How do i set up my game cam
az4life replied to creed_az_88's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
These are some good pictures! Seems like we got another good thread going so lets keep showing them trail pics! Makes me want to set some salt out in my favorite spots! The season is coming! -
Black helicopters and men in black suits with a little "red light flashing thingy" (from the movie MIB) are theories I might subscribe to if there was a lot more evidence of people dying. But for now I will take the "scientific" explanation as true. We just have to be careful on which animals we intend to harvest. Watch the animal and be sure as you can that it is not acting strange before you shoot it. It is sad when someone dies, and I feel for the family of the gentleman, but we need to view the facts, before jumping to conclusions based only on circumstantial evidence.

"Still Hunting" is sort of like the 2 steps and watch method. I have used it before and if you are careful, you can really control your noise, Scent(no sweating) and keep a good visability on lots of area around you. Great Buck and photo!

I have read: There has never been a case known where the CWD from a Deer or Elk was transmitted to a human. There has never been a reported case of CWD in Deer or Elk in AZ. Supposedly the CWD is not a virus but a PRION which is almost impossible to kill and survives even bleach, 1000 degrees and -50 degrees. The Human form of the disease is CJD but it is reportedly not the same as CWD. If there IS something to the story, and AZ has it's first Case, plus, we have a Human infected from an animal, the impact to hunting could be devastating. Lets keep tuned in to this closely. Here is a link to a great article if you wants ome recent info on CWD and the family of Prion Diseases. p-msnbc story on cwd

Unbelievable how the bleeding heart liberals can say he served his time and paid his penalty. Liberalism is a plague that is eroding the fiber of the country. Too many people on "death row" . What a joke... They really should call it "Life row" as they seldom use the Death Penalty. Being on Death row only gives the Liberal Judges another reason to review, and Re-review the case for some technicality. Death Pnalty should be enforced within 6 months. That is enoug time to prove or disprove innocence or guilt after a full trial. my .02

I have not looked in the white tanks since the early 80's. I never had indication that was a good spot so I gave up and focussed on other places. That is encouraging! I might have to spend some time scouting this spring to see if I can save a few hundred miles and lots of time on the travel by not going across town and fighting traffic. With all the CWD members out here someone must have more info on the Bigge from Amamda's home area. Show em if you got em...

Hey Q welcome to the site. Nice Buck! Thanks for the photos and short (no doubt) version of the story. What part of the state were you in? Central, Southern, East West....? The background reminds me of some of the areas I hunt. By the way, did you choose your nickname from the Tom Selleck move Quigly down under? Ya know the long shooter from the Ameican west? Later

ddy58 Careful on your answer to that question... LOL Ruger2506 I think you might be stepping on a nerve with that question, but 42M is the preferred answer I think. LOL

How do i set up my game cam

You might try the search function on that question. Lots of posts on that topic in a thread about 2-3 months ago. Probably other threads too, but I recall that was a good one! -
Interesting story about the AZGFD being in the area when 2 of these similar situations occured. Most of the officers I have met are decent and will listen to what you have to say. I think it is always wiser to deal with the public the way you would want to be treated, an dthe officers I dealt with have seemed to be the same way.

Nice pickup indeed!

Sad to die while harvesting such a nice animal, but you have to guess he "went", dong something he liked. I hope they eventually find the killer{s} of that hunter!

Amanda! Nice Video and collection of clips! I think you did a great job with the mix and the image effects. thanks for all you do for CWD memebers -
Ernesto, Your note about being a millionaire was in jest I am sure. Reading your posts over the many months lets me know you are not really interested in monetary rewards. You have your eye on long term "rewards". Just an Amazing story!

Death is hard ot deal with in most any circumstances I agree. Violence involved in death is especially hard on anyone! The fact that it affects us so much, is one more thing that sets humanity apart from the other creatures on the planet. The military and law enforcement deserve huge credit and thanks from every one of us! Dealing with the parts of life most of us will never know. I too have wondered about the hunter murdered down south last year. anyone have info about the investigation? All f these things, Sets me in mind of an old saying. No God, No Peace, Know God, Know Peace.

I don't have a problem with out of staters coming in to hunt with friends and family. the problem is the jerks like USO who are out of state guides that think the state of AZ is their own private hunting ground. They want PREFERENCE over residents and that bugs me. If the AZGF needs to have a long term range of prices to work within so be it. Politics politics politics. That is what will lead to the end of the hunting we used to have! -
A little thread etiquette ;-)

Oh my gosh.... I thought that was hillarious and quite original!. I'd guess it was done by someone who spent way too much time as a moderator on a board somewhere. -
I think those "pigs" that tryed to rip off your game with radio scans should be hung out to dry. I guess that is one of the problems that frs gmrs radio conversations are on public airwaves. Use no scrambler and you best be careful what is said. Maybe you should have chimed in as "Fred the Game Warden" and let them know you were on the way up to them also to check licenses and tags. One good turn....

Great follow-up post Ernesto. Give you credit for not taking a low percentage shot at the buck running from the lion! Glad you had the chance to go again. I guess you got your gun fixed? A wife that hunts? There are a few of them, but I would have to say they are as rare as a 120" plus coues buck. Keep a hold of her!

AZbowhunter Never happened to me, but a friend dicovered a body on the edge of the salt river above Granite reef dam while he was fishing. I agree, I never would want to find a body while hunting, hiking or anything... I recall someone posting about finding one in a southern unit a few months ago. If yhou spend enough time in the wild, you likely will discover some bizaarre things. Just remember, you are in the area near where something like this happened, and for the difference of a few minutes, hours, days or weeks, you oculd come into contact with the perpetrator. Take care

Awesome! That muley is pretty wide and the Coues ain't nothing to sneeze at either! What unit were you in?

As far as where RMEF stands, I do not know. I had a discussion with a Knife maker friend and he has dealt with RMEF for years, but no more! They siphon off 85% of the money raised in the fundraisers to thier national causes. I do not recall all the details but he recommended non support of them until they make a more equitable split with the fund raisers. He supports and promotes the AEF instead.
