I can tell you what I was told long ago concerning gold vs currency. It isn't that gold is going up in value but rather the dollar is going down. You can purchase the same goods or services 200 years ago with an ounce of gold that you can get today. But as the dollar buys much less than it did 200 years ago, you need more dollars to buy the same ounce of gold. Probably the major difference between gold and currency is inflation. Inflation doesn't affect gold but annually takes a bite out of the dollar. Watch the Treasure of Sierra Madre someday. The old prospector gives a pretty good accounting of how gold gets its value.

I don't speak for the tribe but it would appear they believe if the plane landed on their rez, it's now their property or maybe they are after the reward? I believe if you were to mention you are interested in looking for the plane, you'd be denied permission to look even in open areas of the rez. The planes owner wants gps coordinates of the wreckage sight. You may not necessarily need boots on the ground for that (hint) depending on the condition of the craft.

My better half is a director with Cuisinart Waring Conair. Years ago the Chinese were setup with manufacturing Cuisinart goods. The Chinese always refused to take any faulty products back, were caught using substandard parts. One such debacle involved them using subpar rivets in food processers a few years ago. The rivots were failing causing cutting blades to go flying like shiny razor shrapnel. The processors all had to be recalled and there was liability suits against the company in the tens of millions. Of course the Chinese could not be held accountable nor would they allow the manufacturing be moved, how would they make knockoffs? The manufacturing has been coming home since.

They had the area closed for hazardous fire conditions when the plane went down. They may have kept it closed to prevent nontribal members from searching. Ps, the reward is up to $40K last time I was in contact with the planes owner.
