Say goodbye to Dec. coues hunts.

300wsm Well Said! Sometimes we cannot see the forest through the trees, and AGFD needs to stop this terrible plan, step back and analyze the info, with their mission again. Otherwise AZ may have no game for them to manage.

Say goodbye to Dec. coues hunts.

Dave might be on to the "increased opportunity" the AGFD is referring to. Shorter deer seasons might shift the hunters and anglers toward A new hunt season for the elusive "Round dimpled bogey bird". Pretty difficult quarry for sure. I have hunted these things all over valleys and hills, lakes and riverbeds, desert and forests but I never seem to come out the winner. Those suckers tease you with near misses all day long, and after shooting for them more times than Casey, you finally hit a good one you cannot find it! There is always 1 shot that seems to bring you back another time. but a miss of 1 inch costs just as much as a miss by a mile. This is one species of "Game" that the Politicians know inside and out!

    i figured it out!

I suggest you use try this... The story is that you were giving warning shots, before you dropped him. ( That one worked for my father-in-law! Is it true they closed the area you were hunting in Casey. Something about hazardous waste cleanup. LEAD! I think we all know, Buck fever is a terrible thing!
  11. Oh my gosh! I cannot believe her lack of experience and qualifications. Talk about Weak, and she even screwed up the wording of her qualifications page terribly inadequate for someone who was a "detail oriented" freelace writer.. She wrote: "I have proven my ability to maintain quality in fast paced environment, operate as a self starter, and build motivation confidence in those around me". Really the whole paragraph is poorly written, but this gives an example "I have proven my ability to maintain quality in a fast paced environment, operate as a self starter, and build motivation and confidence in those around me". This has got to be a back room deal of some sort. Based on the things written on our threads, We have members here that are infinitely more qualified. If she is the most qualified candidate, I will eat my hat. Amanda, thanks for posting this for all to see!

    Super Big Game Raffle

I noted how they promote this as more "opportunity" for hunters too. With that logic, the lottery is also a great opportunity for us to get rich! Yeah, Right..

Say goodbye to Dec. coues hunts.

I believe many of us caught the obvious rubber stamp recommendations supposedly from the WMs used to craft the new permit proposals. This stinks so bad you can smell it 5 miles away, upwind. I think the writing is on the walls. the AGFD HAS made up their plan and the 5-10% of serious hunters will suffer so the dept can make more money. I have sent my letters and feel they met the round file immediately after opening. I have attended meetings in the past and the apathy that is presented by many of the commisioners is appalling. Sure, Joe A Hunter is not accustomed to public speaking and cna be boring when 9 out of 10 complain about the same thing, but thye should at least listen. Maybe groups like ADA might have some impact but I cannot believe the department is interested in increasing opportunity. They won't do anything to reduce depredation from lions. They only want more revenue. This so called plan will serve to discourage the real hunters, and put more hunter wannabe's in the field. Scarey proposition! AGFD has lost site of their mission and it may be impossible to get it back. There are a Few Western Minded states left, and they are looking better all the time. AGFD take note, You are not fooling anyone here!
  14. I think it is strange how so many of us thought she sounded like a "tree hugger" after reading the press release. Did not find much on her in my research so I will have to go with my first inclination and that of the ADA board. Smells like a political quid pro quo... Heck Janet would never do that.... would he?
  15. Well It looks like I have to spend a bunch of time re-loading.... not shells but my Laptop. It crashed somehow and I lost a ton of stuff. Do yourselves a favor and get a backup program. I already spent 4 hours getting it to boot up so another 4 hours at least to re-load all my programs and set the layout the way I like it seems inevitable. If only I had backed it up withiin the last month, the process would be a lot easier! I think I would rather be in a treestand and not seeing game! Back to the grindstone...
  16. Maybe Josh's dogs chased him up there and he decided to commit suicide rather than face em.

    game and fish changes

Yup, it sucks when we get people running the AGFD who care more about funding for projects than the reason FOR the department. I think the writing is on the walls. Rumor the department has all the unit managers "goose stepping" to the same tune. Independent thinking is not allowed unless it is in line with the goals to raise more money. It is gonna be easier to draw a bighorn sheep tag than a Dec Coues tag after they make it final.

    Wyoming

Curious.... seems that antelope are everywhere in wyoming, (like Rats in NY city) and I do not see a reason for bonus points on them. There are Deer, Elk, and Moose in the state and Moose seems about the only one that points would be needed. I for one am seriously considering these with the new AZ regs and fees.

  22. Just keep working the hunting tools and the PC is secondary
  23. Not too far from your sighting. 83rd ave and T-bird gets you in the neighborhood. How about you? Are you from this end of town or just passin through? I ran into another member while hunting in 24b in Dec. but yours is the only other one I have seen on the road. Must admit, it was cool to see another sticker on truck on the road! I think I know what Amanda meant when she said it was neat to think she might see one on another vehcle besides hers.
  24. AZhuntnut, I think you were driving a big lifted Silver 4x4? I saw yours as I went by and blew the horn. (not because of your rainbow sticker though ) First one I have seen while driving around town. I posted that siting in another thread back on the day it happened.cwt thread
