And an entourage of Seal team 6

I hear Encanto Park is nice, go at night to beat the heat and maybe see some wildlife up close. But seriously, AK is the bomb. At least one way there or coming back, book a boat that uses the inside passage. Many have fishing excursions enroute. It's the best way to see the sea faring side of Alaskans

Always interested in a new or good one I haven't seen List a couple Westerns you like. Two of mine are Tombstone and Missouri Breaks.

Will Penny, Charlton Heston; been awhile but I recall a pretty good film.

That Canook nailed a lotta Hollywood honeys back in the day including Judy Garland. Glen Ford's son said of his ol man, Jimmy Stewart on the outside, perhaps, but he had the lust and libido of an Errol Flynn."

Most TV Westerns took a lot of creative license, most consumers just wanted drama with horses and cowboys. A recent Laramie episode had prison guards in 1881 carrying Krags. Always amazes me to see a cowboy make camp. He's only got light saddle bags, no pack animal... But he'll always have a coffee pot, frying pan, cans of food, spirits, etc. Sometimes he'd even whip out a coffee grinder for fresh roast. Nothing for the horse.

I'll have to look for Broken Trail and He11 or High Water, first two films mentioned that I don't recall. Last night I watched Thundering Drums with Richard Boone. A lot of attention was paid to authenticity, ie; the troops carried early Allin conversion carbines, McClellan Saddles etc.. And every mount wore issued rope halters and leads neatly tied under the animals neck exactly as would have been done for picketing. Nicely done. However, Ft Canby is not in the Sonoran Desert. 😆

Lonesome Dove and for laughs, Blazing Saddles. It's not Hedy, it's Hedley Lamarr.

I'd like everyone to list their favorite Western and why. OP, Chris, come over here far NW valley anytime and we'll ride out the back gate. I'm in the Petroglyphs. Not too exciting but some things to see. I think you have my number.

I've cut my news consumption way back, replaced it with Westerns. I'm usually a stickler for at least some authenticity. Don't tell me it's 1868 and you're packin a saa M1873... And why are there so many Italians type cast as N/A's? Please don't tie your horse up with a rein.... See what I mean?

If a saddletramp is comfortable riding drag, time to find a new outfit?
