Bump, $2300, bottom price. Scope, rings, level, caps. Rifle is SPF. -
Taylor has been using an Eberlestock X1 for years.

That is cheap. Great product. I use Seekins on all my R700s.

Killer buck! That must have hurt when he was growing! I dig the unusual main beam after the injury.

Carbon wrap barrels - thoughts
lancetkenyon replied to jdown's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I think they shoot every bit as well as the best steel barrels. About the same weight as a #3 steel contour, but stiffer and have less dispersion across a full ladder test. Once a node is found with either, it is a toss up. There are circumstances that might be better off with steel though. Like a rifle that gets shot a lot in a cartridge known for low round count life. Like a 28 Nosler for example. With a barrel life of 500-800 rounds, I would opt for steel for replacement price alone. -
Freaking amazing year! Congrats on 5 brutes.

AGFD -- Info Needed On Kaibab Deer Poaching
lancetkenyon replied to Outdoor Writer's topic in Mule Deer Hunting
Where was NoBull350 and Bonecollector777 at that time? They seem to mysteriously have photos of a few other large animals that get poached.... Yeah, I am going to call them out every time I see a case mentioned. -

Let me ask my neighbor. She boards horses, and has farriers over to shoe every once in a while. -

Gun and shot legalism

Sandhill cranes are not "waterfowl". Lead is acceptable. But if you are hunting ducks/geese at the same time, gotta go lead-free. -

I have 5 Proof Research carbon fiber barreled customs. Planning #6 now. I too, cannot see myself going back to a steel barrel for a hunting rifle at this point. -
Love the black horns!

I actually got a call for the story! Awesome buck Adam.

Holy sheet! That is one tough hombre. He just earned his "Man card" early.

A 3 generation hunt? That…..is totally awesome! I wish my dad could tag along on a future hunt. I miss hunting with him. I just don't think he could handle a 13 day trip in the cold any more. Might need to try and get him out on an easier upcoming hunt. Great bucks. Great shooting. Would LOVE to see what that 195 pulling a U-turn did to that buck's insides. Did he dump?

Great buck. You know, I really like the way that buck flip-flops from side to side. Right has huge fronts, left has huge backs. That is really cool.
