This is my great grandfather loading a deer, on what I think is a early 50's buick. Not 100% sure where this picture was taken, but they lived in 6a for as long as I can remember.

Ahh, I have the EL 10x50.

Can this be installed, by one's self? Does that bolt thread into my Swaro's I don't see a female thread, on my 10x50HD's? I was under the impression that outdoorsman did something with a machine.. like press the nut into the hinge..? If you can self install these, I'm very interested.

I always set up an opaque hammock at camp, and then tuck a sleeping bag in there, with enough volume to look like someone could be napping there.. I don't know if it's worked, for sure, but never had a camp messed with. bummer about the pistol. File a police report, it may turn up.

Who got drawn? Who has done this hunt before? I've never been drawn, submitted every year for the last 4-5 years, a buddy got drawn 2 years ago and stumbled into a spike on the last hour of his hunt and let the air out of him... Don't know if it was dumb luck or if that's what this hunt is like.. It's the only elk he saw the entire time he was up there. What's this freezer filler hunt like? Anyone love it? Anyone hate it? Also, it seems a little suspicious that there are so many couples successfully drawn in this 'lottery'. I mean, it seems like there is a lot of twosomes with the same last name drawn, every year (at least for the last 4-5 years that I've been watching it).. Maybe it's just that there are a lot of twosomes submitting, not sure.. Seems odd since there is not group application process for that hunt. Any thoughts?

I was in 23, scouting for my late Oct General Mulie Hunt . Well, we didn't see a whole lot of Bucks, we bumped a small bachelor heard, never got great eyes on them.. we only saw 7ish does over 3 days of hiking.. But there was so much elk activity all over the place it was hard to glass a ridge and not see several cows picking their way down the hill.. At one point we heard four bulls on ridges all around us sounding off at each other, got eyes on two of them, and from 1000 yards they both looked pretty good. PM me, I'll send you a few spots where we couldn't not see Elk everyday.

I just put the Arizona Topo from GPS File Depot on my 650, and it's really good TOPO map especially considering the price, but I was hoping to find one with the FS roads all labeled.. Any one know if there's an option to get a map with the AZ FS roads labeled? Without shelling out another 100 bucks?

I got lost chasing a bugle when I was about 18 years old. I was hiking/camping alone and couldn't find camp in the dark for about 2 hours, I finally spotted a familiar lightning strike tree's silhouette against the night sky and realized where I was (about 2 miles from camp). To make it worse, like an invincible 18 year old (in my mind) ,didn't even tell anyone I was going to be camping or where I was going to. Just got caught up in following that buck, and stopped paying attention to the sun and which way I was going, and it got dark on me fast, like it normally does... It scarred and scared me for life.. So, now I get paranoid when my GPS batteries dip below 50%, anytime past noon. I can't imagine the memories for those of you who were lost at such young age. At least I knew enough to start thinking about staying warm, for the night, before I finally figured out where I was... Poor Kid, and Poor Parents. Really heartbreaking to imagine your kid shivering alone in the woods..

Honestly.. It's crazy. The lion was 13 when he was shot.. Average lion life span is 10-14. I just don't understand the rage. He could easily already be dead years ago, of natural causes.. His cape was undoubtedly going to be beautifully preserved and displayed and enjoyed by that hunter and his family for decades, instead of this lion dying of natural causes in 3-12 months somewhere in the sahara and getting eaten by vultures, and gone forever. I get it he was a 'pet' whatever that even means, but lets have a little perspective...

The previous year's tags, apps, and bonus points are visible again, but no 2015 Deer results yet, at least not on my account yet...
