I had two growing up. I preferred the first one, it had the tubular mag. unfortunately it got run over by the '48 Willys. But Remington replaced it with a model taking the 10rd banana mag. I slayed so many rabbits with it after time you had to hold the mag like a forestock and find the sweet spot for it to feed. Which magazine does this have, not seeing a banana mag?

what size was the previous.......check out the GI duffel bag from bass pro... or maybe a military surplus store even cheaper looking on line depending on size http://www.basspro.com/Outdoor-Products-G-I-Duffle-Bag/product/15020408215916/ James Thanks for the quick replies. The tent is a big coleman 12 man. I would guess the current bag is approximately 48" x 14" x 14". I don't think a standard duffel bag is big enough. I need an extraordinarily large duffel:)I have my 12x16 canvas wall tent and poles in my GI issue duffel bag. Please don't tell it it's too small, might give it a complex.

You can get a duffel bag at most Goodwill stores for less than $10.

Yeah I saw them but security kept them clear down on Craycroft, nearly 1/2 mile away. While they protested us out in the 110F heat, we protested them from the cool, cozy banquet room complete with filet mignon, cold beer and videos of Tim Wells doing some extreme hunting. Yup, I picked the right protest group to be in. Thanks Amanda, had a great time again this year.

I was hiking yesterday between Grief Hill and 169. Came around a bend in the trail and startled what looked like 3 cow elk under some junipers. Only got a couple seconds glimpse before they scrambled over a crest 150 yards from me but 90% certain they were elk. I've been up and down those hills a lot, never seen them there before.

It was good meeting you, why can't everyone be as polite? The dumbbells were in good shape, I was careful not to wear them out. Try Craigslist and swap meets too.

Heat, sorry I missed this thread somehow, you're one of the good guys on this board. I'll send prayers right away. Can totally relate to your situation. Went to the doc for some respiratory issues recently and all I heard was cancer. It's like getting hit by a hammer. Stay positive, friend and keep the faith.

Grandpa's Springfield 1917 rifle rebuild, maybe 6.5-06?
Edge replied to Zeke-BE's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
OP, here's one old guys mindset; dad will turn 90 in a few months. He gave me this early .06 Gamemaster about 20 years ago and still asks about it. Some 15 years ago and despite my efforts with neatsfoot oil, the sling was finally worn out and had to be replaced. The news upset him even though I kept the original sling... A couple years later, got a 10 round mag for it. This perplexed him. But when I mentioned taking off that antique 4X Weaver tube and replacing it with a better scope, I about gave him a stroke. Told him the old 'post and wire hair made it tough to acquire the target beyond 150 yards. His reply, "150 yards, get your butt closer, thought I taught you to hunt better than that." When I left, he refused to make eye contact and was still muttering his distain for shots past 150 yards with that setup. Point is, there may come a day when you may want to take a deer with that old rifle just exactly like grandpa did. -

Leave it alone or you'll look back someday someday and regret it. Give the barrel a good lapping and see how she shoots. I sold a 1917 improved to .300HH, what a beast. -
I've got room for individuals and some livestock north of Surprise.
