    Someone took my tree stand

Talk abouit Kahrma. I would say you had a very successful hunting day.
  3. I just don't want EVERYONE to move to Wyoming until I have had a chance to take some game of my own! Tell you what, I will scout it out for you and let you know when it is safe to head this way...

    Better Lucky than Good

Wow... The only buck you saw in 5 days? I guess it was beginners luck or some other Idahoan Voodoo. Congratulations on a super hunt!

    New Forum??

I think there is value in an "everything else" section.
  6. Everything changes, so I am told! That being said, I have been sort of a stable fellow for a long time... (some might call it boring) Well anyway the time has finally come for me to step out on faith and make a big change. Before the end of September, Arizona will be only memories in my heart and mind. I will be moving my family to Wyoming. I plan to build my own home before looking for some new line of work. Twill be strange not having a job as I have never been unemployed in my adult life. Leaving my current job of 25+ years is difficult but certainly essential to these faith plans. Arizona has changed dramaticaly in too many ways to list during the last 20 years and somewhere olong the way, she changed so much that she just doesn't seem to fit in easily with western ways. I know I won't find the bygone days of Arizona in Wyoming, but maybe I will find something even better. Seek and ye shall find.... We have designed and drawn up our own home plans and will be doing nearly all the construction work on our own. Things will be pretty busy for a while but after we get settled and I state residency, I hope to have lots of time to do some serious hunting. The Hunting in Wyoming will certainly make the change easier and have rewards of it's own besides the slower pace and country life with smaller population density. The town where we will build and live in is home to a Christian Bible college and it seems to be a great place to live and raise a family, clean air, quiet times and you really know what the word neighbor is all about. I joined the forum shortly after Amanda began CWT. During that time, I have marveled at the wide array of topics and information and the quality of people drawn to the site. The forum has grown greatly and has been full of Posts that are often educational, insightful, inspiring, infuriating and humorous. Great Stuff, aint it! I will still be able to be linked to you all in cyberspace, although not a lot of time to post for a while during construction. Thanks to everyone for the memories. Here's hoping you all get those 130" Coues bucks with your next tag. Please, keep me and my family in your prayers as I will yours. Peace, Out Marlon (AZ4life)

    My first Coues buck!!

Nice story and first coues buck. Somebut, one else mentioned this in another thread but I too have noticed that smiles aren't too common in these succes pictures. I guess a lot of folks drink that "hate-or-ade" that Ernesto mentioned. Everyone should switch to powerade...
  8. Seeing the light at the end of the tunnel now so, I thought I would update you on my progress in my "change" of moving to Wyoming. Staying in touch with the happenings on the forum has been tough, but do-able, since house building has kept me busy. As a lifelong AZ resident and long time member of the CWT forum, there are some things I miss after my move but I am looking forward to what will come after my house is "finished". Progress has been good and we are hoping to be able to move in to our new home in a few weeks. I have nearly finished the drywall work with texturing and painting left to do I plan to begin the cabinets and tile flooring next week after interior painting. It gets cold here, but I believe we have built a very well insulated home and the proof is in the last few weeks. We have been able to keep the 1950 SF 3br 2.5bath interior at high 50's to 60's degrees with only 3 small portable heaters (total 3700 watts) Even with outdoor temps in the single digits some nights and usually in the 20's! To start the project, I worked with a 70yr old concrete contractor (just the 2 of us) for about a month to get the dirt work, plumbing and slab in place trading my labor for reduced price, and I have had 2 other main workers helping me since we began building by putting up the walls on Nov 15th. To help control the labor costs, I have been deeply involved and participated in every stage of the work. I gained a lot of respect for roofers, Sheetrock hangers, mudders, concrete workers, plumbers, electricians, framers, General contractors, (and probably a few others I left out) by doing every job myself! We designed everything major about the house ourselves and it has been a from the layout on paper and drawing up the CAD plans to choosing and buying the materials used, we have done it all, and it feels pretty good ! Being Totally finished is gonna be a ways off but move in ready was my goal. All in all, This has been a challenging and rewarding project and I would certainly do it all over again if I had the chance. This year I hope to spend a lot of time scouting for game as I should have resident status by the time hunting season rolls around. I can find deer and antelope within a mile of my home and elk within an hour so this should be a fun year! Maybe even a moose tag next year about 4 hours away! I feel like I'm in the home stretch now and am looking forward to the next phase of changes. A New Job? Yup, that is coming too! Who knows what it will be but whatever it is, I am up for the challenge! I have attached a picture of the house front from a few weeks ago for reference. Thanks to those of you who helped me with advice and encouragement for my questions .
  9. LOL Nice tagline though..."Ride Boldly ride...." I have to wonder though, if you are admitting to lying in your post, if you might be lying about lying??? Some stuff is believable, but it is hard to believe anyone on this site would admit to knowing Richard Simmons

    Its Official!

Well a belated congratulations to you also Arizona Guide. I wonder how many hours a year we all spend on the site? Forget I asked cause we probably would not like the answer....
  11. I find it quite interesting that the story says that our military were overrun, then the mexicans retreated back across the border. I agree, it sounds like a diversion tactic for drug runners or other smugglers.

    Pentax Gameseeker 6x42 Riflescope

Great idea. I think a lot of us Would not mind adding a deposit either or maybe even creating a list of test items wanted? I would be willing to test items against the other equipment that I currently have and others I have had in the past on the range but holding out for a hunt would be pretty unrealistic for me at least.
