The Buck I Never Dreamed Of
CouesHunterAZ replied to tsquare602's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
When I read the title I thought it was going to be something small, and now I am absolutely stunned . Congrats!! -
A good friend of mine just showed me this video, and it amazed me that someone was able to do this. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=584974631550625&set=vb.100001142791961&type=2&theater I do not own this video at all, I just thought that it was really unique, and was worth sharing. I'm also wondering what your guys most unique stalks have been while hunting. The only weird stalk that I have encountered so far was two years ago archery hunting my brother spotted a group of deer around 800 yards away and I decided to go after a 2x1 mulie in the group. This is where everything went wrong as one of our radios was dead so we decided to communicate via cellphone. Halfway on my venture I had to take a quick bathroom break to try to calm myself down, and when I went to latch my belt through the hole I pulled so hard on my belt that it snapped in half. So here I am crawling at this group of deer holding my pants up in one hand, and holding my bow, and cell phone in the other. I ended up taking my first archery shot ever at the buck at 55 yards with my pants down at my ankles, and I missed just low. My brother still brings this story up and laughs as he watched the whole thing happen through the spotting scope. Needless to say, this was the point in which I fell in love with archery hunting.

Has Anyone Deer Hunted Mount Lemmon Before?
CouesHunterAZ posted a topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
I have heard a lot about people hunting the backside of Mount. Lemmon, but I was wondering more about any areas driving up Mount Lemmon on the main road. Every single time I drive up to Summerhaven I always see deer, so I'm assuming it wouldn't be the worst arae to go, I just wanted a little reassurance I guess. Any help would be appreciated, thanks. -
After going through around 40 pages of shed hunting posts, I have finally managed to get a free weekend together to head up North and try to shed hunt. I have only been on two elk hunts which were both when I was younger, and was just posting to see if anyone had any helpful advice on where to go, or what to look for while shed hunting. I am a novice shed hunter all around, as I have only found three deer sheds, but I mainly want to be able to get out in the woods for a weekend and get out of the dirty T. I don't mean to step on any ones toes, or try to find out "secret" areas, but if anyone has any suggestions on where to go I would love to hear them, I have an old Yukon that can barely off road, which plays a large factor on where I'm able to travel. Anyways, if anyone has any advice at all I would love to hear it!

Has Anyone Deer Hunted Mount Lemmon Before?

Honestly I understand where Couesbaiter is coming from, and it is true I have not helped anyone on this site yet, which I am not proud of, as I have asked for help numerous times now. Thanks for all the advice members, and I also recall this being a highly reputable site in which people may express their opinions, and I feel that Couesbaiter expressed his in a respectful way and should not receive grief for it. Again thanks everyone, and happy hunting! -

Has Anyone Deer Hunted Mount Lemmon Before?

Thanks for all the advice guys, I have been hunting all around Mt. Lemmon from Redington, into the Catalinas, to Peppersauce, and I just thought it was funny that I never hunted the huge mountain in the middle of it all. -
First Time Elk Shed Hunting, Need Help
CouesHunterAZ replied to CouesHunterAZ's topic in Shed Hunting
Two months after my original date and I finally was able to go on this trip. After two days of hard hiking with some good friends I still do not have an antler in my hands.. I just wanted to thank all of you for the advice you gave me, and wanted to ask for advice again. Even with not finding any antlers it was still an all around great trip to finally get out of Tucson, and to be in the outdoors again. I just wanted to ask if I was in a wrong area for shed hunting or if another factor played a role in us not finding any. Like all of you said it depends on tracking the elk whereabouts in the time of spring, but due to this being my first trip out of Tucson in awhile, I had no idea where the elk were. I tried to follow hornhunter's directions and go where the pines/junipers were transitioning from one another. We ended up camping just north of Stoneman lake and hiked west trekking from the pines into junipers, I also tried to find routes that were as much distanced from the roads as possible. We found 9 elk skeletons, some which looked quartered, all of them being quite old, and we were always in some good elk sign. Anyways, I was just wondering if next time we should try another area completely, or if we just missed some/they were already picked up in this area. Again, thanks for all of the advice that some of you members gave me, and if anyone has this area for deer we saw a nice 3x3, and what looked like a 4x4 that was already quite tall in some deep woods there, they got my heart pumping for archery season! -
My brother and I picked up this tag as well. This is our first time hunting this area and have only heard negative things about it so far. We are going out scouting tomorrow and will be for the next 3 months, if we find some good areas I will PM with info if wanted.

When I can only work out for less than 40 minutes in a day, I will get two buddies and do a three way rotation of treadmill, burpees, and switching jump lunges. Each person starts on one of the exercises and we rotate as soon as the individual doing burpees finishes 5 repititions. I will do 4 sets of 10 minutes each, and take 1-2 minute breaks in between each set. Usually the treadmill will be on 8-10 MPH, and a person may do the switching jump lunges with weights. I have done this workout alone as well, as 5 burpees usually takes around a minute. This is a great workout for the core, cardio, and I have seen a great increase in my balance, it is absolutely exhausting though.

Selling this 2010 left handed bear archery charge for $320 OBO. It is a 50-60 pound bow, so it is great for a starting hunter, or a person who shoots at lower weight. This was a fantastic bow for me and is in great condition, the only reason I'm selling it is because I outgrew the max draw length of 30 inches. It has a 5 pin sight, Trophy Ridge quiver, stabilizer, and whisker biscuit attached to it right now. To contact me just PM me or you can reach me at 520-471-7892. Thanks

Becoming a leftover hunter
CouesHunterAZ replied to kennyazman's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Reading this thread has got my hopes up for this year now! It's looking like this might be my brother's and I route this year, and we have never bought leftovers before so I must ask, where can I find information on leftover tags and the units they are in? -
Looking to buy left handed bow with a 31 inch draw length
CouesHunterAZ posted a topic in Classified Ads
Not only is it difficult to find left handed bows, but to find them for a 6'5 person is nearly impossible. I was wondering if any of you are selling a bow like this, or know of any good places where I could buy one. Thanks, and congrats to all the people who got drawn for the fall hunts! -
One of the Apex TVs is sold, and a pending sale on the shotgun. Everything else is still up for sale

Selling these items to fund buying my brother a birthday present, and I am very interested in any sort of trade for a left handed rifle or shotgun. I understand that many of these items are not for hunting, but I wanted to try to sell them to you guys first at a lower price before trying other places. First on the list is a 16 gauge St. Etienne double barrel shotgun. A friend just gave this to me and I rate the shape a C, as there is some rust and as you can see the butt is beat up. I also do not know if it fires or not, I'm selling it for 220 or another offer. The second and third items on the list are two 32 inch digital Apex TVs, with a mount already attached. These were hung outside for some time, but the overall shape is a A-. I am selling the mounts and TVs for 150 each. I am also selling this 26 inch Samsung TV. It is a 2007 model, and is a great shape. I am selling this one for 70. This Kindle Paperweight has never been opened, I won it through a college scholarship and have no use for it. Selling for 100ish, The last item is a Bose Ipod Dock that I am selling for 100. This is in great shape, and is considered to be one of the best docks out there. It also has an auxiliary input.

And yes I mixed the prices from the kindle fire and paperweight haha, I am actually asking 70 for the paperweight

Location is still up for grabs, it is either the white mountains or flagstaff right now.
