Also trailer isn't a bad thing, trying to load and unload a Jon boat by yourself and the motor and battery, with the trailer every thing is in it and ready to go, your son can even learn to load it, anyway I wouldn't go less then 12"and the motor is plenty big

Well the season begins, knoll fire started today around 10am between elison creek and fish hatchery, apparently started by fire works at 100 acers no containment. Please be carefull this weekend. Very very very dry, should be close to fires. Oh ya many fires left unattended this last weekend. Here we go

Minnows 3' to 4' down under bobber , find under water tree, hang on , don't set the hook to hard or you will be litterly be ripping lips, they have soft mouths, I use my trout rig.

Here's what we used to do all the time and smoked them from the bank. Cross at Across and fish the tonto end on the other side of the lake along cove banks. Then we would use chartreus green Bush Wackers AKA spinner baits 2 blade with white double tail trailer with a extra trailer hook for short bites. Start at sun up, cast length wise parallel to the bank about 8' out and reel really slow and bump the bottom when you figure what depth there at hold on. She'll have a blast. Crappie just us a minnow and a bobbers' float along bank. Hope this helps. Goodluck
