Here is the "help" page for shooter if you haven't seen it.... http://www.shooterapp.net/manual.php The others have covered scope height so that should get you squared away. Shooter has a "velocity calibration" feature that makes it easy. Build your profle and input a velocity from a chronograph or close guess. Pick a couple distances to shoot (I start with 300, 500 & 700). Get your solutions from Shooter and shoot what it tells you. Make the elevation corrections to hit point of aim and write your corrections down. After you have your corrections, go to the velocity calibrator and input your data. It will show your "corrected velocity" and give you the option to use the correction. When you put in your elevation corrections, use total MOA. If it tells you 8.5 minutes @ 500 but you corrected to 8.75 to hit point of aim, put 8.75 in the calibrator.

I would strongly suggest he stay away from IOR's. A Google search will prove that they have less than stellar reliability and terrible resale value because of it.

My two favorite hunting shows....Pigman and Meat Eater. I like the episodes that are dedicated to cooking....especially the breakfast one. I learned a bitchin new way to skin a squirrel from Steve's show.

Is this just a target rifle or will you hunt with it? The Steiner is first focal plane and the NXS is second focal plane. Do you have a preference to which you would rather have? I would lean twords a FFP scope so you can use the reticle through the entire mag range. Have you looked a the Burris XTRII's?

The Hornaday comparator? They make inserts for measuring off the ogive. Here is a link for a .308 insert. http://ads.midwayusa.com/product/724733/hornady-lock-n-load-bullet-comparator-insert-308-diameter

Yeah, I was hoping it would get better since they set a roll off dumpster out there but people seem to be just as lazy as they are stipid. Plus, the last dumpster I saw was riddled with bullet holes.....morons. Hit me up if you want to shoot sometime. Queen valley is just down th 60 from me.

Hopefully the guy with the 20" plate isn't the same a$$hole that hung multiple targets off pipe that had been beaten through saguaro cactus. I found quite a few like that out by Queen Valley.

Nice shooting.

^^^^^ Are you measuring from the base to the meplat or base to ogive? Bullets can fluctuate in length based on the tip. From my experience, hollow points are the worst. You will easily see those kind of fluctuations based on the difference of meplat shape from bullet to bullet. I just measured five 140gn 6.5mm Sierra Matchkings from base to meplat and they were.... 1.314" 1.301" 1.310" 1.306" 1.312" Difference of 0.013". Five Hornady 105gn Amax's were much closer with 0.002" as the biggest spread.

Standard T3 22-250 with 38 rounds through it. I bought it in July at the Mesa Sportsmans on a whim and used it to wack a few prairie dogs. I really like this rifle but the muzzle diameter wont provide enough shoulder for my suppressor and I don't want to cut it back. I just ordered a T3 varmint in 22-250 to use with my suppressor so this one has to go. It shoots like a Tikka should and really likes the 50gn Superformance ammo I picked up. I paid 499.99 + tax for it in July and took it out twice. It is "as new" with everything that came with it. Asking $425.00 scope and rings not included.

I love my Defiance action and don't think you would be disappointed with one if you went that route. However, if the Bighorn T3 would have been available at that time I would have gone with it instead. The T3 gives you more features and options for about the same price as a Deviant. This video explains it. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSM3CYOcGgI

I haven't been shooting as much as I want lately so I went out yesterday to hit 1000 yards. A buddy brought a friend that wanted to try her hand at it and shows up with an 18" 223. The wind was terrible and blowing from 5 to 14 mph and switching directions frequently. After some inconsistent hits at 937 yards the wind died down and she was able to go 5 for 5 on the 1010 yard target. They ran down range to repaint the targets and I pulled out the Creedmoor. I got my dope from Shooter and started at the 937 yard target. I dialed 23.75 minutes and sent one.....high, like a minute and a half....weird. I send another one, same spot....at least im consistent. I dial down and hit....send some more and stopped cause of the mirage from the suppressor. While the gun was cooling I check things out in Shooter and see I was using the profile for my old 260 Remington.....dummy. I changed profiles and it tells me 22.25 minutes, exactly what I dialed down to. I then moved to the 1010 yard target and sent one.....hit, followed up as fast as I could and shot a decent group but pulled one of course like I always do. I dialed back down and hit a bottle I set at the 937 yard target. It was hot so we called it and packed up.

Yeah, her boyfriend got her into shooting 3 gun a while ago and she can probably out shoot a lot of people. She actually has a couple sponsors and just picked up Voodoo Tactical.

Exactly. They pulled the "evil" rifles after Sandy Hook and tried to make a moral stand. But when idiots were paying $2000+ for $600 AR's they quietly made their way back on the shelves. Their line in the sand was washed away by the flood of cash. Dick's and Cheaper Than Dirt are at the top of my douche bag retailer list.....with Bass Pro and Cabelas trailing slightly.

Where do you buy guide feed?

I bet it took some kind of impact. Burris should take care of it.

I was torn between a Veracity and a LRS for my 22-250. I went with the LRS because I liked the G2 reticle better. Im still thinking about putting a Veracity on my 223 SBR though.....the current Burris scope sitting on it has been beat up but still holds zero. Also curious of the rings/ mount it was in?

Glad you got it figured out. What was the make and model of the original scope?

Reloading can be a pain and rifles can be finicky.....put those together and it can get pretty frustrating. However, when you find "THE" load it all seems worth it. I would try Retumbo or H1000 like others have mentioned. While the 4350's have worked for some in magnum chamberings, the slower powders like Retumbo and H1000 have a better track record and work better for heavier bullets. Also, a rifle that kicks the crap out of you can be hard to shoot consistently. A muzzle brake is well worth the investment, or push out your shooting sessions when you feel fatigued.
