people selling hunting spots on line....your thoughts
Edge replied to davehc130's topic in The Campfire
Continue to decline? Good maybe I'll get that 5a early bull tag. Who cares, hunt in tough to get to spots and you'll have solitude. I rarely encounter anyone while big game hunting. -
First I'd like to refer you to the Lode mining law of 1866, codified in the General mining law of 1872 in which a right to ingress and egress to mineral deposits is granted to all US citizens. This right has been reaffirmed multiple times in state and federal courts up to and including the US Supreme Court. Second, I'd like to refer you to a portion of the law that gave the BLM it's authority as administrator of public lands but limits it's ability to control travel; specifically 43 U.S. Code § 1732 - Management of use, occupancy, and development of public lands "Except as provided in section 1744, section 1782, and subsection (f) of section 1781 of this title and in the last sentence of this paragraph, no provision of this section or any other section of this Act shall in any way amend the Mining Law of 1872 or impair the rights of any locators or claims under that Act, including, but not limited to, rights of ingress and egress" Third, is what's commonly referred to as RS2477, part of the Mining act of 1866, stating "The right of way for the construction of highways over public lands, not reserved for public uses, is hereby granted" Although this section was repealed by the FLPMA of 1976, any public right of was existing at the time was again protected. “Nothing in this Act or any amendment made by this Act, shall be construed as terminating any valid right-of-way or other land use right or authorization existing on the date of approval of this Act.” Finally, I'd like to direct you to Arizona's HB 2175, signed into law by Governor Ducey last year. HB 2175 confirms and asserts Arizona's right to control all rights of way existing prior to the passing of the FLPMA act of 1976. Simply put; hunters, prospectors and outdoor enthusiasts should all have garunteed and equal access to our public lands. But certain previous executive administration's agendas that put these travel ban plans into place, often need reminding of who the government works for.

I would hope ranchers right of ways are protected but after the Bundy fiasco, nothing surprises me. I have a mineral lease on BLM in 20C and there are laws on the books going back 135 years that prohibits the Govt from denying me access to that lease.

You can tell the epoxied turquoise by heating a needle with a lighter. A hot needle will penetrate epoxy. A lot of low grade or imitation NA jewelry contains nickle which is much cheaper than silver. I keep an acid testing kit for dealing with precious metals ID.

We lease pasture in Wadell and someone was stealing hay. The individual that lives out there and runs a barn was running around accusing us leasees of theft. I set up cameras only to find out it was the barn ho whom was accusing everyone else doing the thievery.

"Houston, the Eagle has landed!"

A certain party/parties did their best to torpedo the thread with their language and banter. They should be banned rather than have the ability to lock any threads they find undesirable.

Not easy to tell the Nannys from the Billys. Wiki says they're solitary animals but I've seen them from Banff to central CO and they were always in groups.
-
I had no idea they were transplants. I've also seen them at 9700' at La Jara Reservoir. A herd crossed the busy hiway there and several goats were nearly hit by lapsidazical drivers.

Well the Kaibab is 4 hrs from Crown King so guess I wont be surprised the next time I see a buffalo wander through there. Then it's your lucky day, get a hotel room, push the lucky envelope.

I said ne. La Sal

I've seen mountain goat herds 4 hours ne of there so I'm not surprised.

The footage of the landing was taken from a camera on board the Eagle..
