I am wearing the exact same jacket at Ben Avery as we speak! Same size, model, color. Good price on a $220 jacket.

Dandy buck! Contact some taxidermists. A lot of them have capes or are able to get them.

Thank goodness. I was too tempted with this.

I actually have a Leica 1600B that I use more than the G7 BR2. But....I just got the G7 this year. I still need to see all the features of the G7.

For the love of God... the word is "And".....not "An". AND you should know that, AND you should know not to join a site AND start talking smack right off the bat..... Get it? "AND".

I will be shooting for groups prior to the mile shooting for three reasons. 1. Build my own confidence/accuracy/experience. 2. Verify where zero will be with a 200.2gr bullet and see how/where this rifle likes them. 3. Figure out what powder charge has best ES/SD and good enough speed to flatten it out as much as possible. Anything over 2600 is a bonus. Low ES/SD is huge at 1000+, and vital at 1760 yards. 1760...dang that sounds far!

Seated a bullet to the lands to start. Seems like a decent length throat to seat them out for more powder space.

Here is the rifle. Aperature sights Here is the rear aperature set to 1600 meters (calibrated for .30 M1 ball ammo)

Bare rifle weight? Trigger? Pull weight? ADL or BDL? Barrel contour, twist rate, length? Bedded stock? Trued action? Who did the work? How does it shoot? Load info? Bullet? Speed? Dies to go with it? Gun information is like crack. Addicting to those who have the itch.....and here you are.....

Going to try the Berger .308 200.20X Hybrid. .640 BC and should be able to push them a bit faster than the 210-215, meaning less drop/drift @ 1760. This is the 200.20X @ 2600fps This is a 210 HVLD @ 2550fps2550fps 215 Hybrid @ 2500fps In comparison, a 175 SMK @ 2800fps

I thought the OP was a female as stated in her previous thread. Or am I "assuming gender"? -

Oh boy, I can't wait for the OP to come back now.... On a side note, I did not know they had eastern whitetails in Russia. Must have crossed over the Straight from northern Canada when it froze over....a long time ago.....and fell into the hands of an amateur taxidermist. -
Jeez. Then I see the photos in the other thread.

Post the photos or drop the subject and move on. The grammar alone makes me suspect on the validity of this thread. Although the last post seems to be more coherently written.

Got the brass mostly prepped this morning. It is in the tumbler now, then anneal it when it comes out. I was pleasantly surprised at the weight consistency of the new Remington brass. All 100 pieces are within 2.3gr. 194.2 to 196.5. Necks leave a lot to be desired, so I ran them through the FL die, and chamfered inside/outside after sizing. Before After Necks chamfered Uniformed the primer pickets, deburred flash holes too. Max case length is 2.494", trim to length will be 2.484"

Keep the 6.5-270AI or get the .280AI
lancetkenyon replied to Zeke-BE's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Totally depends on what other chamberings you have. The 6.5CM covers 6.5mm, but lacks about 300fps compared to the 6.5-.270AI. A .280AI would step you up in bullet weight availability. But if you already have a 7RM, really no use. -
Yep. Temp, pressure and/or altitude, humidity, look angle, latitude and direction of shot for coriolis, wind speed/direction, etc.
-
What fun is that??? Plus, I might try and use it on an elk hunt in the future, so an accurate load with the 210s will be good for that too.
-
I will paint it either white or orange to help see impact (s). I have a spot where you can almost drive right to the target spot, so only need to lug it across a small wash up to the hill.
