Was this an interpretive fire dance of Pickett's Charge?
-
We've been going to a local indoor gun range to take advantage of coupons we got for the establishment.... but no more. I've never seen a more undisciplined and motley crew of gun totting bottom feeders looking for an accident to happen. While waiting for a lane to open, I watched thru the glass as a woman stared down the barrel of a 1911 that had misfired. Another one came in to the desk and complained her rental pistol was defective. That was when she was taught to rack the semi=auto to put a round in the tube and back to the firing line she went. Got swept by an AR-15 a young man was returning to the desk, he had it backwards in the case with the barrel sticking out. He began to sweep me a second time when I grabbed the barrel and yelled at him to wake up...he just shrugged and said "No habla."

36A Batamote Ranch gate locked
Edge replied to 2thehunt's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Sometimes hunters, sometimes others. Some of the gate signs should also read CERRADO LA PUERTA, not that that would make any difference to those whom have no vested interest. -
trphyhntr.... step away from the donuts, hand me the beer.

Withdrawals....
Edge replied to Non-Typical Solutions's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
The political discussion helped set this forum apart from others that are too moderated and can't handle the truth. If it offends you, look away. No one is forcing you to read or participate. One more thing, Obama is not a hunter and would rather you not hunt as well. His admin. will take care of all the forest creatures for you. -
So the mules and illegals are back in there? I spent a lot of last fall in there and saw none and the BP said it was safe in there, no activity. Changed that much in the last 8-9 months?

Great shot. What will you do with that tag?

Most men experience what you are going thru so don't be alarmed or depressed. You still have "children, minors" so relish that. The real horrors came for me when my two oldest, a son and daughter, joined the USMC and found themselves fighting in the middle east. You'll never know such pride and terror rolled into one miserable sandwich. You live from phone call to phone call hoping they are taking care of themselves and their buddies while in harms way and there aint a thing you can do about it. My son was part of man tracking team, mostly hunting down IED setters. Did I teach him enough about camouflage, silhouetting, blending in and shooting straight, was it enough? Fathers, teach them well, you don't know how someday it may help them get back home.

Dad taught me to use a hand caller too and I always have one and a squeaker. I have just as a good of luck with the hand call as I do the e caller. But I like to be able to have the critters come in to the e caller and not necessarily to me. I also like using the coyote pack locator feature of the e caller at night. If I'm willing to hike into the wilderness alone at night to call in predators, I see the electronics as a fair trade off.

I've had several the last 35 years. They are hard wired enough to rush into an ocotillo patch to send the bulls out. Twice I've seen my heeler rush into the grass or brush ahead of me and toss a rattler in the air if he thinks I'm in danger. They are very loyal, energetic dogs and always seem to know when there's a camera out. They are great companion dogs and go everywhere I do unless it's just too hot. They'll make themselves right at home in your truck and feel betrayed if you go somewhere without them. But don't teach them to drive, they're smart enough, but slick enough to hotwire one, too. Look up Skidboot on Youtube.

Fundamentally, the marksman aims at himself. Good luck, all.

Yotebuster You don't see many silos but you see a lot of pellet bins in the valley. When I lived on the UT side of the border, everyone had them for storage sheds, out buildings and bean and wheat storage. Seen a couple made into wicked apartments.

Rincon area Jackrabbit

When I was there, the cave concession and park below it was a 99 year lease given to the Millhouse family. Now it's a state park. But then, dad used to take us out to Pantano Wash between Golf links and 22nd St. to scope in the rifles. Lol You just got to go further and further out. Maybe towards Pantano/Marsh Station Road? -
