Oh Paleesee.... Cabela's has the selection and customer service second to no one. I wander around in sportsmans warehouse for 90 minutes every time I went there, and NO ONE ever asked to help me. They were good but never more thatn that. Their selection is okay but lateley they seem to be selling a lot of wierd stuff, Mfr overruns and factory seconds. Sure that'll bring me back. NOT ! Cabela's has the best warranty of any retailer out there and very competitive prices. I am not gonna worry about a few pennies when I am out for a big buck. In a few words, Cabela's... Sure, you might ask for better, but you'd never get it.! IMHO

Was over there on Wednesday, and heading back tomorrow with a friend. Not surprising they ar being cleaned out. Have no fear, I am sure they will get more goodies soon. Bought a "claw" rifle sling for better grip on the shoulder, and a few other little things. Hmmm that reminds me I need to install that sucker! See you out there tomorrow!

The Ballistics for the newer Light Magnum rounds are actually quite impressive. Look into one of these if you have to plan to shoot farther than 300.

Whatever distance you decide is YOUR max, be sure that you have practiced and are confident with it. Just cuz a few of us say we would take a shot at 250 and another few may say 500, it means nothing. Weather conditions, terrain, elevation and access to a suitable gun rest time of day, day of hunt, size of Bull, all will affect Your suitable maximum. I know we have a few "Quigleys" on the board but I aint one of em. All things being perfect, my # would be 350-400 max but I would always try to get closer. Jus My .02 worth

Well I believe this years draw has been the most controversial ever. Way more mistakes and inconsistencies have been reported than I can ever recall. Petitions might help but A LOT of people have to speak up and sign on. I agree that requesting the draw go to all mail in is a good plan but probably won't happen since it is lots easier to process aps if they don't have to key everything. I also heard that the new legal team for AGFD (Dewey Takem & Howe) has weighed in and is recommending more online processes so there is no paper trail. Lets them spend more time on the golf course. It also Saves money for the AGFD to buy new trucks every year and fund crucial studies like how many salamanders are left in a mudhole when it dries up.

Well I was there for about 2 1/2 hours today. I must say, aside from the controversy being raised on a couple other threads here, it was pretty nicely done! LOTS OF PEOPLE! And All of us was VIPs... Thank You Cabela's for coming to the area! We have needed a quality store with your reputation for quality products and superior customer service here in the valley for a LONG TIME. The bar has just been raised! I thought the selection was great compared to other stores we have and where else can you see so many really nice mounts in one place? others, try but they don't hold a candle to Cabela's. I Left with my wallet mostly intact, cause I just bought a few small "cannotlivewithout" items. I figured with no tag this year, no point in gettin too many new things since they will be old things before I can use them. I did note that Cabela's displayed logos of many AZ sportsmans organizations above the registers as you left the store. I like the fact that they come to the area and recognize and appreciate the various organizations like the ADA. Did not see a CWT logo though... Well it will be at least a month fore I head back. Crowds are supposed to be huge this weekend (and several weeks to come) so the state is closing the loop 101 from camelback to northern Fri - Sat ) is what I heard. Anyone heading over there might need to park at the Cardinals stadium and walk the 1/4 mile or so. Good Luck to those of you who go. Enjoy the show! I did.

Unfortunately.... My Job installed some filtering software that now prevents me from checking the site. Lunchtime is just not the same! I have to wait until evenings to check in now! I have noted that anything to do with Guns or Hunting, Conservative Politics, Career or Jobs, is blocked. Interesting that I CAN see several leftwing liberal sites though. Hmmmm CWT is now at 33 on the top hunting sites too!

I was wondering about the thread hit count too! The one with 12,000 hits in a week is amazing! Last year on 7/19 the results were in and the site had 1500 hits in 7 hours. It looks like that one is ancient history! Way to GROW the site!

Good news for all you not so "special" people (like me) out there that want to go to the 26th opening day and did not get the Cabela's invitation. I have it on good authority, If you show up at the front doors on the 26th, there will be a table set up and you can fill out an application for the Cabela's card at the door and then gain "special" status and an on the spot "invitation". Guess that I need to make room for 1 more card in the wallet, but that should be easy since the cash will be all gone after the Cabela's visit. The Sydney store has changed a bit from the last time I was there, and is being remodeled right now, so the comparison will no doubt favor the new Glendale store. All I can say is, OPEN OPEN OPEN....

The 28th of July? I know I know, I do feel a bit like the red headed stepchild since some others got "Special Invitations" but I know now why I SHOULD have taken out another credit card when I got the Cabela's offer. Anyone want to take me along with them as a special invitation guest? I just Cannot wait to get in our local Cabela's. I guess I will have the Syndney store fresh in my mind to compare with. 2 Cabela's stores in 2 weeks! Wow!
