Anybody ever heard of someone putting a ladder tree stand up against a saguaro cactus and living to tell about it???? I'd be led to believe that this would not only be extremely unsafe, or deadly, but also may be against some law or regulation. Listened to a guy at work tell about how he does it often. Not too convinced he wasn't flinging some poo out to the guys he was talking to. Sounds sketchy so I thought I'd ask about it.

If this is your 1st smoker I'd recommend an 18" or 22.5" Weber Smokey Mountain. I don't know if Lowe's sells the 22.5". I have had both the 18 and 22.5 and kept the 18. Portable and not hard to learn. I take mine on camping trips all the time. Tons of info out there on forums related to WSM's and techniques. Used to competition cook and a WSM was the cooker that most competitors used. That was when competitions didn't allow anything run with electricity. As for the pellet pooper! I opted for the Camp Chef Woodwind and love it. Easy hopper drain and ash drain for simple cleaning or changing pellet flavors. Treager did not offer that on their pellet cookers. A pellet cooker puts a great flavor into the food for sure. A charcoal/wood smoker has a unique flavor that a pellet cannot do. Pellet is versatile but not as easy to "grill" as a charcoal or gas "grill".

Was up in 4B last weekend. As I was driving out Saturday night I past a camp very near the road that had 2 fires going and about 6 people in camp. My curiosity peaked so I drove a loop road and made a 2nd pass. Their multiple lanterns gave off enough light to see that the fires were propane fueled fire pits. Wood fires, charcoal use, smoking are banned Question is - Are propane fire pits not banned? Not sure if I see a need for those to be banned but I am curious still.

Taking the Mrs. on her 1st camping trip to Rosey. Any pointers on shore fishing? Also, did the slot limit cease for bass on Rosey? Can't find anything in the regs. Thanks for any advice you're willing to provide.
