That's a big cat! Congrats on a good catch. I'm sure he was pretty heavy. I have been predator hunting and trapping for a lot of years and have personally seen a 34lb cat in TX and have caught cats over 20lbs in both TX and AZ. Keep on trapping hard this winter. Looks like your off to a good start.

Location? Price?

Well you posted a picture of a dispatched kitten and didn't explain anything. What are we supposed to assume. I'm not judging you buddy. I was simply trying to inform you incase you were unaware. Hope you have many more dropped doors this season

Congrats on the catches! Were they toms? I can't help but think that the top cat is a pretty young cat. As trappers it is up to us to ensure there will be cats to trap each year in our area. As a new trapper you must fight the urge to kill every cat that is in your cage. Generally we let kittens and most females go. I will keep a few females each year as long as they are older and not milk stained.

Called Vortex to order a new pair or binos the other day. Spoke with a very helpful guy named Travis. He informed me that I was eligible for a law enforcement discount and said we would have my binos in the mail first thing in the morning. We talked hunting for a little bit and he gave me his opinion on a few things and I left the conversation feeling glad that I made the call. Here is the letter that he personally wrote and sent to me.

For accuracy reasons I have never really liked the Vmax. Just can't get them to pattern like Bergers or Sierras. I load 35g berger varmints in front of 28g of Varget. Great load for predators

"Winchester white box 45 acp. and not a hollow point of lead point" That's a pistol. Like apples and oranges there. If your trying to save hides, there are much better calibers. If you reload you can cook up some good pelt savers no problem. A thin skinned fox is hard not to blow to pieces. I shoot BB at em and the 204 does the job as well but just plan on throwing a few stitches in em with whatever you shoot em with. No head shots!

Fox will be ready soon. They always prime first. I start with trapping fox in the mountains in November then hit the cats starting in December. If I catch a cat in my fox sets I look him over and make my decision then. One of the nicest cats I caught last season was in the last week of November.

I would if it was my size. Good gear

Love them I spent 5 days behind them on my coues hunts this week. I can see a slight blur around the very far edge but it is not enough to really matter. They are super light and super clear. I was spotting bedded down deer in shade and even quail a few hundred yards away. They will do everything I need them to and more.

Smartwool all the way. Used them for the first time on my CO elk hunt and I was very impressed

Thanks guys Matt- they will work really well for me until I work up enough courage to drop big $ on swaro's. wildwoody- They didn't come with a big buck but they will make it easier for me to find one

Looking for a used pair of either viper or older razors. Went to CO on an elk hunt and realized I need some better glass. Thanks
