The old model 88 Winchester has been knocking down Coues, antelope and javelina since my parents moved to AZ in the 50's. Lord knows how many rounds later, no matter how much I scrub the bore, 2nd and third rounds are flyers. Is the barrel shot out, bedding issues, scope worn out? Handed the rifle over to MulePackHunter for some bore measurements when he goes all out and rebedded the barrel, scrubs and laps the bore and fits new scope and mounts on it. Say whaaaa? Here's the results before scope adjustments, three rounds at 100 yards. Thanks Mike

Hey Cliff, I sat beside you at the recent SCI banquet.I've been in the San Mateo's twice, made it once to the graves. What a coincidence, Cliff, I've read everything I could find on that event and the history of that area. When the gang was shot at their mtn hideout, the posse opted to just return the gangs heads to San Marcello. The Kids head remained on display in a jar of alcohol until the town was buried in a flood decades later. Those hills are also thought to hide 2 brass Howitzers taken from Ft Craig and later cached by the Confederates on their route back to TX To cool, Cliff I read all about your kin. PS, been to Ojo Caliente, too. My grandparents worked on what was once the Diamond A, west of Ft Bayard.

Thanks Duane And thanks all for the lead. Mr Corona was a pleasure to talk with. Hopefully meet up with him when the Bumblebee Ranch hosts the Hope Kids 11/14. The Hope Kids is an organization similar to The Make a Wish Foundation. Big doings out in Bumblebee on 11/14 come out and volunteer for a rewarding day. Mr. Corona hopes to set up an archery range. There's also a fishing pond and horseback riding for the youngsters. (I run the roping event and can count on being hogtied about a dozen times). Pm me if you'd like to help. Last time there were hundreds of special need kids there, very exhausting.

A buddy realized yesterday he had a conflict in his hunting schedule. His wife made up his mind for him like she so often does and now his gmu 21 deer tag for 11/6 won't be needed. He's an army vet with a big heart, so when I suggested he might be able to donate it for a wounded warrior, he was hopeful. He has no computer and can't be on the phone days. So anyone with experience on how to get this done? Does SCI handle these donated tags, too?
