw or the Vortex HSLR. But to give you an educated answer, what is your budget? I could suggest numerous scopes in the $1K+ to $5K range. Well am saving the money now to start this build and one thing i plan on spending the most money on is the scope. But i talked to a guy on a different form and he suggest if my scope is still good i could have custom turrets made. My budget would be 1500-2000 for scope.

So I've been watching the show "The Hunt" on discovery channel and not only does it get me pumped for hunting season but also made me add a Kodiak bear hunt with my bow on my hunting bucket list. So I thought it would be cool to see how many guys have a bucket list for hunts. If so post your top 3. My top 3 are. They are not in order. 1) Spot and stalk mt. lion w/ bow 2) Strip Mule Deer Hunt 3) African Dangerous Big 5

I know i have already posted this on here in a other section but i figured i would post it here also. What exactly is the 338-06? Is it like a 338? Or is it less power?

Saw this guy today my way to walmart.

Thank you guys I appreciate all the info. I'll post some more once I figure out exactly what I decide to do and get your guys thoughts on the products am wanting to use. am thinking of the 6.5 creedmore. Read a few articles about the round and rifle. Seems a lot of guys like the set up for long range deer hunting. Thank you guys again

Is there a website that would offer barrels, muzzle brake, etc. that you guys recommend?
-
What scopes are you guys using and recommend?
-
Thank you all for the info. I have been doing some research and a lot of guys seem to like the 6.5. I will be hand loading my rounds. Which brings up another question. Is it easy to come by the 6.5 brass? I have thought about selling the gun but it means to much to me. Also am thinking of either using a huskemaw or a Vortex Viper HS LR.

Have any of you guys heard of Raby's Hunting in Texas? They seem to offer a great package for hog hunting. My wife just got her first bow and am thinking of taking her here to kill some hogs but was wondering if any of you have hunted here or has heard good things about them? Let me know what you guys have experiences or think about it thank you. Website is www.rabyshunting.com

Unit 21 one has a group. Seen there tracks and the damage they have done. Also have heard of some people taking a few out of there. Little Creek Calls if you call the BLM office and ask for information on the feral hogs they will send you packet that comes with a map that tells you there migration pattern, information on them and the damage they do up there and a form to fill out on how many you took and then you send it to the BLM so they can keep a eye on how many are taken and how many would be left. I have been planning a trip up there for awhile just dont know the unit that well.

I was wondering if anyone has done the 6B whitetail hunt and if they have any success. If you have hunted 6B then i have hunted out by Bill Grey Rd. I only live about 5 minutes from there. Am planning on hunting couse deer for the first time this year and was just curious on this unit cause its so close to me. I have scouted the area and seen mule deer including one really nice buck and see antelope almost every other time i have gone out. I just want to see what other people think of this unit. Thanks for reading.
