In my opinion, the amount of snow up top right now, if any, won't push an elk down. Get far from roads. A quad is going to be very cold to ride starting next week, when the temps start to plummet.

741 Yard Squirrel-Cold Bore

A little gritty... -
The Berger target line are not closed meplat bullets. They are still an open hollow point. But, sometimes they can get clogged with either a bit of lead, or polishing compound. So do the hunting line. Some of the Sierra line have a pointed HP design however. 6mm 110 SMK, 6.5mm 142 & 150 SMK, 7mm 183 & 197 SMK, .308 210 & 230 SMK, etc.

First shot was about perfect. 3" back from the top corner of the white patch.

Post it on Youtube then share the link.

It is the slight breeze blowing the vapor trail from R-L. -
Taylor shot her pronghorn with one in August. 391 yards. Right in the crease. No ribs hit, little bloodshot on the entrance, about baseball size bloodshot on the exit side in the rib area. Not bad.

Nice find. I have only found a few pick-up racks. Seemed like all were lion kills to me with the nose crushed.

"Non-resident alien".....no kidding!

Is this a contradiction? The Berger link you imbedded is not necessarily the best source. It basically says "If you suck at shooting and can't hit where you need to, the Hunting bullet version might help you out a bit more as the bullet grenades inside a bit better than the target version, maybe catching some vitals.". ☺️ Don't get me wrong. I mostly hunt with Berger bullets too. A few Sierra as well. .223 69 SMK or 50 VMAX 6CM 105 Hybrid .250AI 100 SMK .25-06AI 115 HVLD (a hunting bullet) 25SST 131 Blackjack .260 Rem 140 Hybrid 6.5SLR 130 OTM or 140 Hybrid 6.5SS 150 SMK 6.5SS 156 Elite (a hunting bullet) .280AI 175 Elite (a hunting bullet) or 160 TMK 7RM 180 Hybrid .300RUM 215 or 230 Hybrid From close or very far, from slow to very fast, all have performed flawlessly...so far.

Kodiak Flex Bow tent and Mr buddy heater question.
lancetkenyon replied to AZHUNTER05's topic in The Campfire
I have run an OLD Coleman catalytic heater for years. Crack a couple windows, and it does enough to knock the chill off. Looking at the weather reports, I bought a Mr. Buddy heater for the future. Good to hear they keep a tent warm. Expected temps are low single digits in a week or three up north. Does a regular hose for a 20# that fits in a lantern work for the Mr. Buddy? Guess I better verify. -
I got the photos too.....😎 Adam is a stud. Good thing that 28 shoots so well....

I can say the 121 Hammers fly REALLY accurately, but BCs seem WAY inflated. Like 6-8" low at 545, 12-14" low at 741, 18+" low at 921. I couldn't even estimate how low the 921 yard drop was. Pretty unexpected. 545 group was very good however. Like 1.5". 721 was about 2". The vapor trail off the Hammers is a sight to see. Looks like a dust trail! I have a couple good videos of them, but here is a still frame of one. -
Hey dipshit...that is a moose, not a doe.

If he wants to beat that....he needs to switch to mulies! -
I tested an Athlon Midas. Did not track, or even resemble coming close to returning to zero. Sent it back and got a brand new replacement. Did the exact same thing. I sent it back to the supplier and told him to never, EVER order another one for sale. POS. I have an Athlon Ares BTR, and it sits atop a loaned rifle. I have only shot maybe 20 rounds under it. It is OK. The suggestion of an SWFA 3-15×42 is a great one. I have two still. Had the 5-20×50 HD for years with zero problems, and LOTS of shooting. My suggestion, look at used higher end scopes. You can find $1k scopes used for $600 all the time.

In my opinion, that was a good pass on those bucks. Stay warm buddy.

About 15 years ago, I took a nasty fall over a wet rotten log. Landed right on the scope. I didn't even check it. Just switched to my main back up. Still had #3 just in case. Then, my cousin dropped his rifle and broke the top turret off. He carried my back up #2. We both killed later in the hunt. -
Good prices. Great jackets.

See? People think I m crazy for taking 3 guns on a hunt. I would rather have and not need, than need and not have.
