    Word screening

I am against censorship; the public should be able to say what they want, when, where, and however they choose. However, to make this analogous to hunting: You can't hunt on private ground without permission, and you can't say whatever you want on a private website without permission. So I guess the whims of the tongue are still free in hunting camp, but the hands are chinese finger-cuffed on CW. I've gotta say though -- censoring this site for children is ridiculous. Many people consider the blood and violence of hunting a greater sin than vulgar language. We all take for granted the image of a broken down dead animal, blood and gore on the smiling hunters. Sticks (arrows) and Stones (metal ones) may break my bones (just ask a buck!) but Words will never hurt me!!!! If your child surfs the internet, and you are worried about them seeing a swear word on CW, you've got your head in a hole about what else they have access to! ITS THE INTERNET!!!

    Sheep shed?

That is fricken awesome! I'm always on the lookout for old sheep horns (they can persist on the landscape for years). I can't wait till I find my first one!

Ethics get in the way of everything

Buy some pulleys and a rope, string a buck target up on it, haul it around, find a wash or somewhere and string it across, get your kids to pull away on it. Taking a moving shot at an animal is possible with practice. Do they still do those shots at archery competitions? My father-in-law tells me about how he used to win (and kill) with those shots.

    GRONG! GRONG! GRONG!

I got a Picture Mail too! At 2:30 in the morning!! GRONG, do you know what that does to a man? Ripping him out of his REM sleep, forcing him to squint his blurred eyes to count the tines, his clouded mind trying to figure up the inches, the realization that I, I mean he, could be out there in only hours searching for his own buck??? That said, if you ever have any other pictures like that you are more than welcome to send them at all hours of the night. good job man! T

    Southern units and safety

Jeez Bob! Isn't the danger part of the fun of hunting in the 36's? Some of us like to live dangerously...

    Ethics

I'd answer truthfully on the card (I do); it helps the managers guess how much wounding is going on, and they can extrapolate from that for science based management... The question I have is: are you penalized unknowingly for answering truthfully? They keep track of who filled out the questionaire (there is a serial number on the card that has your tag # on it). What if they see that the same hunter has wounded game EVERY time he has killed and reported? Do they let that guy keep hunting and wounding? OR does he mysteriously stop getting drawn?? T

    Accuracy with broadheads

my broad-heads group low and to one side of where my field points group. Go buy a dozen broad-heads and practice with real blades. (Yes, they're expensive, but how much are you willing to pay to shoot a buck?) Another tip: number your arrows on the vane and start paying attention to where they hit -- not all factory arrows shoot the same, you'll find that certain arrows fly similarly every shot. Find your best arrows and when you are done practicing put your hunting broadheads on them and put them in your quiver. T

    Lucky Charms!!

I pick up every horse shoe I find, as well as old lost arrows, and antlers for that matter... My lucky charms are tortoises; whenever I see one I know I'm going to have some luck that day. A walking tortoise (noisy little thing scraping along the ground) covered for me on the stalk that I took my first buck. T

    How accurate is this map???

I'd say that there are some changes; such as in Coue's moving down lower in elevation to take over areas abandoned by muleys (since their decline). I heard a story about how Saguaro East used to have nothing but Muleys along the Desert loop drive, but now all they see are Coue's. T

    T-minus

thanks everyone, I'm excited, but I'm ready for the long haul... I usually can only glass a big buck 1-2 times over the whole archery hunt, these bucks are elusive. I saw both these guys a few days ago though, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. An interesting aside; that Giant 2x is the one I have all of the sheds off of... http://www.coueswhitetail.com/shed_photos/coues_sheds_13.htm A bonus though is that he is now sporting a 5 inch extra tine behind his right eye guard:

    Once in a lifetime

fan-fricken-tastic! glad to see you got your ram... sorry that you've burned all the good luck your family will have for the next 3 generations (1st by getting drawn, and a big 2nd for scoring a monster ram!) T

    I really, really like Mexico

Its okay to say you 'love' Mexico, I'd say it if it kept giving up beauties like that for me! Just don't let your wife know she's got competition. Awesome.

    Shoot him or not

...exactly, that was advise from another hunter If you get 10 yards from any buck with your bow, shoot it.
