The last thing I would add is specific to your last comment. Cameras, I have learned in the last 4 weeks, improves a hunters education dramatically about the environment. There is so many things to learn from looking at the pictures you have captured. If we are all being true to improving the animal population, taking mature animals, etc. than what better way than to let a 280" bull walk because you are "educated" to the fact that there are more mature animals to harvest? Likewise, if you learn an area is under populated, make a decision not to hunt there and move on....your analogy suggests cameras are responsible for harvesting big animals as if it a bad thing? How about the twenty or so 2 and 3 year old animals that get to live another year because of the education a camera provided? Lastly, a camera is not a substitution for scouting, etc. I still think this is essential as well. wow you really took that personal. I received a lot of likes for that post so I'm not alone in my thoughts. I'm sure I'm from another generation of hunters and we did it all on our own

There is a lot of ignorance around setting up cameras on this website. I set up my very first camera EVER several months ago and I have been working harder at "hunting" than ever before. People seem to think that because you have a camera up, the animal will be chained to the tree in front of your camera come hunting season....ignorant....what happened to wanting to gauge the population...be it predator, deer, or otherwise? What happen to hiking 3 miles in and 3 miles out to get away from people and feel like you have small piece of this earth to yourself? How about the gents in the midwest who labor for months and months and months for 5 seconds of opportunity? Because a hunter uses a trail cam they are less of a hunter? Some of what I would consider the more accomplished hunters on this website (whether its based on success, antler size, etc) use cameras as a catalyst to hunt harder than anyone else I know. Miles of hiking, hours of glassing, etc. based on areas determined good by use of a trail cam. Bating.....another issue entirely. But to to call a hunter lazy cause they use a camera...IGNORANT. every trail camera has a date and time for one reason only and you will never convince me that they are not used to pattern the animal. Animals are creature of habit. I didn't call anyone specific lazy sorry you thought that applied to you. I didn't say mklong40 was a lazy hunter all i said was it is the reason more and more record book deer and elk are killed every year. But ignorant was directed specifically at me.

Anyone recognize this tree stand and Camera?

Why not hunt there??? Explain please, just curious He can totally legally hunt there. But its kind of nice if you run into a mans favorite spot to leave it to him and get your own. There's plenty of land to hunt in az. I would leave it be and hope a man that finds mine would also let it be and think "wow, that guy has a good spot. maybe if he moves outta here some day I might use it". No worries, its just not how the world works anymore, but part of hunting is the adventure of finding new things and making stuff happen on your own. Not squatting a spot that is obviously being used. if you left every tank that had a camera on it you wouldn't be hunting much. And I will bet that stand and camera is at a water hole even though the picture doesn't show it. And I bet the guy who put it there wasn't the first guy to hunt there so maybe he should of left his crap in the truck since someone hunted there before him. (Get real) -
How about you just hunt the animal instead of trying to bait it and catch it on video. I would like to put a 12 guage slug right into every trail camera i see. Hunters are getting lazy and i guarantee there wouldn't be as many 110 inch deer and 380 inch elk killed if they had to get off their butts and actually hunt

Everyone has a different opinion but according to G&F last time i asked if its left there its considered abandoned and anyone can use it. If not all these POS outfitters that put out 100 trail cams and think they own the mountain would claim every tank for themselves. My personal opinion is they should outlaw the dang cameras and make hunters go back to hunting for their game. I would guarantee not as many 110 inch whitetails and 380 inch Elk would be taken every year if a guy had to get out and pattern those animals and actually wear out a few pair of boots scouting. As far as the stand they should take it with them when they leave. If you were camping you wouldn't leave your tent and lawn chairs until next time you decided to camp. -
i agree with the old fashion way. Once your check is cashed nothing can happen to screw it up. I always send in checks

That has happened to me. Not right before the draw but non the less if i were you I would be on their doorstep Monday morning to fix it. I wouldn't trust a phone call. Not sure what your odds are of the draw but you don't want to lose your loyalty point and if your card is rejected you will. You could probably fix that and get it reinstated after proving what happened but if at all possible i would see them face to face. Good luck buddy. both with that and the draw. I doubt if they will draw anything over the weekend so you still have time if you get there ASAP

i had a pair of those with the same blemish on the lense and you can not see it when glassing. It is cosmetic only. That is a great price. I sold mine on here a few months ago and got $950 for them. Good luck with the sale

It's not the dogs fault or the kids fault. It's the fault of any and all adults that were there that day and put the child in that situation. I would have shot the dog just purely out of instinct to save the child but its the parents responsibility to not put their child in any situation to risk injury to them. I have two 110 pound dobermans that are good gentle dogs but i treat them just like my guns. When a child comes into my home i separate them from the dogs so that there is no risk of a child being hurt. Thank god the kid is still alive and i will bet his parents will never leave him unsupervised again.some people learn the hard way.

My neighbor is trying to sell her Elk,mule deer and bobcat mounts and i told her i would try to help. She has 2 elk that are in the 370/380 class. 1 is a pedestal mount and the other a shoulder mount. She also has 2 smaller elk mounts. 1 medium size bobcat 1 mule deer 160/170 class. I have no idea what to tell her they are worth and looking for some guidance. I have never sold any of mine so i don't have a clue on the price. She has had a couple of offers of around $1500 for all 6 mounts and i was wondering if that is reasonable or not. If anyone out there has any advice and could share that advice i would appreciate it. The 2 big Elk are Arizona. 2 smaller Elk are Montana. 1 bobcat is Arizona. 1 Muley is Montana. They are all quality work Thanks for the help

It's easy for someone to say what they might do but no one really knows until put in that situation. Only he knows if he felt threatened enough to justify it. And he's the one who will have to prove it if caught. No different than shooting a human. You better be able to justify it after it happens. But he definitely needs to report his actions to the authorities. I've never been on a snowmobile so not sure if they have reverse but if they do i would of been out of there if a glock was my only defense against a wild animal. If he had missed or not hit vitals it could of been him on the ground. Good shooting though
