Getting colder. Abandoned dynamite vault

Jeff William makes learning geology fun. Different detectors for different detecting. The Equinox 800 is perfect for coinshooting and artifact digging. Tells you with a high degree of certainty what your digging while canceling out the non-ferrous junk. I borrowed an Equinox 800 from Minelab dealer Bill Southern a couple years ago. Had more of a learning curve than I had time to invest.. I have a Whites Eagle II I use for coins and artifact hunting. Bought it off Craigslist for $200. The $1200 price on that E 800 seems a little high. Minelab offers a 15% discount for vets. Here's a little piece of gold bearing rock I found today with the Minelab Gold Monster.

You know you have made some resolutions for the 2022 hunting season. Share them here and when your goal(s) are achieved, say I told you so. I've made three: 1) Obtain the best fitness possible. 2) Called in Mt Lion using a hand call. 3) Archery buck.

I'll have to try one when this phone takes a dump, been expecting that. Made one at home for my previous phone and it worked good.

After several days, revisited the area. Found my arrow and also found I had misjudged the bucks distance by 22yards. Just flat out missed and the wily buck used the terrain to give me the slip. Spent Thursday in 44a then over to 20c. Not a deer moving in either unit but tons of fresh sign in the later. Any updates?

Fabulous pics, thanks for sharing.

Adding wildlife photography to my list.

There's plenty of G&F folks on CWT. Another commonality they possess, they all asked for anonymity. I still have use for cams, like busting trespassers. Going to miss the amazing pics I've seen over the years. Personally I'm going to try and turn the cam ban into a positive by taking more live pics myself and posting them here.

I truly hope that works out for you

Just kicked up a bedded buck. He stopped broadside at 50yards gave me a shot. Looking for him now.

Spent yesterday in southern most area of 20C where I've seen a lot of deer in the past. All I saw were jackrabbits. Considered tagging one of them hares after he hopped over and stared cross eyed at me. Headed farther north in the unit. I want to spend New years day making deer jerky.

Pm sent

Yup, I was up north. Pretty good chill in the air.

I was out looking at some remote properties today, not hunting. Of course I came across two groups of mule deer. 6 younger bucks sniffing does. And no more than 30-40 yards away. Ouch.

I'll take all 3 too

Why, cuz I can Google?

Spangenberg Gunsmith, Tombstone, Arizona Territory: A Very Rare Leather Rifle Scabbard. George F. Spangenberg was a legendary Tombstone gunsmith whose shop on 4th Street also sold ammunition and leather accessories. Sometime after the OK Corral gunfight he closed up shop and move to Tucson, where he began working for a mining company. However, it seems he had made some enemies. One night Spangenberg had an altercation in a local bar, and several days later four men came looking for him and confronted him in a tool shed where he was working. The details are a bit sketchy, but Spangenberg killed three of the men inside the toolshed, the fourth just outside, and grabbed the next stage out of town. Today a recreation of his gun shop operates as a tourist attraction on 4th, just across the street from its original location. Leather gun accessories sold by Spangenberg are extremely rare. Authorities with whom we consulted remember seeing a couple of holsters, but never a rifle scabbard. The example offered here is in very good condition, with only typical moderate surface wear from use, and no damage. All four leather attachment loops are present, and there is an attractive embossed border around the open end and underside. The logo "Spangenberg/Gunsmith/Tombstone A.T." is deeply stamped on both sides, with "35 R" stamped below each logo. Length 36.5".
