Deal. What was the range on that pic? Looks like he's about 6 ft away. Called in? Closer to 3ft but he was wearing a bracelet on a back foot from a blind set. -

That is the whole enchilada right there. I literally watched a St. Louis reporter blaming the police for the animals destroying the black owned part of town. She said the cops weren't there and that let them destroy the area. Hello.... what about the animals committing the crimes? It must be someone elses fault, definitley not theirs.

I'll bet you know exactly where everything is!

Winds howling,but 3 are not...
WampusCat replied to nlacost's topic in Predator Hunting and Trapping
The first two are good looking desert dogs. Do you wear ear protection when hunting with that gun? -
I enjoy seeing critters posted here. Dont stop because of one guy's antics. Same guy, same agenda, lots of forums, dropping names of who he has trapped/ hunted/ or apparently now had dinner with. Go to one of the fur harvesting associated group/club/meeting/sales in AZ and you can even hear him in person. Couple years ago it got really good on the Trapperman forums with him and his hero Bob Small professing how Bobs cage traps are superior to the others. It is unfortunate the way he comes across usually because I think he has solid info and experience to add. Many different ways to skin a cat (or trap one). Same thing applys to everything else we do.

Arizona and I are hard as heck on pants and I cannot fathom the prices the must have brands charge for pants that I know will get shredded. I can stomach some quality warming layers and a good jacket that cuts the wind when I can catch a sale. Kuiu seems like they could do what I want in those respects. I was interested in the location because they always talk up the "the finest (xxx material), from (xxx place)". Just wondered where they assembled all those exotic parts or who assembled them. Ill try to catch their next sale for some merino. I agree on the intended price point talk as well RCD.
-
Did not know that. I was really interested in some of their Merino base layer stuff as I have heard good things. Just checked back on their site and the 210 zip T that I wanted before is back in stock now??? Still no luck on the bottoms.

Do you know where?

I read their email and it lured me in there. I put 15 different things in my cart and only 1 was in stock. I didn't buy anything. Guess it's easy to offer such great deals when you don't have any stock to sell. Looks like they are always struggling with inventory issues or conning sportsmen into paying them to do their beta testing. " we just tried some new stuff this year. How bout you guys pay full price and show us all the defects so we can try again next year." What gen packs are they on now? I guess I'll give em a couple years to get their stuff straight. I'll hand it to them though. Seems guys line up to dress in full kuiu camo from head to gloves to neck gaiter to pack. Their marketing is on point. I'd like to know where all these high speed fabrics they talk up are sewn. Havent seen them mention that part.

Anything in 3-9x40 will work fine for your purposes. One thing to note when mounting scopes on ARs is it's sometimes hard to get the correct eye relief without using a specifically designed mount that lets the front "ring" of the scope mount hang out over/in front of the receiver. Check out something like a Burris P.E.P.R. mount. It provides a solid base with the proper eye relief.

Great thread, dont know how I missed it. I look forward to experiencing all this with my son in a few years. Great job dad. Good luck to you and your shooter. I'll be rooting for her.

Great post. Those pictures tell a great story of what you went through. I always like to see the DIY guys get it done. Similar to you I am planning a few years out, but still in the beginning stages. How many points did you have built up to draw?
-
Good luck to you guys. Is your dad a contractor?

Those first two are the best thing to happen to the 6.5 lately. I'd guess in ten years from now the 26 Nosler will be an elusive creature that pops up now and again in the form of a dusty box of shells on a pawn shop shelf. Too much marketing and not enough utility.

For my style of glassing (sitting / leaning against something in the shade) I prefer the angled. I can get very comfortable in the head slightly down relaxed position. The one advantage IMO of a straight is the speed at which you can setup and find your target. It seems easier to point and find something way out there. The angled takes a second longer but more comfortable when glassing. Your mileage may vary.

Bullet Stuck in Lands
WampusCat replied to MULEPACKHUNTER's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Had the same problem with some Berger VLDs intentionally loaded into the lands because thats where there prefered to be. Opened the bolt and got an action full of powder. Eventually got it out with my best attempt at hydraulic pressure so I didnt need such a long stick. Filled the barrel with drinking water and made a small patch to seal the bore against a small stick as my plunger. Worked but cost me the better part of an evening glass. Bummer that it ruined your hunt. At least you took in the sights along the trail! -
Awesome pictures and sorry to hear about the scumbags messing with your truck. I had some hippies from NM loosen my lugnuts once. Good thing we dont catch people like them in the act.
