I just joined Twitter; I'm following AZ G&F and have been getting some cool updates from them; I'm also following Congressional stuff -- there are quite a few hunting groups on here as well that might be important to follow. Amanda, have you considered putting CouesWhitetail.com up on Twitter, might be a good way to keep members informed about events, updates, etc? T

Only look if you look for brown bown.... but can't find any.

Went out this morning to one of my honey holes looking for brownies and turned up a nice whitey -- its a buck I've filmed for a few years now, nice wide 3x3 but short eyeguards, goes in the low 90's Only had my video camera so these are low quality - but better than nothin! Tyson -

I've got at least one other of his horns in my pile, see the last photo, he's the buck that got me started shed hunting http://www.coueswhitetail.com/shed_photos/coues_sheds_13.htm -

Sitka Gear Website Updated for 2009
SilentButDeadly replied to Red Rabbit's topic in Other Hunting Gear
i need to hurry up and become a world champion archer, or kill a bunch of B&C bucks and bulls on camera with my longbow so I can get me some sweet pro-deal freebies. That gear is cool (looks like a good color for the rocky desert), but sure to be super spendy. T -
This video really embodies my feelings about the environment... The idea that the greenies have that 'to love nature you cannot touch it,' is spot on. It reminds me of the Teddy Roosvelt quote: "Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorius triumphs, even though checkered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat." Better to go out and get nature under your fingernails, to sweat and bleed for it, than to sit back on the road and view it from a detached distance. Thanks, T

Yes, there is stuff that doesn't go out in the email (probably because there are 2-3 updates a day - a bit much for email boxes).

I've seen those rock walls in the Tortolitas; I'd assumed they were from a more recent rancher...

get a marker and number you arrows. shoot a few groups, see which arrows go where consistently are you shooting groups at close range?, always always make sure you are grouping; if not than you might be the problem, not the bow. it could be mechanical (hitting the rest, etc) but that would have to do with knock and vane configuration, just make sure that they aren't misaligned. The Tarahumara indians down in Copper Canyon are persistence hunters, they are also probably the greatest distance runners in existence (no kidding). I heard a story (no proof as to whether it is true) about how a couple of them got brought up for one of these ultra-marathons that people are doing now-a-days... Apparently the first thing they did was get drunk; second, they went to the dump and found some old tires, cut out the tread and made them into sandals; third, as they ran the race they would taunt the other competitors by running with them for several hours before dusting them, fourth, they got drunk again. My guess is that a more than a few Coues down in the Sierra Madre have been run down. http://www.ultralegends.com/tarahumara-indians/

you've GOTTA watch this!!
SilentButDeadly replied to Kilimanjaro's topic in Non-hunting trip reports
Ya dude, watched this last year... I guess a few people have been killed out on it, not surprising when you see the holes in the concrete, bent out guard rails, etc. They sure don't build um like they used to! -
IMO, you're in college, save the 800-1200 bucks on a mount and use that to go on an out of state hunt and kill another (bigger) bull, then reevaluate. If you keep mounting them, you will be missing out on money to go hunting with! T

+1 on the poncho, the ones that have their own pocket are great; perfect for those 'it doesn't look like rain this morning' days... T

Need Your Honest Opinions

My 2 cents, fill in the name: ________ is part of our local economy, ________ factory is in Tucson so you can walk in and walk out with parts, no shipping or wait The other stuff (which IMO is not tangible): ________ makes the 'best' bow, according to the peanut gallery... ________ has the best customer service... ________ makes me feel all warm and fuzzy when I stroke the label...
