  1. I am looking to sale a Browning BPS Field 26" Walnut 12 gauge. I bought the shotgun last year and I have put about 6 shots through it, but I am looking to get a turkey orientated shotgun. Like new condition. Paid $560 plus tax. Asking only $365-->$300 with soft case and 3 choke tubes plus Winchester Long Beard XPR choke. Photobucket trying to rob me blind, so I can't post pics here, but if requested, I can email pics

Does everyone have their popcorn ready??

Growing up on a ranch in western Montana, at least a couple years ago , if somebody shot a doe out of season, we'd look the other way. Rangers and wildlife managers all looked the other way. If ya shot something with some nice headone and your in deep kimchi. Wouldn't be that way today, though. Can't be. I do know I have seen, otherwise good folk, do some seriously dumb things just for an opportunity to beat their chest and feed their ego.

What? Is everybody sleeping? Let me get this straight. Is there a confessed camera thief gonna get himself a kinky cell mate? What a shame.
  9. OK, OK, I should know to whom I speak. I'm already over it, but I want to point out how so many now consider hunting - strapping a 15 pound rifle with 24 power scope on to their ATV and drive to the top of a mountain to use their $2,500 spotting scope to spot animals a mile away. They shoot several hundred to a thousand yards. OK. That is fine I suppose, but I remember when none of that existed and I am not that old. Just saying. In the end I am not down with the hunters against hunters coalition.
  10. I really love hearing how archery hunters are so willing to throw all other hunters under the bus. Yea, great, archery hunters have pics right up to their hunt, to heck with everybody else. Right? I know somebody else here says argument is lost when somebody compares camera ethics with other issues in hunting. I see no honest conflict with cameras, just peoples own opinions/jealousy. I would love to see a ban on ATV's for hunting. ATV's are responsible for more area closures than anything else. Ban them! I can guarantee the quality of my hunt would dramatically improve if ATVs were banned for unethical violation of fair chase. The point is, nobody has made an honest case for how trail cameras (other than "live" cams) offer any conflict with principles of fair chase or any other conflicts created by cameras. Yea, outfitters may be taking it too far, but deal with that issue. I can't wait to hear the commision come up with some ideas that improve hunting, instead of spending all their time figuring how to get more money out of us and their personal peaves.
  11. I do not think anybody is arguing in favor of keeping live/ real time cellular/remote style cams. They do cross the line to unfair violation to fair chase concepts in most minds. I haven't heard anybody argue otherwise, but it seems that people who do not like trail cams are using "live" cams to confuse the issue with all other cameras.
  12. One hundred or maybe 200 yards max is more reasonable than 440 yards in my opinion. Plus, as I read the rules and I am no lawyer, the rules seem to imply that if some missionaries stuck a spoon in the ground 500 years ago, it still counts as a developed water source. My point is, there are developed tanks that have not held water in the time that I have lived in Arizona. It seems to be unfair to treat some always dry - one time tank as an active water source. I am opposed to a ban in general, but i might be more understanding if distance from water source is reduced to 100 or 200 yards and if the Azgfd produced a catalogue of developed water sources to which the ban is applied. One annual permit per camera with defined hunting districts and possible limitations on number permits sold in certain districts is an idea I could get behind and I run as many as a dozen cams sometimes. A good way to raise funds that is reciprocal. I like the idea, for this would actually create a legal standing for the existence/presence of your cam as opposed to the quasi legal status that now exists.
  13. So, there are no rule/no conclusions arrived at tonight? oops, posted and then saw addition to above post. Good news so far as I am concerned.

Put walls around all the big towns and suburbs. All we need out here are bars and gas stations.
  19. no peyote in them parts. Maybe some psilocybe mushrooms coming over from the coastal range, but no peyote
  20. I once stepped out of a hot spring in the back mountains of Northern Idaho. It was a full moon with not a cloud in the starlight bright night. Despite that there were no clouds in the sky, the moon was kinda flashing. At that moment I recognized that the flashing effect to the light of the moon was created by the huge antlers of a big muley in velvet. The deer was literally standing less than three feet from me. I could have reached out and petted the dang thing. Then I looked around and realized the hot springs we were in was surrounded by at least 18 deer. I could walk around among them and they paid no attention to me. Maybe the hot spring erased my human scent or something, but I guarantee that never would happen in the daylight.

one sweet and pretty little 7mm-08

I have a Marlin XS7 in 7mm-08 set in a Boyd's Classic coyote laminate stock with checkering accented by oak leaves. Makes for a pretty rifle. There is a soft 1" recoil pad and a 13 3/8" LOP. Stock is glass bedded with free floated 22" barrel and metal trigger guard. Rifle comes with Leupold VX-2 4x12x40 with LR duplex Warne rings. There is a Quake Mossy oak sling to top it off. The rifle is a pleasant shooting rifle that I built-up for one of my daughters, but that's not likely ever going to happen, so I am selling the rifle to help pay for a silencer. I also have over 280 rounds of factory ammo. 100 Nosler Custom 140gr ballistic tip. 100 Winchester 140gr powerpoint, 40 Federal Premium Nosler 140gr Partition. 40 Winchester extreme points. There are some others, probably less than 15. Finally, there is a set of RCBS dies, Lee factory crimp die, and a Lee quick trim die, a shell holder all in a large 4 die box. There is 200 Nosler 150gr LR accubond bullets and 260+ Speer 130gr spbt and brass(haven't counted, but probably 60 or so pieces) rifle w/scope $550 rifle w/ 280+ ammo $650 rifle, ammo & dies, bullets and brass $700 I'll take pics with phone and I will be able to email pics on demand

    Late Hunt

I chilled out and went back up this morning. I went into a higher canyon that was full of birds 2 weeks ago. I did two sets and no responses. I got to looking around and no sign of turkeys anywhere. The tank in the area is dry with a couple 6" dead salamanders baking in the sun. Tough times out there.
