If you know a way around the General Mining Act of 1872 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Mining_Act_of_1872) I'd love to hear it! Grijalva and Giffords are trying to stop it: http://www.azstarnet.com/allheadlines/170868.php but have been stonewalled by the Senate. http://www.fs.fed.us/r3/coronado/rosemont/ http://www.hiltonroad.com/

he's out there, if you can get a friend put him up on a ridge with big binos and a tripod, you walk the area below him with a tracking dog, either the buck is dead in the grass (my thinking) or he's under a bush and won't get up unless you really really push him. Unfortunately you can't watch the grass for blood or tracks AND keep your eyes on the ridgeline to see if he jumps up. I wounded my first muley, shot him back and high; found him the next morning only to have him spooked up and run off by another bow hunter... Never saw him again, and I looked and looked! (The silver lining is that the next year I shot a muley who had a broadhead scar inside his ribs in the same spot I shot mine -- same buck? maybe, but it just shows you that they are tough as s#!%) If you never find your buck again, it may be because he's still walking! I think he's dead already; take your dog, or something that can track scent. also, take a gun to shoot the coyotes that are eating him right now!

lonely pop-trailers on National Forest land
SilentButDeadly posted a topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
What is the deal with pop-trailers chained to trees along dispersed camping sites on NF roads? How long can they be left? Does the Forest Service care during hunting season? -
maybe if the forum pitched in a couple of bucks we could buy Jim a satellite phone with picture mail, that way we wouldn't be mercilessly teased by the 48-72 hour wait period it takes him to pack up his @#%$ and get home....

+1 Costco has a 500GB external for 99.99 on their website right now -- that's 500 times bigger than my SD cards. They take forever to fill up, especially with a 3-6 mega pixel camera. -
I just looked at an Oregon 400 today at SW, it was totally awesome. much more friendly than the Colorado, but VERY spendy, also consider that it doesn't have radio ability. And AZRYAN is right about the micro SD, you'd need to buy SD inserts to put the Micro cards into... Why can't I get a phone/radio/GPS/dog tracker combo??? I'd be willing to schill out some dough for something like that. T It has everything EXCEPT a full size SD slot... It has a micro SD card slot...

just imagine, that is what your bull elk is going to look like one day, hanging side-by-side -
man, there are going to be some 'lightbulb' deer antlers posted pretty soon, less than three weeks till the opener... Those Coue's need more time!

Well, at least they are getting to enjoy the great outdoors, as all hunters do, and experience the thrill of the chase, and after all of their hard work the adulation of the kill (so-to-speak)... Too bad when they go home all they have to eat are lentils and all they have to watch are their tie-dye flags hanging on the wall. Personally, I'll take a steak and my 60 inch HDTV. Also, I wonder how many deer they've hit in their Subaru's on the way home from their 'Sab' adventures?

go to this website: http://sco.az.gov/website/parcels/viewer.htm look up the button on the right side that says Land Ownership, figure out where you were.

This is a recently produced video by folks in Tucson who are actively trying to eliminate the rising threat of Buffel Grass. There have been some posts on this forum before concerning this topic. It is something that hunters should be aware of, it is obvious that the local (and national) politicians, fire departments, and the Real Estate industry are paying attention. The video is about 10 minutes long,

I don't really 'collect' knives, they just seem to find me, Here is a 'Sami' aka, Lapp-lander knife from Sweden, my old man got it for me when I was a teen. Its made of curly maple and reindeer antler, hand forged steel, woven birch sheath. This one I found in the woods of New Mexico -- I assume the psycho-murderer who was carrying it dropped it on his way back to the car after burying the body(s)..... I particularly like the 'custom' handle....

this is interesting

they can 'ban' people all they want.... If you don't put rangers out there to enforce the current laws it means nothing... They've got 0 dollars allocated for new law enforcers -- which if they had there wouldn't be the problem in the first place. -
