That one would be a shoe in for Americas funniest Videos. So much so it would have to move up to the Okies funniest videos. A few pictures would be worth a thousand words Lark.

Terrorists Cross into US Via AZ Border
az4life replied to az4life's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
that is a big 10-4 on the good people you meet while hunting. So many on this board seem to fit the upper class of the good ones too! Unfortunately, "we" are not the only ones out there. I don't want to over blow this but just do not take things for granted, and keep your wits about you while in the field.... Do Take Care, and have a Great Season -
Tahnks for posting all the Nice Pictures. I was not drawn so I have to live vicariously through others this year! Good Luck to all of you guys in 36b. Sounds like it will be a bunch of you!

Terrorists Cross into US Via AZ Border
az4life replied to az4life's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
hey fatfotdoc If they are camped in your spot, send them packin back to wherever the #&(( they came from. The Best way to do that is to be neighborly and offer em some breakfast! Eggs, bacon or sausage are menu favorites in this case. Make sure you Say a Prayer for the meal and and if they reach for anything besides a fork, just "innoculate" them with some lead. J K says Terrorists are just a "nuisance" so I don't think he ever hunted with the fear of one of them being in your area. Vote Democrat... It is easier than working for a living... -
Mighty nice looking rack! I would ahve like to seen that big dude when he was up and around with that head gear swaying as he walked by! Maybe you can run onto his older Brother this for one of your live hunts. Great Find

Terrorists Cross into US Via AZ Border

These scumbags deserve to rot in the wild. I bet those Backpacks were not full of tools to do carpentry or masonry in some US city. I also wondered if there was any connection to the Hunter found murdered down there around the border. How about it, Were any of you BP agents in the loop on this one? I sure hope you were not kept in the dark. reports I read said the info was from Late July, early Sept. Take Care -
Last year I know someone who had a game camera back in behind top of the world a mile or more and he got a few nice pics of some decent bucks. He hunted back there but never got the one he wanted. He also had pics of coati's and Bears. We Didn't draw a tag so no conflict of interest there. West on one of the roads out of pinto valley mine sort of back toward top of the world, and as others have said... no matter how bad it looks, it is worse on foot! Good Luck

You know that each day, and situation will dictate the ultimate "most important" item. All things being equal (like that will happen) I would say Scent is more imortant. Cha Ching... Another .02 in the kitty...

These new rules and regulations are getting tougher it is undeniable. Other states have complicated draw processes, but AZ had stayed pretty easy compared to them. The tougher it gets, the fewer new hunters will apply. That may be good in the short term for the long time hunters, but lets think about it. The way the system is going, it may be easier to do your income taxes than do a hunt application. I might get into a business assisting hunters in filling out their apps. Guarantee no rejection due to form errors. Also it might take a fair amount of math to add up all the surcharges, and premium fees. Heck maybe the payday loan stores will be able to help the average guy float a loan for the application fees.

My buddy calls his by name after they are down. Impressive names like MEAT and HORNY. I started naming mine before I go out in the field for villains in real life. Years ago started with Noriega (amnuel Noriega). and lately there have been Saddam, and Osama. You get the Idea

Unfortunately that is what we got cause we have no one on the board with a heartfelt interest in protecting anything but their own job. Take the safe way out is the proven choice of these commissioners.

Found the article below and it is one of the better ones I have read on the problem. Also includes a map indicating documented states with CAPTIVE animal cases and pinpints the isolated WILD cervid outbreaks. It shows that the outbreaks in the wild have been confined to pretty small areas in just a few states. Too long to post it, but here is the link. Took me a little less than 10 minutes to read. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5463499/

Thanks for posting the details. I did not see them on the AZGFD page. I agree with Lark on a lot of this. Our liberal Victor Victoria Governor is a perfect example of a "throw money at it" liberal and no way will we get anything past her office to help AZ sportsmen. Don't get me started on that liberal wench. Even my dog knows (S)he is not "right". He looks around and acts concerned, sort of like if I spoke with a woman's voice, cocks his head and then quickly leaves the room when he hears her voice on the television. EVERY TIME I also think we (AZ Residents) took it in the shorts on these new rules. IT is getting bad and Moving to WYO is on my list of options. Only problem is the state is full of huge tracts of land that is privately owned and the tags may be reasonable, but the "owner Tresspass Fees" are often outrageous. Wyo also has the CWD (Mad Cow) disease in a lot of Elk and spreading rapidly to the Deer. Everything is a lot different there. The state only has around 500,000 residents and roughly same size as AZ. My experience is the residents are friendly after you do your first couple years to earn thier respect and trust. Those are a couple words the politicians and many others around here and CA don't know the meaning of. Trust, Respect, Friendly AZGFD took the easy way out and it shows that they do not have experience or good judgement to put the state wildlife resources and AZ sportsman first, ahead of the fear of legal impacts. As I said months ago, it is likely the beginning of the end for AZ hunters!

As others have said the 300 win mag is one of the best guns for a multitude of game, an for different reasons it too is my choice. It is enough gun for any game in North America and has arguably one of the widest array of "off the shelf" ammunition and bullets for reloading to support you on any hunt you take. If one had a different gun for every different animal climate and terrain, you would have to own quite a few guns. Using fewer guns, and adjusting to variable conditions with different loads is a pretty good alternative for most folks. Another advantage is you get to know the firearm better when you don't switch off so much. This topic was On Favorite Deer Rifles, so I will stick with the 300 Win Mag.

I have one that I got for Fathers day. It has 2 picture sesolutions, up to 1.3 megapixels, a zoom x2 feature and will shoot a video clip also. I have not field tested it, but on the street it looks better than the early ones that had only low res available. Here are a couple pics at normal and X2 zoom. Taken up the street and the truck at the end of the road is about 350 yards. THE PHOTOS ARE NOT EDITED. I may post a link to a video clip if I have time to upload it. The one I have came from Ebay, and is a NAXOS Viewcatcher 10x25 1.3 mp model. It ran about 80 bucks with shipping. Hope the info helps

Lots of interesting chat about the Governor Tags, but my point is a little different angle. I may be wrong, but As I recall during her campaign, she was more of an Anti-gun Anti-hunter than Salmon was.? Isn't it funny that our Governor who generally opposes guns and hunting is now able to "Sell or Auction" tags for big game when she generally is offended by hunting and Guns in General? I wonder who chooses the agencies that benefit from the Funds? I wonder if she just drums up funds for whatever special interest project on her wish list using these tags? Sounds Sort of like a Tree-Hugger, Vegetarian, PETA member wearing leather shoes and a fur coat eating a hunk of jerky. When you are a politician, I guess principles only apply to other people?

That BP lock on the gate sure gives you an edge. How about some copies of the keys for your good forum biddies that have tags in that area?

Lion Stalking deer
az4life replied to TREESTANDMAN's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
Lions, Major Pure Predators. I think they can and do kill in many ways. As others have said, whatever opportunity presents itself they make the most of it. Only seen 1 lion and he saw me as an easy meal. Every time I hear a story about a lion encounter it gives me chills and this set of photos was no exception. Fake or not, they are pretty cool! -
Outdoor Life Network(OLN) Coues show
az4life replied to GRONG's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
Sounds neat Josh! Have to mark the calendar for that. The prospect of coming home empty handed is not apealing to most of us but I would agree that the hunting experience itself is often rewarding enough by itself. Bringing home memories won't feed you, but it can be fulfilling. -
Definitely advise a lock and cable or chain. Something strong enough that you cannot cut it with anything a passerby might be carrying along on a hike. Cable will keep the honest guys honest and the scumbags will get it if they really want it. If you bought it, I would guess that you have already decided to put it in the field, so placement is key. I've heard of lots of them being stolen or damaged on another website, but for the most part, it is not a problem. Some people like the guys on quads and hunting out of season might spot them, and try to prevent you from recovering incriminating photos. HAve not lost any myself but like others, I keep them in seldom travelled areas way off the road away from most hikers and hunters. Let us know how those budget cams work! Seems I read a post a while back about them being a bit too sensitive and snapping shots with nothing in the field of view. You might want to burn a roll of film in the back yard taking notes on where you are when it fires before you put it out in the field.

I have lived in the NW valley for several years I have not gone dove hunting in at least 10 years. Not ever hunting dove on the west side of town, and with all the urban sprawl. I wonder if there are any safe, legal places to bird hunt? Any suggestions from Peoria. By the way, I already checked into the new stadium in Glendale, but the only birds around there look pretty sick and not worth the effort.
