Josh You have proved credibility along with lots of others on the site. If AZGFD had as much credibility, we would not all be questioning something that seems pretty plane to us but not to them. I wonder if the mission statement for the AZGFD reads something like... The AZGFD Here to sell as many Licenses and Tags in AZ as possible, for as long as the game holds out. With ridiculous allocations like we are discussing now It makes you wonder .

I am sorry for her loss, but just because she used to be a celebrity is no reason for her to think her loss is more important that anyone elses. -
So 30a is the sleeper unit huh? May have to toss a chance in the pool on that one. The info earlier posted by Desert Bull was pretty accurate in how the chances work. I usually just hope my application gets run early so my best units have good chances for drawing. Anyone know if the Draw, Success data is updated yet to show 2004?

Alright Chris, Post as you wish, but include some details. Did he survive, how did it happen, when, where. I don't understand Why you would post pictures without information? Sad to say, That looks like the guy did not survive. -
Picacho Peak Elk

I think Arizona guide may have a point. Afterall, every year or so someone discovers an animal alive that was thought to be extinct. We might be able to make a case that the Merriams elk have been hidden away in some dark canyon along the mogollon rim with the "mogollon Monster" (AZ version of Sasquatch) In the case of Merriams elk, I dont think they affected the size favorably, but there could have been a few mixed with the current heard. -
Mexico has been a "Have" and "Have Not" country. Until there is a revolution to toss out the ruling powers, and the wealthy "haves" who pay them off, there will never be any significant change. The mexican standard and accepted norm is for those in power to abuse the "have nots" in pursuit of their own fortunes. It really gripes me for the mexican government to complaint to the US agencies about how we need to care more about and protect the mexicans who are here illegally.

I am not sure about the deer heard in the unit you and wetmule were discussing, but from history, reading both of your posts, I would have to believe you both know more than the AZGFD on the topic.. Follow the money... is the rule and in this case, the money seems to be being drawn in by the vacuous space on the AZGFD board. I agree that more involvement is a good course of action but those who go and choose to speak, should be informed on the subject. Citizens who speak at these things really need to be prepared and have the ability to speak in complete semi-coherent sentences with facts, not rumours. Point me toward the information and give me a nudge, I can help voice opinions and make the case.

Josh The stated objective to increase the hunt opportunity with the same harvest target, sounds good, but there is also a benefit of more cash to the AZGFD. Seems like stretching to fill in the budget. I would also like to think that the dpt is smarte enough to TEST the theory before going off half cocked and potentially devastating the wildlife in a lot of regions. I think they might just be looking at the financial benefit . Food for thought

Interesting. I thought you quit using those Incindiary loads. With the natural barrior of 100 yard plus bare zones around the facilities, as long as the fire was not in one of the buildings, it should be okay. Everyone be careful with the fire danger this year!

I think the question needs some qualifying. If you have scouted the area and know there are bucks in the 110 class, then I would hold out for one of those on opening day. If I know the area well, and the biggest I have seen after sclouting is a 3 point 90 class, I would likely take it. Know your area, and the game potential in it so you can make the best decision. That goes along with standman's point

Not surprising that when SHE has a wildlife problem, SHE wants something done! Loved what the neighbor said about how she should keep track of her own dog and it would not have happened. -
Strange that they forgot it was there, but STRANGER things have happened. anyone hear about the Mexican Military crossign into AZ recently? I heard a teaser on a local radio news report but never go to hear the full story. If that happened, and the Mexicans hold our guys, I think we should hold theirs too! then send them the bill for chasing down the 17 million illegal mexicans here now and send them all back. Hard to do but a fair trade I would say! 17 million for 2.

I don't want to be alarmist, but you have to wonder if we just passed into the twilight zone. Harry Reid sponsors a bill protecting hunters rights, and Maddona is now a self professed hunter. Maybe there is a link between the 2?

We could all take a few lessons from Lamell's Life. No doubt he learned many of the tings that he is remembered for. Live life to it's fullest, and do it well, for the time we have is not guaranteed. Take pleasure and learn from every moment we have. Lark, Thanks for the moment of reflection.

They are there if you click on the logo in the upper left corner of the page for 2005 regs. Then make sure you have a good adobe reader to see them when you click on the 2005 hunting and trapping regulations toward the bottom of the page. New fees of 24.50 tag fee for deer and 83.00 for elk.

I think the minutemen project showed how the whole illegal immigration pattern can be upset and slowed with enough regular vounteers. That said, I wonder how many people would volunteer as "assistants" to the Border Patrol agents if a "volunteer posse" system was implemented. Afterall the Sheriff's office has posse members who volunteer, and many police forces have reserve (volunteer) officers so just think what could be done with regular volunterism with the border patrol? I would certainly volunteer 2 weekends a year glassing the border areas. Would not do it unless I was armed, but I would do it. Anyone else?
