I agree, Everyone be carfull! I never thought Arizona or the US would be more hispanic than anglo or that anyone would have to be so worried for thier own safety from Illegal invaders of our country. There is a legal way to immigrate to our country, and these people do not care to do it legal. What makes us think they will follow any other US laws? Sad state of afffairs when the "state" does not use its full resources to protect it's citizens or its borders from invaders. I know that the BP agents are out there every day doing what they can to stem the tide, but it is like trying to stop a flood by standing in the river with 20 of your friends as it approaches. Many Many of the illegals are here just to make a living. But many of them are here to deal drugs, transport human cargo and subvert the US systems. I express the belief that if the borders were CLOSED and all illegals were not allowed in the country Illegally, our problems with crime, poor education, and welfare would be much less. Call me insensitive to their plight if you want, but this country cannot be the savior of every third world country person with no question. Also Call me an American.

Ernesto..... LOL -
I started calling them coues ( coos ) but after a few years I heard the correct pronounciation and started using that. Later that year, I was out hunting with a couple friends and somehow, we had a discussion about seeing several coues (cows) and our communication got mixed up. One person thought we were talking about MOO Cows, and another thought Coues (Cooos) Deer. After straightening out signals, we just started calling them all Cows, but we had to call the Moo cows, "Whitefaced Cows". Thinking about it, we did not want some rancher or AGFD warden upset cause we shot the wrong animal due to miscommunication, so... After that year we just gave up and went back to calling them Coues (Cooos) Deer.

Super mass on that toad. I would like to see some different pictures of it. Still hard to visualize the whole thing. We have to know the rain this year was the magic ingredient.

Interesting how they get some valid info for this. I typed in a few bogus names and got no picture. Put in a few Real names and it "worked" the way it was designed. Lark, I think its a coati too! -
Great story of how technology has helped us hunters. If you pm me with some of the better pics, I will "host and post" them for anyone to see for awhile. thanks again

I wonder if some Coues got interbred with elk. A 5 x 5 is really special. can't wait to see the pics.

Typical AOL quality! The video crap won't play on my pc.

I finally got the great Coues Whitetail decal added to my truck. Great addition. (Thanks Amanda) I will try to get a more suitable photo with some prime Coues country in the background soon! I Live in the Peoria area and work in central Phx, so if you see me out and about, stop and say "HI" From a fellow Coues Whitetail memeber!

Congratulations on the successful hunt! What a picture! How did you get them to pose like that! I agree with the earlier comment about a mirror image. I did a double and triple take on that picture to see if it looked photoshopped. Story Story.... Lets hear it.

Just over a week to go

Okay, I agree with the sentiment... Good Luck! Just make sure you save a few big ones for the December hunters like me! -
I sort of look at it as anything that is not normally found in the area, could be a bad thing. Artificial stuff is just that... Artificial. Just my opinion, but based on what I have seen and heard from others and myself. Myabe you are on to something though? If it works don't knock it.

. I think it is a GREAT idea, especially in the border units. I won't be in the area, but will likely offer the same for my 24b late Dec hunt. I will have the CWT decal on the rear window by then. Maybe tomorrow I cna find the time and put it on.

A Special Happy birthday to you. Hope your day was great!

I am a conservative and as such, a supporter of Bush also. Somewhat reluctant at times as his actions don't always match his political position. Politics I guess. Anyway, I got this in the email today and thought it was worth posting and this thread seemed a good place. Funny, and one of those things that you wish could happen... How President Bush should have said it. (In response to criticism of the Fed Gov handling of the Katrina aftermath) Citizens of the United States, I want to offer my sincerest apologies for the nature of the federal response to the hurricane Katrina disaster. My administration and I have completely failed to predict how stupid and inept the local and state government was in Louisiana. Frankly, I expected a response more along the lines of that from Mississippi, in which the locals were able to support themselves for a few days until we brought in the cavalry. However, it is clear that the state and local government leaders in Louisiana are incapable of such self reliance and emergency planning. So, as Harry Truman said, the buck stops here and I take complete responsibility for failing to recognize that we were dealing with idiots in Louisiana, people who cannot manage their own state. I am embarrassed to admit this, because after all, a simple review of the state's history and position should be more than enough to demonstrate that these people are absolute morons that need to be completely supported from day one. Sometimes I am not very good at seeing the obvious. I should have predicted that the local government would release the criminals being held in prison into the general population instead of evacuating them. Likewise, I failed to predict that Louisiana citizens would begin shooting at and attacking the very people who were trying to help them. Along a similar vein, I should have recognized that we would need to move the people along with the widescreen televisions, clothes and other items they had stolen from local stores. Many people were heard screaming "I just stole this and now you want me to leave it behind!" I frankly cannot believe that I failed to predict such activity in and around New Orleans. Also, I should have recognized that the federal plan would be too complicated for Governor Blanco. My failure to "dumb down" the proposal, my failure to recognize my audience, likely resulted in the loss of hundreds of lives. The extra 24 hours she needed to understand the plan was critical, I should have predicted that she was too stupid to be able to make an executive decision in short order. (said tearfully) Had I only offered a more simple minded plan, more people would have survived. Likewise, I want to apologize for buckling under pressure from democrats to limit what they called pork barrel spending. When Senator Kennedy publicly criticized my spending bill, asking me to reduce the federal spending on local projects in New Orleans, I caved in and reduced expenditures on the levee system that would have strengthened it to a point of being able to withstand the forces of a category four storm. I will never know if my spineless response to Senator Kennedy's harassment was instrumental in the failure of the levee system. However, I can assure the American people that I have learned a valuable lesson. I will no longer allow the ineptness of local and state governments to circle around and cause hardship for the local citizenry. I will step in sooner to save them from their stupidity. I am frankly accustomed to being in a room with people who are smarter than me. I have little experience working with people who are even less intelligent than I am. All I can hope is that the American people forgive me my shortcomings, and God Bless America. George Bush If only he could say it.... -
Back from our goat hunt...
az4life replied to Kilimanjaro's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
I must say, you got a great spot for goats. It Looks like they don't come any smaller than about 80"! Bill Quimby was dead on...Again. Thinking about it, I have not seen antelope like that in Wyoming either. I have seen some wierd ones there, but the ones you got just seem to reach to the sky. They look like some african hybrid oryx.(sp) Here is a pic of a goat my brother in law got a year ago in WY. See the similarities... NOT Great Scott, Great Goats -
Another well written posted prayer. And all the good people of CWT said AMEN

The eidtor should figure out an angle to give PETA some free publicity. Ya know, about the PETA staff that kept killing and dumping dead dogs and cats in the shopping center dumpster. PETA needs to review it own ethical treatment for animals! Maybe we could hook up PETA and that Tapia woman. Keep them all in the same rubber room. All of them are 3/4 of a bubble off in my book.

az4life replied to Red Rabbit's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Great Pictures! Gotta get my fat backside out and hike or I will be wishing I had in a couple months.! (Late Hunt) Good incentive to see the colors. -
Congratulations on your trophy Rich. That is a fine looking bull and taken with a bow, I know I would be a lot less humble than you are! Go ahead! Take a bow! You deserve it!
-
Bill I would be mad too. That jerk is a waste for good oxygen. Idiots like that make it bad for all us ethical hunters. I would love to have that bozo in a room for a few minutes. Give him a taste of AZ hunter justice abu-graib style.

Well Casey, You can always hope for a REAL COLD hunt, and make sure the heater in the tent does not work. That might help let her know how much of a big hunk of a man you are. Just make sure you don't blow the covers off with after effects of a good burrito dinner (otherwise known as a Arkansas Heater) Course if she is from Alaska, maybe she knows how to stay warm using her own heater.

Wouldn't you like her for your neighbor? She is a 100% certifiable nutball. A Bad thing about that is she will probably be put up in the state hospital at our expense and then set free after she gets a clean bill of health in a few months. Then it starts all over again!
