That's an old coin Oneshot but not 1781. That's Queen Victoria on a British or Canadian coin. Coin would have been struck sometime during her monarchy 1837-1901. I found an 1872 Victorian silver half dollar outside an old bunkhouse in southern NM. It's pretty worn, wonder how many poker games it was in?

Look for rock with tooling marks and lithic scatters on the ground where stone tools were made and knapping occurred. But don't touch unless on private land.

Pretty sure it is still illegal to remove any Indian made artifact found on state or federal land ... everything like arrowheads, pottery , beads , ect... is suppose to be left . please let me know if I am wrong . Heck, I'd be scared to take any kind of native american artifacts I've found in the field.
