Cool story. I'd been happy with him or his smaller buddy. I haven't ever been to concerned with rack size but I am getting a new found appreciation for you hunters that put in the time and effort to find the monsters. This buck had a big body and decent rack. Nearly 50% larger than last year's.

thanks man, hope you can join us for the archery hunt.

Thanks sir,Betcha that 'turret' looking mtn on the right brings back some memories.

Its a .243, can't recall if its a 1956 or 1957 model but, my dad bought it for mom new so she could hunt too. It's brought down a lot of game and three species of deer.

thanks buddy. Well earned is right. Knew I was in average shape but going up and down those hills for two days was an eye opener.

What a great first deer, will be tough to top.

thanks, humor is important. I take newbies hunting all the time and have had the same results. But I have never discussed going hunting with someone in 12 hours like we did, then fall off the face of the earth, reappear and lie about it. Dude face it, you're just rude. -

I know you're not talking about me duh, and yes I pm'd you my number, resended it 12 hours later when you flaked. You know exactly where im coming from. Grow up and try and ad some honesty to your character. Why did I answer your thread about hunting is a stupid question, everyone on here loves hunting and some of us like meeting new folks to share the outdoors with. However, your pissy, arrogant attitude serves as a reminder that a hunting trip with good buddies or solo is the best way to go. -

You come on here whining about respect while being disrespectful is about the height of hypocrisy. I saw your thread for quail hunting and pm'd ya. We had a back and forth. I didn't need you to put me on birds, got them out my back doors and that's where I ended up, but would have gladly put you on them closer to your house. Half way into our discussion, I'm putting my gear together, pm'd you my phone # as to where to meet up, then silence. You think it's cool to leave another hunter hanging that way, bro then looks to me like you got your just desserts. A simple call or pm saying your plans had changed is how a man would have handled it. I didn't come on your threads and whine, didn't tell you how I felt about your disrespect, figured you'd have to learn more about life first. Suck it up. Lmao Anytime you put a stranger or friend onto game, there's a good chance this will happen. Go solo or expect the occasional turd sandwich -
tagged a decent buck in 24b at noon, couple miles into the wilderness area. Going in deeper week after next.

Go back. Bucks are creatures of habit with short memories

Repair a fence you just cut? We all know a good percentage of yahoos can't even be bothered to close a gate.
-
That's destruction of property. How many hunters carry wire dogs, stretchers and wire or have the knowledge to properly repair a cut fence? 20 years ago I came home to my farm to find pheasant hunters had slid off a canal and into my pasture. They cut the fence, drove a 1/4 mile in the mud ruining some winter forage, then cut the fence again just 75' from unlocked gates they could have used. I had to dedicate the next several days to rounding up livestock. Luckily none was injured in traffic.

Nice buck, Charlie. But I can't open the Video. What phone do you have?

Call the regional gf office. They track them and should be helpful.

Unsuccessful in the Draw leads to a successful hunt

looked like a fun hunt for sure. Your AK buddy looked like he found his sealegs work well on mule too.I've seen mares new to the string not give a rats patooty about herding up, specially when mules are concerned. We're headed into the sticks with pack animals Friday, we'll post pics. When a pack animal goes for a long vertical roll, you know it's rough in there. Glad y'all and the stock are ok, nice buck, too..- 12 replies

Nicely done, looks like my first deer. Good job bringing home the steaks, young man.

Can they beat the Panthers? And if so, what would they look like against the Pats? In either case they're going to have to make a lot fewer mistakes.

Great write up. Had two horses get loose earlier this year in a remote wilderness area but the dominant mare stayed tied and yelled at them when ever they got more than a couple hundred yards. Was it rough in there? What wilderness were you in?- 12 replies
