Cool pic of him at full draw on her! Well done!

Ya…no. Like I said, zero interest in a guide. I will just go with what I had planned. Thanks for responses.

It’s a great thing watching your kids take things you’ve taught them and have success. Congratulations to you both!

I appreciate the response but have no interest in hiring a guide. Just thought I might get some responses on tactics that people have used. Thanks again.

Your posts never disappoint. I’ve actually been rooting for you on this hunt, hoping you will be able to find him. If you are still out there, good luck!!

52 yards?! That’s awesome! Congratulations!!

Awesome! Thanks for sharing!

I’m guessing around 105. Like has been said, hard to tell from pics. Regardless, it’s a great looking buck and hope she’s happy with him! Congratulations!!

I haven’t been out but have some buddies that have and the reports are horrible (SE part of state). I was also thinking there would be quite a few hold overs from last year, because I hunted the very end of the season and the numbers were really strong. Guess I was wrong…

Forgive my ignorance here but I see the term “crossguns”being used a lot in this thread. Is this a new term for crossbows or is this something different? FYI, this debate has been going on for over 20 years that I know of and I don’t really see much need for a change. Is there some big increase in the number of people hunting with them now in Az, or are we just looking for stuff to argue over? I have hunted ALOT of archery seasons and have witnessed very few people using crossbows in the field.

Congratulations! Looks like you guys had a great time!

Congratulations young man! Well done.

IMO they are both decent bucks, not “trophy” bucks. The question of shooters or not is always up to the tag holder. If he looks good to you, and you would be happy to have him, then shoot without hesitation and take good pictures to look back on years later!

Nice!! Thank you for posting.

Last weekend on the youth hunt every buck we saw was still in full velvet. We glassed probably 15 or so bucks. I would think they would start rubbing this week.

My experience at this time of year is you will have a very good chance of seeing it again

I am by no means a photographer, but to me that is an AMAZING photo! Thanks for posting.
