More Food for thought on the CWT Buffet line.... I think a decal that identifies you is another way to keep people honest and straight. I had a friend who had to take the Christian Fish symbol off his car since he felt his rush hour driving was not a proper reflection on a Christian attitude! I thought, Hmmmm. maybe more Christains should have one stuck to their bumper (or forehead) and they might think about their actions before doing something they would regret! WWJD?

Not hard to see the "slant" on that story. Crap is right!

Nice buck, and good story. I am confused about that 1/2 mile shot???? Like Allen said, I too have great respect for anyone who takes an archery Coues. Congrats.

It sounds like the early wet weather helped out the antler growth a lot this year. Maybe that is why the bowhunters from the site have been doing so well with the big ones reported.?
-
That is hillarious. I was expecting someone to get out of the trailer and tell you that you had the wrong one. "what the $#%^ are you doing pulling my trailer" Glad we can laugh at it!

I was up scouting in and around the burn area north of superior on Friday. Got to a wash where I dare not cross in my 2wd truck so we got out and looked around. Saw this track right on the trail next to the washed out creek. Looks like a biggun and it was within a few hours as there was rain overnight! Wished he had shown himself as we had a tag and gun. The burn area seems to be scorched earth in places with strips and patches of green here and there. Some areas lots of folks normally might hunt are "toast" so the pressure will likely be farther northeast and north west of superior. These areas that burnt, may be okay, but just the look of it is amazing. Saw a cuple USFS guys hiking around and taking samples but only one other vehicle who was likely deer hunting. Quail coveys were everywhere! Wow.

I was waiting for someone to ask that.... I believe he was following a Big Buck! LOL

It has been a long time since we have seen dove #s like that! Awesome! -
Sorry if I ruffled your feathers 25-06 but I've never heard anyone get so riled up over being "rained on" by pellets. I think most folks interpret "peppered" to be something like a direct line shot or overspray. Having pellets rain down from an overhead shot is totally different. and WILL happen whenever shotguns are fired in the air. Not knowing the area this took place in, I am only taking the words from the postings and stating an opinion and referenced a similar line post a while back. I would say that bird hunting in deer areas is pretty rare, so overlap of competing seasons probably would not be on my mind either unless I had seen deer in a "dove" hunting area. Your posts sound like those of an ethical hunter. I am not trying to make an argument about this either, just posting some food for thought. Safe Hunting to all.
-
It is unfortunate about getting peppered, but it does happen. I have done it on a rare occasion and received it way more often. Admitting an offense is a good thing too. One of the first rules of hunting safety is to clearly identfy your target and be sure of your bullet path BEFORE pulling the trigger. With birds flying at 40mph that is not always possible. Simply knowing someone else is in the area should make you think twice about each shot. More than 1 shot toward another hunter is cause for concern and re-evaluation of your hunting safety. I recall a thread a while ago that said many of us take friends hunting birds before big game. I guess this emphasizes why! I definitley would not want Terry's friend near my camp with a Gun. Safe Hunting!

It will slow down yes. the gripe I have is the oil companies will reap higher profits from lower volume, with the same cost of raw materials and processing. Oil per barrel has hit 70 bucks, but it was nearly 60 for a lot of last year. That should warrant an increase in at most 15%. the hurrricane has slowed production and the panic is on. that should not warrant 100% increase from a year ago, and 25-30% in a week. They have us all by the tailpipes. Amazing that there is nothing we can do but PAY. Every other item we buy and sell is about to jump in price as a result. Get ready, cause if this stays up very long, the economy will not easily recover.

Bubba's Hurricane Relief
az4life replied to DesertBull's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Seems like they should rebuild far north. The area is a river delta. With all the flood control they have added over the past 150 yrs, the delta cannot rebuild itself, so the land sinks into the ocean. About the rate of 1 football field, every 3 hours. Something like 26 sq miles in a year. Rebuilding where it is, as it is would be STUPID. We cannot hold out the ocean forever, Hurricanes will come in the future, and I am sure "W" will be blamed for those too! I heard Mexico presidente Fox has offered to send help to the area. 2 million Mexicans to help rebuild. ver suited to this task as they do a lot of construction work. These 2 million people will also stay around after the building to do landscape and hospitality work. Heading off to my bunker for a while.... Chuckling -
whooooooeeeeeee. Nice buck and halfway decent pictures too! Now you have a target to beat... do I hear 110"

Ouch! And Wow! That looks like a big lion! Maybe he will be around when you feel up to hunting agian. I will pray for a speedy recovery for you! BTW How was it that Amanda took you to the hospital?

I agree with Daryl_s Oil companies are the ones racking in the money. The station owners are not to blame! Except for very RARE occasions. I am afraid they are the ones who deal with the customer's anger and frustration! Big Oil has us ALL where they want us!
-
This drastic jump to the financial and phsycological $3.00 mark WILL cut consumption. The oil companies will reap HUGE profits as a benefit of staving off shortages. But they are the good guys for helping us... right! I Planned a scouting trip Friday, and a few other things this weekend. Scouting is on for now... but all other stuff is cancelled due to the cost of getting there. It does add up! It is just frightening to think that my $120 monthly gas bill from 3yrs ago turned into $180 2 years ago, to $220 last year and $325+ at todays rates. I do not have a gashog and am only driving the minimum. Something don't add up. Sorry to say our wages do not keep up with this increase let alone other secondary inflation costs past on by every other business. Katrina ignited the currnet situation but considering the time it will take to recover it could mean recession is on the way?

Looks like an attempt at humor, but if the primos calls are as effective as the ad, you better sell your stock in primos now! Pathetic.

Did anyone see or get a bear this
az4life replied to coues7's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Nice bears Indeed, Josh. did you video this hunt? Would be great to see that on your site! -
That is an Awesome deer! Great work!
-
seems like there was a post on this a while back. If I recall, it takes a few months for deer to get used to returning to the salt lick. They may find it quicker but putting it on a regular routine takes a while.
-
Great news. I guess you could think of call your preparation as the major the actual hunt! I cannot say I ever had a 10 minute hunt! But I Hope to some day!

Mike, Looks like you can Add that one to your resume. In that case we all will be winners! -
With all of you archery hunters heading out soon, I would like to offer a trade. I will pray for your safety and success, if you would send me and my family some prayer support in return. I am not usually a guy to wear his heart on his sleeve, but we have had a terrible week so far and it is taking it's toll on us. Our wonderful, beloved 5 year old Jack Russell terrier was severly sick and had to be put down today. "Sport" will be greatly missed! Still in shock over it and my wife is purely devastaed. He was her "baby", such a lap dog and attention hound and smart as a whip! He was the best pet we ever had, or probably ever will. My mother is back in the hospital too, after kidney failure. Still fighting an MSRA (STAPH) infection from a heart bypass last year and she has a littany of other health complications to contend with plus now, kidney failure. I am not anywhere near a "biblical Job", however I know support from family and extended family will help us through these trials. Take me up on the "trade" offer and it will help us all. Thanks for lending an ear.

Great news Dodger2. Keeping a positive outlook REALLY is the best medicine! I guess I should update everyone too! My mother came home also Thursday. She has some serious problems to deal with (infection) but kidneys and heart are doing great now say the Dr.s. My wife and daughter and I are doing better after our loss. My wife had a spell on Saturday where she let it out... I really feel for her as she did love that little guy. We all did. He was just the best! She seems to be doing better but I am sure until we get past this week, it will be touch and go. Keep up those prayers and I will do the same! thanks all!

Wow, you look like you had to be 25 yards or less from him! He better get his hearing checked or he may not make it past this year! thanks for the pics
