Pilgrim, I do not quite understand the contest.... You wrote... Why penalize a good shot? Placement in an area the size of vitals is the goal isn't it? I would say there are some folks who are VERY capable of shooting long ranges, but cannot recall anyone on this site bragging about such a shot. Most people here will even express that they would not take a shot unless they have practiced and were proficient at the range required. Furthermore, most people here spot the deer at long distances, but then make every effort to stalk in and find the best spot with the closest range to take the shot. I believe a person should take any shot they are capable of and pass on the shots that are unrealistic, or untested. Maybe you are referring to the chatter on another site? I thought it sounded about like CHD also....

I saw the same article. I must say, I am skeptical of it's truthfulness. The article alleges many Mexican police and government officials as corrupt, and the author alleges that Mexico may be using double standards since some of them abuse and rob illegal migrants. The way the Illegal Mexicans in the US and the mexican government officials complain about the fact that in the US, after they clear the border they are put to work, paid with money,they but pay no employment taxes and are ignored by the police and immigration, given free medical care and since they are "impoverished" they get state food assistance, plus tney get free schooling for their illegal children far better than in their own country. (Did you know that 1 in every 10 mexicans borni in mexico are today illegally living in the US) See what I mean... I just cannot believe Mexico would be so uncivilizd and abusive to people in thier country illegally.

migolito For every Out of state hunter who might be refused a tag, you can count 2 AZ hunters who would be in line waiting to fill them. I see no reason to force Arizonans to give more than 10% of our tags to anyone not a resident. Some NR's apply here because it is easier than getting a tag and then finding a place to hunt in their own state where some tree huggin, spotted owl kissin liberal will give you greif for chasing bambi. (Sound familiar) Sure every political hack knows how to raise money by increasding fees. Single out the ones who can afford it and if there is not enough money raised through managed NR tags, then more money will be pulled from residents in overall fee increases and premiums added whenever they can. I do not have a problem with LEGAL immigrants, nor are you likely to find many US citizens who do. The fact is there are way to many illegals in the US and thye are the cause of the problems. Everyone has heard the government estimate of 12 million illegal aliens here right now. Many people believe that number is actually as high as 20 million, but lets stay with the 12 million estimate and do some quick math.... These Government statistics are from 7-2006. CIA - World Population 298,000,000 US population 107,000,000 Mexico population 12,000,000 is the estimated number of illegal aliens are currently in the US The estimate of OTM (Other Than Mexican) illegals in the US is less than 1 million. 11,000,000 Mexican national citizens are illegally in the US. Based on the above government statistics; An estimated 4% of the people in the United States are here illegally. In simple terms, Nearly 1 in 20 people are illegally in the US. 10.2% of the Mexican population is living Illegally in the US right now. 1 of every 10 people born in Mexico is Living Illegally in the US. Quite shocking isn't it! This is more evidence that LEGAL immigration is not the problem. I could support a guest worker program, or an increase in the legal visas granted to those wishing to come to the US, But only if we enforce our current laws. Our country was built on the rule of law. Allowing illegal immigrants to mandate new laws just because there are millions of them is just wrong, on so many levels. If we cannot enforce current laws, why would anyone think we can enforce new ones. Do not take my word for it. Google it and find your own proof. Well as a proud, yet frustrated American, I can seeThis topic is RED HOT and is not going to cool off with weak kneed self serving legislators re-writing the immigration rulebook pandering for votes. These fools should consider that many of the hunters they interfere with could be on prime hunts. They migh be pretty P O'd (justifiably so) after applying for years and using all the bonus points to get in position and have some liberal "anti" screw up their efforts and planning. I would be inclined to forgive a such hunter if they extracted a few pounds of flesh from the interferors.
