Even my shooting stix are offended!

I remember him, Lark. Yes, the actual meteorologist in broadcasting is rare these days. The NWS provides most forecasts complete with quips and pleasantries and the anchors read them on air word for word and rarely take the initiative to actually look outside.
-
Me and a buddy from W. Texas are out on his farm in Buckeye. There's a tornado about 15 miles straight south side of Rainbow Valley.
-
Interesting. I was in high school in Tucson then (Go Cougars) and learning to appreciate meteorology and hearing the term 'monsoon' for the first time. Just after Nam too so it's all coming together.

What's more sillier is assigning a date for the commencement and exit of said moisture laiden winds. It's not a freaking UPS package, people. Haven't heard them called Sonorans before, but I like it! Bill, how long ago are we talking about those newspaper articles?
-
"Not a Buick." That weather guy in Tucson, is that the same one that was stalking a fellow anchor lady? Haboobs should only strike in pairs and make for titilating motor boat sounds.

SNAFU My bipods used to be illegal, now they're simply undocumented.
-
yes, for my shooting sticks you only need to know a few terms.....Alto, silencio su Boca.....

Where and what elevation and weather is germane.

...but, but he whom is the most liberal among us is always the smartest one in the room, right? -
Tragic. America has lost a patriot.
-
me too. When hunting down south, I find Guatamalens and Hondurans make for a nice rest.
-
Used your shoulder on that Muley buck back in the day. Ugly sticks?
-
Sorry to hear the sad news. Celebrate her life.
-
Nice pic, looks like several funnel clouds forming. Doesn't take long these days for a catchy phrase to become lexicon. Seems like just yesterday El Nino was a mexican anchor child.

Game present, people absent. -
Must be a new term. A decade as a DOD weatherhead and another decade free lancing weather data/upper wind obs and climate studies. First heard the term with the vortex that hit my buddies place about 6 weeks ago in Lichfield Park. Heard a lot of news stations calling that a funnel cloud, wrong. If the NWS is anything like the DOD, duty forecasters are punished if a tornado watch wasn't published before hand. Punishment could be what's called a bust review where you have to go back and study the data in order to understand why the weather phenomena occurred. Get the forecast wrong enough in the DOD and you could be facing court martial.

Some things are just better left lost, I reckon.

Take the 60 to Globe, north to Holbrook, east on I-40 to Abq then north on the 25.
-
wait, whose well?Auto correct?

I guess I'm getting old. I no longer remember my office # @ Luke AFB Weather Det., am no longer a NWS storm watcher, AMS wants too much to reinstate me as an associate.... But I'm 110% certain I watched a tornado in its dying state today in Maricopa County. Hunting related? Should be a great rut in 23 next several days.

Ha-ha, yea, seen enough to know. Actually my buddy from TX pointed it out to me. Was already gone to rope stage and 45 seconds later, gone. It's in the center of the pic, just right of the white power pole.
