I was recently at Sportsmans Warehouse and struck up a conversation with a fellow sportsman. I mentioned that this is a great hunting site and very informative. Many years ago I had the pleasure of meeting one of the best hunters in Az and a past B&C scorer, Robin Bechtel. When we began talking about Coues deer he informed me that the correct pronunciation was " cows ", after Dr. Elliot Coues who first came accross them. I looked this up and he was indeed correct. Since then I always refer to them as such, " cows deer " , spelled " Coues ". Anyway, when I pronounced them as cows deer to the guy at sportsmans warehouse he sort of became irate with me and informed me that they are "Coose " deer. If in the future I speak with any members in person, I apologize now, if my pronunciation of " cows " is incorrect.

Well POB, I dont claim to be a "know it all" and as for a "jackass" you might want to keep your insults to yourself. Is that what this site is for? Really !

Anyone see the story of the French tourist that baited a squirrel at the Grand Canyon and then kicked it over the edge? I would have liked to seen that so I could do the same to him! Hope they find that rat b#@tard.

Just a thought.......

Grand Canyon National Park. All critters are protected, even sheds cannot be taken. Not a spider or mouse in your kitchen. I guess that following the law doesnt apply to us all. If you draw a unit 9 Bull tag is it OK to shoot a Bull in the park ? Killing for fun is really not funny to me, sorry to all those who think its comical.

This squirrel is protected in our national park. Maybe Greyghost, if it was a nice bull elk or coues deer you wouldnt think it so funny. Guess people throwing cats in dumpsters makes you laugh also.

Stan, I am speechless. Congrats to Mady !

A good friend of mine has taken a few great Toms through the years on tne east side in Kanes Canyon. It is off the Lower House Rock Rd up behind Kanes Ranch.

I believe that the heard is no longer down at the ranch. Hunting by the Park is your best bet. Might want to talk to Todd Buck at AZGFD. Good luck on your hunt.

Think from now on I will just call them the " Gray Ghost " Im goofy looking enough as it is.

What did the snail say when he jumped on the turtles back ?..................... weeeeeeeeeeee. Just tryin to lighten the mood. LOL

I think that every hunter on any given hunt should always have a lion tag.
-
I just didnt want to offend anyone by my pronunciation, sorry to azgutpile.

Gave some info last year to a guy for this hunt. There will be plenty of does around the Little Mountain range and Pine Hollow. Also below little Mountain lower where the 423 / 235 road meet. Thats where they harvested their doe. It is more open country than up high. Hope this helps.

Great Buck ! Persistance payed off. Alot of hunters wouldnt have got out and tracked him down. Good job.
-
Great Bull ! Most Elk Hunters throughout the west never even have the chance to harvest a 350 class Bull. Difference between a 350 and 400 bull can be only 3 inches per point with slightly larger mass. Good Job !

Was it also scored by B&C ? The father daughter experience is what scores the most !
