Today's Tucson Star had an editorial by the paper in which they said they couldn't understand why people were so upset about Obama and were out buying every gun they could find. A paragraph or so later, they were explaining that Obama and Biden only wanted to expand background checks, police access to them, require child safety locks, and bring back/expand the assault weapons ban which only included those weapons which have tubular or removable magazines, hold more than a couple of rounds, etc, etc. Duho!!! Amazingly, they answered their own question but were unable to connect the dots. Left me shaking my head.

Keep at it. When you find a bedded deer, it really gives you that sense of accomplishment. -
Obama OH NO!!!!!!!
ghost hunter replied to desertdog's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Well, the gov has packed her bags. She is supposed to be on his "transitional team" and one rumor has it she will be the new director of homeland security. If true, only immediate plus I see in that is she is gone and we get a republican replacement (Jan Brewer the Sect. of State) -
Campaign Finance Reform???
ghost hunter replied to GodIsGood's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
I'll agree with Ruff, but add the Hollywood liberals, especially Oprah. On the Today show, Matt Lauer asked one of his political analyst whether Obama had gone too far with his spending. The guy said that he had certainly hit the boundary of ridiculous. Is it little wonder why Obama turned down campaign finance. Cuz he knew he would be able (promised) loads from a few special interests/people. IMHO, there should be a cap on how much a person can raise, that way it is an election on merit, not how much you can advertise. -
DONT GUESS WHEN VOTING IN ARIZONA
ghost hunter replied to GodIsGood's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Good info there. Looking at the Judges and their ratings, guess Gov. Janet can't pick a good judge. -
I bring the election up with everyone I talk to. Not one has any thing to say about Obama except he scares the &^%$ out of them. I'd like to think that this is a glimps of what the average voter is thinking, but I'm afraid of those people from urban America. I heard a comment yesterday from some pundit who said that some people are going to vote for Obama because it is "an historical event" and they want to be able to say they were a part of it. Can't believe that someone would waste their one vote "just to be a part" of something. As I watch the news, the poll results, etc, P.T. Barnum's saying about one born every day keeps coming to mind....

Suspend Campaign for Econ Crisis???
ghost hunter replied to Ben-Dover's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Your analogy is appropriate. Getting kicked in the head will just give you a "knowledge bump". While it goes away quickly, it helps remind you not to do that again. It also doesn't leave any lasting, hard to overcome harm. While you think this election is a sham, think ahead and vote for the one who will do the least amount of damage before 2012. -
Suspend Campaign for Econ Crisis???
ghost hunter replied to Ben-Dover's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Sad to say it but voting for the lesser of two evils happens regularly, usually on a more local level. I'd suggest that those who aren't happy now, use that momentum and plan for 2012. That gives you 4, well 3 years to develope a better candidate and platform. -
Suspend Campaign for Econ Crisis???
ghost hunter replied to Ben-Dover's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
This economic crisis has brought it all out, grandstanding, stalling, stunts, you name it. Who has been doing them, just about everyone involved. Whether it was geniune or not, suspending your campaign, canceling the debate and returning to Washington to deal with this unprecedented economic crisis is EXACTLY what our elected officials should do. I think the fact Obama didn't think of it says alot about his character. With him its not what is good for the country, its what is good for me. I wasn't ever going to vote for him but stunts like that certainly would have sealed the deal. I can only hope that others see it for what it was. I'm definitely not impressed with all the "the Dems said this...", "the Reps did that..." "this one is grandstanding..." "that one is...(you name it)". Someone needs to just lock them in their chambers and not let them out until they decide to do what is good for this country, not their party, or their re-election campaigns. Sorry, off the rant. -
CONCERNS WITH COUESWHITETAIL.COM
ghost hunter replied to tjhunt2's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
When I saw this thread, I thought "What did I miss?" Tell me if you want, (pm so you don't get it stirred up again) but I agree that this site has changed a bit over the years BUT it is still way better than most. I used to go to MM.com but havent been there in years. I agree with Scottyboy. Read what you want, skip the rest. No law says you gotta read all the new posts. I am here every day and by the number of posts I've made, you can see I just look for good stuff, read it and move on. Admittedly, I have banged out a few responses but have calmed down before I hit the "Add Reply" button. FWIW -
What a Joke.......
ghost hunter replied to Coues 'n' Sheep's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
The print media is no different. My son had to do a report on the DNC so I went and bought three different newspapers: New York Time, Ariz. Republic and the Ariz. Daily Star. It was very obvious which way they went. New York Times: front page and went on and on about how great the Kennedy's are, and by extension, Obamma. Republic: front page story but is was toned down. Star: story on the second page and it was a 'ho hum' article. Thought that was interesting. -
With all the polite cooperation expressed in the last few posts, makes you wonder why we are having such a discussion. These people 'must be gellin'. I've helped people hunt, gone to 'plan B' (several times of late) and generally tried to get along but when its my turn I'll let you know. Of course it is the one butt-head that ruins the whole thing.

lonely pop-trailers on National Forest land

Its like anything else. Its "ok" until people get to abusing it then everyone will suffer. -
Had something similar happen this spring turkey season. Really chapped me because some guy who I watched go the other way shortly before came by after I had already got set up and expected me to leave the area. NOT. Guess I'd a whipped out my pen and used the posted note as a sign up sheet for people to reserve their time in the blind.

Doubt you would find one open 24/7 on Christmas. The next day you could get a Walmart or Sportsman's Warehouse. -
Sportsmans Warehouse in Goodyear to Close
ghost hunter replied to Red Rabbit's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
I've been to Cabela's and now Bass Pro Shop. Three trips to Cabela's and I haven't bought anything except lunch, spent several hundred dollars at my one trip to Bass Pro, and everything else I've bought the last couple of years has come from Sportsmans Warehouse. Can't imagine why people still go to Cabela's. -

Critters dont bother me much so I'd have to pick snakes and getting hurt. If the "other people" includes some guy with a surveyors scope, a roll of orange tape and a newly printed subdivision plat map, I'd vote for that one for sure, two or three times if you'd let me because that would scare the %&*$ right out of me. -

I'm glad you all are going. After reading the latest flyer on this project, it seems like it will definitely be an uphill affair. Can't do... Can't go... Must do... No... Must not... No... Just the impression I got after reading it. -
It's about time!
ghost hunter replied to az4life's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Jet is right. This is America da*& it! If we WANTED to shut off the border, we could do it. But the politicians don't want to because they are afraid of the voters. Most people have forgotten the 8-10-12 million illegals who were given 'amnesty' back in the mid 80's. Of course they got the right vote and now their kids (mid-late 20's) can also vote. You can bet they are VERY sympathetic to the issue going on now and want the same for all the illegals here now. Everyone keeps asking, "Why don't they see there is a problem? Why can't they fix it?" Answer is, "They can see the problem, they have just chosen not to fix it!" Only thing you are getting now is just 'lip service' to keep people quiet while they ACT like they are doing something about it. What worries me is the politicians trying to apply the old rule of, "don't worry, they (the people) only have the attention span of a gnat." Off the rant... -
Last time I heard, there were 55,000 laws on the books that prohibited some sort of action with a firearm. We don't need more laws on the books, just some of these enforced. Aside from that, laws will only keep 'honest people honest'. If he wanted a gun, he would have got one by either borrowing it or stealing it.

Greenies...maybe Anti's...could be Hunters who are tired of seeing quad tracks where the don't belong (off the road and all over the country side)...makes you wonder I'm assuming you were on a road going to the top of the hill.. How many days in the field?
ghost hunter replied to KidBowHunter's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
There is a BIG difference between "actually" in the field, and "want/need to be" in the field. Stupid obligations of life...
